    Correlation of Driver Head Posture and Trapezius Muscle Activity as Comfort Assessment of Car Seat

    Car design must very care comfort and driving pleasure. Nonetheless, the design choices are tested with subjective evaluations. In the present research, an objective measurement equipment for driving comfort assessment is proposed. The muscles activity of the driver in different maneuvers is considered the gauge of her/his feeling with the car. The activity of trapezius muscles of both shoulders is monitored by electromyography (EMG), through electrodes applied to her/his skin. The driver posture is monitored with a robust device for head tracking, using two 9-axis orientation sensors, including gyroscope. Real driving experiments are performed both with a luxury SUV and a high-end car. As expected, the first resulted more comfortable. The proposed equipment proved to be effective in assessing the driving comfort for different seat designs and car layouts

    Prevalence of Sarcopenia in Knee Osteoarthritis: A Systematic Review and Meta-Analysis

    An association between knee osteoarthritis (OA) and sarcopenia has been proposed, but the evidence is controversial, with the recent literature showing disparate results. Therefore, we aimed to perform a systematic review and meta-analysis to evaluate the prevalence of sarcopenia in knee OA patients compared to people not affected by this condition. We searched several databases until 22 February 2022. The data regarding prevalence were summarized using odds ratios (ORs) with their 95% confidence intervals (CIs). Among the 504 papers initially screened, 4 were included for a total of 7495 participants with a mean age of 68.4 years, who were mainly females (72.4%). The prevalence of sarcopenia in people with knee OA was 45.2%, whilst, in the controls, it was 31.2%. Pooling the data of the studies included that the prevalence of sarcopenia in knee OA was more than two times higher than in the control group (OR = 2.07; 95%CI: 1.43–3.00; I2 = 85%). This outcome did not suffer any publication bias. However, after removing an outlier study, the recalculated OR was 1.88.     Going Beyond Counting First Authors in Author Co-citation Analysis

    The present study examines one of the fundamental aspects of author co-citation analysis (ACA) - the way co-citation counts are defined. Co-citation counting provides the data on which all subsequent statistical analyses and mappings are based, and we compare ACA results based on two different types of co-citation counting - the traditional type that only counts the first one among a cited work's authors on the one hand and a non-traditional type that takes into account the first 5 authors of a cited work on the other hand. Results indicate that the picture produced through this non-traditional author co-citation counting contains more coherent author groups and is therefore considerably clearer. However, this picture represents fewer specialties in the research field being studied than that produced through the traditional first-author co-citation counting when the same number of top-ranked authors is selected and analyzed. Rehabilitation programs and adaptive sports have shown promise in mitigating these effects. This paper explores the potential of adaptive Judo to improve motor skills, balance, and overall quality of life in patients with neuropathy.Methods We review existing literature, analyze the benefits of Judo's physical and cognitive demands, and propose adaptive guidelines for its implementation.Results This study highlights Judo's potential as a cost-effective and scalable intervention to support neuropathic patients.Conclusion This review emphasizes the evidence-based benefits of adapted Judo training has the potential to transform both the physical and emotional health of neuropathic individuals

    Driving comfort is a key emerging factor for the marketability of cars due to the growing interest in the evaluation of ergonomics in cars. Typical ergonomic issues, related to the locomotor system, happens when the muscular effort is too high to perform the task or kinematics is too restricted [MARE]. The ergonomic evaluation identifies the critical aspects of the steering task and intervenes to reduce injuries, thus increasing the driver's well-being. The subjective evaluation of driving comfort is still the most used way to design a car seat; this limitation could be overcome by using emerging technologies [MARE]. The activity of trapezius muscles of both shoulders is assumed as predicting factor of car seat comfort while driving.
