Levin Powell Johnson
Levin Powell Johnson, a son of William H. Johnson, came with his parents and family from Alabama in the early 1850s. Levin P. moved to a homestead south of Bradenton and married the widow Mary Hays, then the couple moved to a grove along the Braden River. Levin owned several groves an amassed a huge herd of cattle. Levin died July 29, 1881 and was the first person buried in the Braden River cemetery
On Quasi Convex Functions and Hadamard's Inequality
In this paper we establish some inequalities of Hadamard’s type involving Godunova-Levin functions, P-functions, quasi-convex functions, Jquasi- convex functions, Wright-convex functions and Wright-quasi-convex functions
The “Colour Family Drawing Test”: Assessing Children’s Perception of Family Relationships. Studies on Mental Health and Cross-Cultural Comparisons.
We apply the Colour Family Drawing Test, as a development of the traditional black and white test,
for cross-cultural comparison. The participants, aged 7 - 10 years, both genders, were examined
individually. Each subject sat at a single table with a white rectangular card of standard size, 24
well-sharpened colour pencils, a black pencil, an eraser and other appropriate tools. S/he received
this verbal instruction: “Draw your family”. The procedure was firstly applied to 120 participants
attending primary schools of Rome (Biasi, Bonaiuto and Levin, 2014). The families were evaluated
through a semi-structural interview conducted with the children’s teachers and divided into: Harmonious
versus Very Conflictual Families. The drawings made by children of Harmonious Families
consistently used “Reassuring and Playful Colours” (Pink, Orange, Sky Blue, Light Green, Light
Yellow, other pastel colours); and were larger, tidier and more proportioned to respect the opposite
group. Children belonging to Conflictual Families used mostly “Alarming and Serious Colours”
(Grey, Black, Dark Bleu, Violet, Olive Green) and their drawings were less extended, more often
disordered and had typical deformations such as figures too thin. A second investigation examined
120 participants belonging to Asian immigrant families residing in Italy. A third investigation examined
120 participants belonging to Russian families of Moscow. Both last two investigations
obtained very similar results on the use of colours, and gave a confirmation of the relevance of the
Colour Family Drawing Test

Scenes of Toledo graphic, Toledo, Ohio
A postcard from the Ken Levin Toledo Postcard Collection, donated by Toledo resident, Ken Levin. The collection contains picture postcards about the Toledo area. Mr. Levin’s collection was published by the Toledo Blade in a book entitled “You Will Do Better in Toledo: From Frogtown to Glass City”, edited by Sandy and John R. Husman
On Weighted Remainder Form of Hardy-Type Inequalities
We use different approaches to study a generalization of a result of Levin and Stečkin
concerning an inequality analogous to Hardy’s inequality. Our results lead naturally to the study
of weighted remainder form of Hardy-type inequalities
INTERSECTIONS IN SUBVARIETIES OF Glm AND APPLICATIONS TO LACUNARY POLYNOMIALS
We investigate intersections of a given subvariety X of Glm with cosets of 1-parameter subtori, on interpreting the context in terms of S-unit points over function fields. On adopting a function field version of a method introduced recently by the second author, extending to arbitrary dimensions previous work of the first and third authors, we prove that when the number of intersections is substantially higher than expected, one can classify the relevant subtori. As a consequence, we obtain a classification of the cosets of subtori such that there are many multiple intersections with X. This also allows a new proof of a conjecture of Erdős and Rényi on lacunary polynomials. We finally show how the methods yield results in the realm of Unlikely Intersections in Glm, and in the last section, reinterpret some of the results in terms of Vojta’s conjecture with truncated counting functions
