    Networked innovation in health care: a literature review and research agenda on the interplay of inner and outer contexts of innovation

    In Chapter 10, La Rocca presents a systematic literature review on healthcare innovation, focusing on an examination of the extent to which this research has acknowledged the networked nature of innovation and the inter-relatedness of intra- and inter-organizational innovation processes. The review of the literature shows that research on innovation in healthcare has largely explored the process of translating innovation into local contexts but is also increasingly turning attention to how innovation is spread across organizations. Drawing on the literature review, the author concludes that the understanding of how the interplay of innovation processes at the local level and those outside the organizational boundaries impact the innovation journey in healthcare remains limited. A research agenda on networked innovation in healthcare is outlined

This need not be the case, and here we highlight velocity-dependent radiation pressure terms that have their origins in the mixing of s and p polarizations brought about by the Lorentz transformation between the lab and the material rest frame, rather than in the corresponding transformation of frequency and wavevector. The theory we develop may be relevant to the nano-optomechanics of moving bodies

    Effect of Sedimentation on 3D Turbidity Currents

    In this paper a mathematical model for 3D turbidity currents has been presented. The model consists in a system of partial differential equations in conservative form, formulated in the framework of the shallow water equations and it accounts for the main features of the turbidity currents: entrainment of environment fluid, settling and resuspension of particles, variation of density. A numerical investigation has been performed to assess the influence of the settling of particles on the turbidity current. To this aim different turbidity currents have been simulated, with the same excess density and initial volume, but realized with silicon carbide particles with increasing diameter. Numerical results are compared with experimental results by La Rocca et al.([8]). The agreement is fairly good and shows the ability of the proposed model in reproducing the main features of the physical phenomenon

ISTISAN Congressi 18/C3 Ftalati e bisfenolo A sono sostanze plastificanti ubiquitarie e riconosciuti interferenti endocrini. Il progetto LIFE PERSUADED ha avuto come obiettivo principale la valutazione dei livelli di ftalati e Bisfenolo A nei bambini e adolescenti della popolazione italiana, attraverso uno studio di biomonitoraggio che ha coinvolto coppie madre-figlio reclutate al Nord, Centro e Sud Italia. LIFE PERSUADED si è proposto inoltre di indagare sulla possibile associazione tra esposizione a tali sostanze e patologie infantili sempre più diffuse, come le alterazioni dello sviluppo puberale e l’obesità. Attraverso studi sperimentali su un modello murino ad hoc, LIFE PERSUADED ha studiato gli effetti diretti di queste sostanze ed evidenziato marcatori precoci. Il Workshop ha lo scopo di presentare i risultati del progetto, con particolare riferimento alla problematica degli interferenti endocrini in relazione alla salute del bambino, evidenziandone le ricadute in ambito regolatorio, della valutazione e comunicazione del rischio
