    Internal gas target experiments at the LHC

    The physics opportunities offered by a fixed-target program using the proton and lead-ion beams of the LHC is wide and exciting. The LHC beams can provide the most energetic fixed-target measurements by pp, pA, and PbA collisions at √sNN = 72–115 GeV probing unexplored regions of the kinematical plane, including the high-x region. In the case of an unpolarized target the physics rich ranges from QCD to astroparticle, while the polarized target option opens the ground to novel measurements of TMDs, thereby contributing with a complementary approach to the understanding of the dynamics of the quark-gluon interplay inside the nucleon up to the 3-dimensional description of the nucleons. Among the main LHC experiments LHCb is the most suitable to host a fixed gas target. A description of the ongoing fixed-target proposals aimed at having the first LHC unpolarized data in Run3 and polarized data in Run4 will be discussed

    Towards Polarised Antiprotons: Machine Developments for Spin-Filtering Studies

    We address the commissioning of the experimental equipment and the machine studies required for the first spin-filtering experiment with protons at the COSY ring in Julich (Germany) at a beam kinetic energy of 49.3 MeV. The implementation of a low-beta insertion made it possible to achieve beam lifetimes of 8000 s in the presence of a dense polarized hydrogen storage cell target. The developed techniques can be directly applied to antiproton machines and allow for the determination of the spin-dependent pbar-p cross sections via spin-filtering

    Semantical Analysis Of Perpetual Strategies In Lambda-Calculus

    Perpetual strategies in lambda-calculus are analyzed from a semantical perspective. This is achieved using suitable denotational models, computationally adequate with respect to the observational (operational) equivalence, approximate to(p), induced by perpetual strategies. A necessary and sufficient condition is given for an omega-algebraic lattice, isomorphic to the space of its strict continuous self-maps, to be computationally adequate w.r.t. approximate to(p). While many such models exist, it is shown, however, that none is fully abstract w.r.t. approximate to(p). The computationally adequate lattice model D-p is studied in detail. It is used to give a semantical proof of the Conservation Theorem for the lambda-calculus, and to provide coinductive and mixed inductive-coinductive characterizations of approximate to(p). The coinductive characterization allows to show that the term model of approximate to(p) is a denotational model; this yields a new characterization of perpetual redexes in lambda-calculus

    Optimization of spin coherence time for electric dipole moment (EDM) measurements in a storage ring

    The JEDI experiment is dedicated to the search for the electric dipole moment (EDM) of charged particles using storage rings, which can be a very sensitive probe of physics beyond the Standard Model. In order to reach the high- est possible sensitivity, a fundamental parameter to be optimized is the Spin Coherence Time (SCT), i.e., the time interval within which the particles of the stored beam maintain a net polarization greater than 1/e. To identify the working conditions that maximize SCT, accurate spin-dynamics simulations with the code BMAD have been performed on the lattice of a "prototype" storage ring which uses a combination of electric and magnetic fields for bending. This contribution presents an analysis of the mechanisms behind the decoherence, and a technique to maximize SCT through the optimization of second-order optical parameters

    Pisang merupakan salah satu produk dari sektor pertanian yang melimpah di Indonesia, dimana hasil produksi pisang mencapai 9,60 juta ton pada tahun 2022. Buah pisang dapat dikonsumsi dengan berbagai cara, yaitu dapat dimakan langsung ataupun diolah menjadi berbagai produk, salah satunya produk sale pisang. Sale pisang merupakan makanan olahan dari buah pisang yang dikeringkan, proses pengolahannya menghasilkan sale pisang yang dengan cita rasa dan aroma yang khas. Produk sale pisang yang berkualitas dalam menciptakan kepuasan konsumen dan meningkatkan keuntungan bagi home industry. Semakin tinggi kualitas produk yang disajikan, maka semakin tinggi pula kepuasan konsumen terhadap produk tersebut. Persaingan ketat antar usaha lokal saat ini menuntut produsen untuk terus meningkatkan kualitas produk olahannya. Tingginya produksi dan permintaan pada produk sale pisang belum memenuhi target yang diinginkan oleh UMKM Lenisa, oleh karena itu perlu dilakukan evaluasi untuk mengetahui apa saja atribut yang disukai dan yang tidak disukai oleh konsumen terhadap produk sale pisang yang dihasilkan UMKM Lenisa. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui tingkat kepuasan konsumen dan atribut apa saja yang diinginkan dan dipertahankan konsumen pada produk sale pisang UMKM Lenisa. Pengukuran tingkat kepuasan konsumen pada penelitian ini menggunakan metode Importance Performance Analysis (IPA) dan Customer Satisfaction Index (CSI). Penentuan atribut produk menggunakan rata-rata dari tingkat kepentingan dan tingkat kinerja kemudian dijabarkan melalui diagram kartesius. Diagram kartesius merupakan suatu bagan yang terbagi atas 4 bagian yang dibatasi oleh dua garis yang berpotongan tegak lurus pada titik X (rata-rata tingkat kinerja) dan titik Y (rata-rata tingkat kepentingan).Variabel yang digunakan berdasarkan kualitas, harga dan kemasan. Data yang diperoleh dari penelitian ini dianalisis menggunakan scatter graph pada SPSS 25, sedangkan untuk menghitung persentase tingkat kepuasan dengan menghitung nilai ratarata kepentingan atribut (I) kemudian semuanya dijumlahkan agar mendapatkan nilai Y dan selanjutnya mengalikan I dengan P pada skor (S) kemudian dijumlahkan dan diperoleh nilai T. Hasil penelitian berdasarkan perhitungan Importance Performance Analysis (IPA) menunjukkan bahwa atribut produk sale pisang Lenisa yang diinginkan dan perlu diperbaiki yaitu desain tentang kemasan, informasi izin produksi, dan informasi tanggal kadaluarsa. Sedangkan atribut yang perlu dipertahankan yaitu cita rasa manis, warna sale pisang menarik (kuning kecoklatan), umur simpan relatif lama, informasi komposisi pada produk, dan harga sesuai kualitas, tampilan dan kemasan. Hasil perhitungan Customer Satisfaction Index (CSI) menunjukkan bahwa nilai indeks kepuasan konsumen yaitu sebesar 0,71 yang berarti tingkat kepuasan konsumen terhadap keseluruhan atribut produk sale pisang Lenisa termasuk ke dalam kriteria puas. Tingkat kepuasan responden secara menyeluruh dapat dilihat dari kriteria pada tingkat kepuasan yaitu jika 0,66 – 0,80 maka puas

    One of the most challenging aspects of hadron physics is represented by the proton spin and its interpretation in terms of its internal constituents. The issue rose dramatically in the late 1980s when the European Muon Collaboration (EMC) conducted experiments suggesting that, contrary to the naive expectation, the spin carried by quarks is only a small fraction of the total spin of the proton.
