    Bounds on the entanglement of two-qutrit systems from fixed marginals

    We discuss the problem of characterizing upper bounds on entanglement in a bipartite quantum system when only the reduced density matrices (marginals) are known. In particular, starting from the known two-qubit case, we propose a family of candidates for maximally entangled mixed states with respect to fixed marginals for two qutrits. These states are extremal in the convex set of two-qutrit states with fixed marginals. Moreover, it is shown that they are always quasidistillable. As a by-product we prove that any maximally correlated state that is quasidistillable must be pure. Our observations for two qutrits are supported by numerical analysis

    Approximate solution to the time-dependent Kratzer plus screened Coulomb potential in the Feinberg-Horodecki equation

    We obtain the quantized momentum eigenvalues P-n together with space-like coherent eigenstates for the space-like counterpart of the Schrodinger equation, the Feinberg-Horodecki equation, with a combined Kratzer potential plus screened coulomb potential which is constructed by temporal counterpart of the spatial form of these potentials. The present work is illustrated with two special cases of the general form: the time-dependent modified Kratzer potential and the time-dependent screened Coulomb potential

    Distributed correlations and information flows within a hybrid multipartite quantum-classical system

    Understanding the non-Markovian mechanisms underlying the revivals of quantum entanglement in the presence of classical environments is central in the theory of quantum information. Tentative interpretations have been given by either the role of the environment as a control device or the concept of hidden entanglement. We address this issue from an information-theoretic point of view. To this aim, we consider a paradigmatic tripartite system, already realized in the laboratory, made of two independent qubits and a random classical field locally interacting with one qubit alone. We study the dynamical relationship between the two-qubit entanglement and the genuine tripartite correlations of the overall system, finding that collapse and revivals of entanglement correspond, respectively, to the rise and fall of the overall tripartite correlations. Interestingly, entanglement dark periods can enable plateaux of nonzero tripartite correlations. We then explain this behavior in terms of information flows among the different parties of the system. Besides showcasing the phenomenon of the freezing of overall correlations, our results provide insights on the origin of retrieval of entanglement within a hybrid quantum-classical system

    Quantized momentum eigenstates and thermodynamic properties of the Feinberg–Horodecki equation for the time-dependent Wei-Hua oscillator

    In this study, we obtained exact solutions of the Feinberg–Horodecki equation for the time-dependent Wei-Hua potential, which is constructed by the temporal counterpart of the spatial form of this potential. We have obtained the quantized momentum eigenvalues and the corresponding wave functions. We obtain the partition function for the system and study other thermodynamic properties which include vibrational mean momentum (U), vibrational specific heat capacity (C), vibrational entropy (s) and vibrational free momentum (F) as a signature in the momentum space.The presentation of the authors' names and (or) special characters in the title of the pdf file of the accepted manuscript may differ slightly from what is displayed on the item page. Ćwiczenie na siłowni staje się coraz bardziej popularne, zarówno wśród kobiet, jak i wśród mężczyzn. Regularne treningi, poza zmianami morfologicznymi oraz funkcjonalnymi mogą mieć wpływ na zmiany pewnych aspektów psychologicznych, szczególnie dotyczących poczucia własnej wartości oraz postrzegania własnego ciała. Cel. Postanowiono określić poziom poczucia własnej wartości oraz poczucia wartości własnego ciała u osób ćwiczących na siłowni. Ponadto celem badań było zbadanie wzajemnych zależności między tymi rodzajami samooceny oraz ocena wpływu wieku i stażu treningowego na ich poziom u kobiet i u mężczyzn. Materiał i metody. Zbadano 73 osoby regularnie ćwiczące na siłowni: 23 kobiety i 50 mężczyzn. Narzędziem badawczym był kwestionariusz, zawierający Skalę Samooceny Rosenberga (SES) oraz Skalę Poczucia Wartości  Własnego Ciała (BES). Wyniki. Zarówno kobiety, jak i mężczyźni ocenili poczucie własnej wartości na poziomie 59% możliwych do uzyskania punktów. Również poczucie wartości własnego ciała i jego składowe były powyżej połowy możliwych do uzyskania punktów. Nie znaleziono korelacji poczucia własnej wartości z poczuciem wartości własnego ciała. Odnotowano silne wzajemne korelacje między składowymi skali BES. Wśród kobiet odnotowano korelację wieku z wynikami SES. Wnioski. Osoby ćwiczące na siłowni mają dobry poziom globalnej samooceny oraz poczucia wartości własnego ciała. Badane rodzaje samooceny nie są wzajemnymi korelatami. Aspekty poczucia wartości własnego ciała są ze sobą skorelowane. Wśród kobiet wiek wpływa dodatnio na poczucie własnej wartości.   Abstract Admission. Exercise at the gym has become increasingly popular, both among women and among men. Regular workouts besides morphological and functional changes may affect the amendment of certain psychological aspects, particularly concerning self-esteem and perception of their own body. Objective. It was decided to determine the level of self-esteem and a sense of one's own body in people exercising in the gym. Moreover, the aim of the study was to examine the interrelationships between these types of self-assessment and the assessment of the effects of age and training experience to their level in men and women. Materials and methods. We examined 73 people regularly exercising at the gym: 23 women and 50 men. The research tool was a questionnaire containing the Rosenberg Self-Assessment Scale (SES) and the scale of self-esteem own body (BES). Results. Both women and men assessed self-esteem at the level of 59% of possible points. Also, a sense of one's own body and its components were more than half of the possible points. No correlation was found self-esteem with a sense of your own body. There has been strong correlations between the components of the scale BES. Among women aged noted a correlation with the results of the SES. Conclusions. People exercising at the gym have a good level of global self-esteem and a sense of your own body. Tested types of self-esteem are not mutually correlates. Aspects of self-esteem own body are correlated. Among women age has a positive effect on self-esteem.   Słowa kluczowe: ćwiczenie na siłowni, samoocena, poczucie wartości własnego ciała.     Teleportation via a mixture of a two qubit subsystem of a N-qubit W and GHZ state

Lett. A 210, 157 (1996); R. Horodecki, P. Horodecki, M. Horodecki, Phys. Lett. A 200, 340 (1995); S. Massar, S. Popescu, Phys. Rev. Lett. 74, 1259 (1995); S. Popescu, Phys. Rev. Lett. 72, 797 (1994); C.H. Bennett, G. Brassard, C. Crepeau, R. Jozsa, A. Peres, W.K. Wootters, Phys. Rev. Lett. 70, 1895 (1993)] (Fmax>23)(F_{max}>\frac{2}{3}) for this state. We also obtain a relationship between N (number of qubits) and p (the classical probability of random mixture) for each of these possibilities. Finally we present a detailed analysis of all these possibilities for N=3,4,5 qubit systems. We also report that for N=3 and p(0.75,1]p\in(0.75,1], this entangled state can be used as a teleportation channel without violating Bell's inequality

    Local approach to quantum entanglement

    Quantum entanglement is the key property that makes quantum information theory different from its classical counterpart and is also a valuable physical resource with massive potential for technological applications. However, our understanding of entanglement is still far from complete despite intense research activities. Like other physical resources, the first step towards exploiting them fully is to know how to quantify. There are many reasons to focus on the entanglement of continuous-variable states since the underlying degrees of freedom of physical systems carrying quantum information are frequently continuous, rather than discrete. Much of the effort has been concentrated on Gaussian states, because these are common as the ground or thermal states of optical modes. Within this framework, many interesting topics have been studied and some significant progress made. Nevertheless, non-Gaussian states are also extremely important; this is especially so in condensed-phase systems, where harmonic behaviour in any degree of freedom is likely to be only an approximation. So far, there is little knowledge about the quantification of entanglement in non-Gaussian states. This thesis aims to contribute to the active field of research in quantum entanglement by introducing a new approach to the analysis of entanglement, especially in continuous-variable states, and shows that it leads to the first systematic quantification of the (local) entanglement in arbitrary bipartite non-Gaussian states. By applying this local approach, many new insights can be gained. Notably, local entanglements of systems with smooth wavefunctions are fully characterised by the derived simple expressions, provided the wavefunction is known. The local (logarithmic) negativity of any two-mode mixed states can be directly computed from the closed-form formulae given. For multi-mode mixed states, this approach provides a scheme that permits much simpler numerical computation for quantifying entanglement than is generally possible from directly computing the full entanglement of the system
