Şah Cihan Döneminde Babürlü-Osmanlı Diplomatik İlişkileri

    No full text

Shah Jahan, who was the fifth emperor of the Baburid Empire, came to the throne in 1628. His priorities in foreign policy were conquering Kandahar from the Safavids, recapturing the lands on the border of the Khanate of Bukhara, which once belonged to his ancestors, establishing sovereignty over the sultanates in Deccan region and ending their relationships with the Safavids. Each of these objectives concerned the Safavids directly or indirectly. When Shah Jahan attacked Kandahar, his aim was forming an alliance with the Khanate of Bukhara and when he attacked the Khanate of Bukhara his aim was ensuring the neutrality of the Safavids. In order to conquer Kandahar, Shah Jahan tried to form a Sunni alliance with the Ottoman Empire and the Khanate of Bukhara against the Safavids. Even though he could not form this Sunni alliance, he was successful in capturing Kandahar. Subsequently, he attacked the Khanate of Bukhara in order to recapture the lands of his ancestors. Nadr Muhammad, the governor of Balkh asked for help from the Safavids. Shah Jahan sent messengers to Shah Abbas II to avoid this help and he claimed that he sent his army to Balkh region because of the killing of some sayyids, which resulted from the domestic unrest in the region. Furthermore, after putting an end to Nizamshah Sultanate, Shah Jahan put pressure on Kutbshah Sultanate and he ensured that they adopted Sunni Islam; however, he did not ask the same thing from the Shia Adilshahids. He avoided a possible alliance of these two sultanates by ensuring that they have different religious sects. Besides, these sultanates' having different religious sects was a move that would reduce the Shia Safavid influence on them as this situation would cause them to have conflicts with each other. The conflicts mentioned above and the conflicts with Lesser Tibet and Great Tibet were affairs that took place in accordance with Shah Jahan's political goals, yet, the conflicts with the Portuguese and Ahom Kingdom did not occur in line with his political goals. It can be seen that after his accession to the throne, Shah Jahan took into consideration the political and religious conditions of the states that were related to his political goals directly or indirectly before taking any action in foreign policy. As a result, in accordance with his interests, the language he used in his diplomatic relations with these states was shaped accordingly. Particularly the diplomatic language, which he used by resorting to religious references can be seen as means of achieving his political objectives

Osmanlı Beyliği’nin kuruluşundan 100-150 yıl sonra başlayan Osmanlı tarih yazıcılığı, zaman içerisinde oldukça ilerlemiş ve gerek Türk tarihi, gerekse Türk milli kültürü açısından önem taşıyan birçok eser ortaya çıkmıştır. Müverrihler, anlattıkları tarihî olayların yanı sıra gelenekler, görenekler, âdetler, efsaneler, atasözleri gibi milli kültür ürünlerimiz hakkında da bilgiler vermişlerdir. Özellikle yer adları konusunda, bu adlardan bazılarının hâlen yaşadığı göz önüne alındığında, verdikleri bilgiler son derece değerlidir. 15. yüzyılın önemli müverrihlerinden olan Oruç Bey de, adını yüzyıllardır yaşatan ve yaşatmaya da devam edecek olan Tevârîh-i Âl-i Osman adlı eserinde, küçük bir beylikten cihan imparatorluğu olma yolunda ilerleyen Osmanlıların çeşitli yerleşim yerlerine ad vermeleri konusunda tarihî ve değerli bilgiler vermiştir. Nitekim eserde adının veriliş hikâyesi anlatılan yerlerden pek çoğu yeni yeni Türk hâkimiyetine geçmektedir. Bu çalışmanın amacı, bugün yaşayan yer adlarının veriliş nedenlerinin araştırması yapılacağında başvurulması gereken önemli kaynakların başında gelen Oruç Bey’in Tevârîh-i Âl-i Osman adlı eserini toponimi çalışmalarına kazandırmaktır. Eser incelendiği zaman bir yerleşim yerine ad verme geleneğinin 3 başlık altında toplandığını görmekteyiz: 1. Bir olay sonucunda bir yere ad verilmesi: Mezar-ı Türk (Süleyman Şah’ın mezarı), Mezâr-ı Türk (Gündüz Alp ile Ay-togdı’nın mezarları), Taşak Yazısı; 2. Hükümdarın bir sözüne dayanarak bir yere ad verilmesi: Polunya/Ta?rı Yıkdugı Hisarı, kal‘a-i Metîn/Moton; 3. Bir kişinin anısına bir yere adının verilmesi: Karaman vilâyeti, Turgutlu, Koca-ili, İl-begi-oglı burgozı, Kostantin. Çalışma esnasında Oruç Bey’den önce yaşamış olan müverrih Âşık Paşazâde’nin Tevârîh-i Âl-i Osman adlı eseri ile Oruç Bey’in verdiği bilgiler karşılaştırılmıştır.The Ottoman historiography, starts 100-150 years after the foundation of Beylik Ottoman, had been developed by time and there were many literature works appeared which are so important to Turkish history and Turkish national culture. The Adil Shahi Sultanate was an important state founded in 1489 by Yusuf Adil Shah in the Deccan region of India, centered in Vijayapura. The sultanate witnessed eight different rulers until it was destroyed by the army of Babur in 1686. Some researchers generally base their studies on Muhammad Qasim Hindu Shah’s work titled Ferishtah’s History of Deccan, which is one of the main sources for this sultanate. According to researchers and based on this resource,Yusuf was the son of the Ottoman ruler Murad II. However, other claims about Yusuf’s lineage appear to have not been included in these studies. Thus, these academic studies can be said to be methodologically incomplete or insufficient. In fact, Fuzuni Astarabadi was another author to write about the sultanate and attributed Yusuf’s origins to the Ottoman ruler Suleiman the Magnificent in his work titled Futuhat-i-Adil Shahi. Another author, Rafiuddin Ibrahim Shirazi, wrote Tazkirat ul-Muluk, in which he attributed Yusuf’s origins to the Aq Qoyunlu Sultan Uzun Hasan. The novel claims about Yusuf’s origins in these works that researchers have ignored necessitate an examination of the issue in full detail. This study analyzes each of these claims by making use of Ottoman and Aq Qkoyunlu chronicles. As a result, the research reveals that the accuracy of these allegations should be questioned. The authors who put forward these claims are assumed to have aimed to strengthen the legitimacy of the sultan of the period due to their own interests or the political circumstances of the sultanate. In this context, the current study has focused on the question of who Yusuf Adil Shah was. As a result, the research has concluded him to have been an ordinary Turk who belonged to the Shiite sect and who’d originally migrated from the city of Save in Iran to the Bahmani lands. The obtained findings provide an important new perspective on Yusuf’s lineage that researchers should take into account

ISPRS-Commission V Mid-Term Symposium on Close Range Image Measurement Technique -- JUN 21-24, 2010 -- Newcastle upon Tyne, ENGLANDLaser scanning is the latest method to collect 3D spatial data and modelling. It becomes more and more popular in engineering applications such as 3D modeling, deformation analysis, reverse engineering and urban planning. However, laser scanners are not sufficient on their own for 3D surveying and modeling. It should be used together with the photogrammetric data especially in the orientation of point clouds, measurement of the non-scanning areas, and texture mapping. This task needs the combination of range sensor and image sensor. The sensor combination like this is a very efficient and flexible system for close-range measurement applications. Most of the laser scanners include integrated camera but most of them are low resolution and they can not be removed independent from the scanner. Therefore high resolution camera should be mounted to the laser scanner. In this study we consider mounting a camera onto laser scanner and estimating exterior parameters with strong control methods. We also made experimental studies by using exterior parameters.ISPRS CommissScientific and Technological Research Council of Turkey ( TUBITAK)Turkiye Bilimsel ve Teknolojik Arastirma Kurumu (TUBITAK); "Foreign Research Scholarship Program" to Cihan ALTUNTAS; Vienna University of Technology; Scientific Research Found of The Selcuk University ( BAP)We would like to thank The Scientific and Technological Research Council of Turkey ( TUBITAK) for the financial support they have provided as a part of "Foreign Research Scholarship Program" to Cihan ALTUNTAS to the carried out this study in Vienna University of Technology. ÂDİLŞÂHÎLER SULTANI YUSUF ÂDİLŞÂH’IN ŞİİLİK SİYASETİ

Although the sources express different opinions about Yusuf’s origin, they agree that he was a Shiite of Turkish origin and went to Ardabil in her childhood and became a disciple of Sheikh Safiyuddin. On this visit, Yusuf promised to spread the Shiite sect if Khidr granted him sovereignty. He lived in Save for a while during his childhood and received an education in accordance with the principles of Shiism. He traveled to India with the guidance of Hadrat Khidr, who appeared in his dream while he was in Shiraz, and joined the Behmenid court. Yusuf, who was appointed to various administrative and military posts, while he was the governor of Bicapur, gained independence by having a khutbah read in his name here in 1489 and established the sultanate of the Adilshahids. However, soon, with the instigation of the Bahmenis, some local forces attacked the Adilshahi lands and captured some castles. Yusuf encouraged his entourage by telling them that they would be successful against the enemy with the help of the spiritual figures of Shiism. After the victory, in a meeting with some statesmen, he said that in his dream, Khidr had given him the good news of his sultanate and promised to declare Shiism as the official sect in case of its realization. He even stated that the negative events occurred because he did not keep his promise. With this approach, he legitimized his desire to recognize Shiism as the official sect. Yusuf emphasized that, despite some objections at the meeting, he had promised this to God on this matter and that he had granted him a state. He based his aim of officially recognizing Shiism on spiritual grounds, and after a while declared Shiism as the official sect. Sunnis were granted freedom of worship. He did not go to extremes like Shah Ismail, who declared Shiism as the official sect in Iran in the same years. However, he had broken the power of some influential Sunni emirs or had their activities controlled. With his Shi’ite policy, Yusuf tried to break the people’s ties with the Sunni Behmanids to whom they had once belonged. In this study, it has been tried to reveal the politics of Yusuf during his early acquaintance with the Shiite sect, his adoption of this sect and his declaration of it as the official sect of the state he founded
