Identificacion del contenido de los curriculos en salud sexual y reproductiva de la educacion superior de Latinoamerica y el Caribe
Get PDFResumen Objetivo: Identificar en las instituciones seleccionadas de educación superior de Latinoamérica y el Caribe, la inclusión de la propuesta temática curricular de FLASOG sobre salud sexual y reproductiva en los programas de pregrado y posgrado. Métodos: Estudio descriptivo, prospectivo de corte transversal, durante el año 2017, en las cuales se aplicó una encuesta a universidades de Latinoamérica y el caribe para determinar si los contenidos de los programas con relación a salud sexual y reproductiva corresponden con la propuesta temática de FLASOG tanto en pregrado (Medicina) como en posgrado (Obstetricia y Ginecología). Resultados: 100% de los programas de pregrado evaluados incluyen dentro del currículo los siguientes temas: métodos anticonceptivos, aborto y morbimortalidad materna y 36.4% incluyen salud sexual en la tercera edad. 100% de los programas de posgrado incluyen: métodos de anticoncepción, anticoncepción en posparto y postaborto, morbimortalidad materna, aborto, y maternidad saludable y 55.6% IVE (interrupción voluntaria del embarazo) y salud sexual en la tercera edad. Conclusiones: Los programas encuestados cuentan con docentes dedicados a educación en SSR (salud sexual y reproductiva ) en sus programas , aunque en la mayoría de las instituciones (76.9%) no existe un proceso formal de evaluación y retroalimentación en este contenido académico. En cuanto a los contenidos curriculares en SSR, utilizando como referencia la propuesta FLASOG en salud sexual y reproductiva todas las universidades trabajan en sus contenidos curriculares de pregrado tres temas: aborto, anticoncepción y morbimortalidad materna. Tópicos que han sido considerados de alto impacto en la salud sexual y reproductiva de las mujeres. Caso contrario a temas como la interrupción voluntaria del embarazo, contenido que se discute en 2 de cada 3 universidades y se comporta de acuerdo a los componentes sociales de la población. La salud sexual en la tercera edad es de los contenidos menos reproducido en la educación de posgrado e incluso en muchos programas se desconoce este ítem.Abstract: Objetive: To identify if selected Latin-American and Caribbean higher education institutions include in their curriculum the sexual and reproductive health topics proposed by FLASOG in undergraduate and graduate programs. Methods: Descriptive, prospective, cross sectional study done in the year 2017. A survey was sent to universities in Latin America and the Caribbean to evaluate if the sexual and reproductive health contents in the curriculum in undergraduate school (medicine) and graduate school (obstetrics and gynecology) correspond to the ones proposed by FLASOG. Results: 100% of undergraduate programs evaluated include the following topics in their curriculum: birth control methods, abortion, maternal morbidity and mortality and 36.4% include sexual health in the elderly. 100% of graduate programs evaluated include: birth control methods, maternal morbidity and mortality, abortion, and healthy maternity and 55.6% include legal pregnancy termination and sexual health in the elderly. Conclusions: All the higher education programs evaluated have teachers for sexual and reproductive health, but the majority of institutions (76.9%) do not have a formal process for evaluation and feedback. All the universities include in their undergraduate programs the following topics: abortion, birth control methods and maternal morbidity and mortality; these have high impact in sexual and reproductive health in women. Contrarily, topics such as legal termination of pregnancy are only included in 2 out of 3 universities evaluated, and sexual health in the elderly is rarely included in the curriculum. Going Beyond Counting First Authors in Author Co-citation Analysis

counts are defined. Co-citation counting provides the data on which all subsequent statistical analyses and mappings
are based, and we compare ACA results based on two different types of co-citation counting - the traditional type that
only counts the first one among a cited work's authors on the one hand and a non-traditional type that takes into
account the first 5 authors of a cited work on the other hand. Results indicate that the picture produced through this non-traditional author co-citation counting contains more coherent author groups and is therefore considerably clearer. However, this picture represents fewer specialties in the research field being studied than that produced through the traditional first-author co-citation counting when the same number of top-ranked authors is selected and analyzed. Reasons for these effects are discussed
Variations on the Author
Get PDF“Variations on the Author” discusses two of Eduardo Coutinho’s recent films (Um Dia na Vida, from 2010, and Últimas Conversas, posthumously released in 2015) and their contribution to the general question of documentary authorship. The director’s filmography is characterized by a consistent yet self-effacing form of authorial self-inscription: Coutinho often features as an interviewer that rather than express opinions propels discourses; an interviewer that is good at listening. This mode of self-inscription characterizes him as an author who is not expressive but who is nonetheless markedly present on the screen. In Um Dia na Vida, however, Coutinho is completely absent form the image, while Últimas Conversas, on the contrary, includes a confessional prologue that moves the director from the margins to the center of his films. This article examines the ways in which these works stand out in the filmography of a director who offers new insights into the notion of cinematic authorship
Appropriate Similarity Measures for Author Cocitation Analysis
Get PDFWe provide a number of new insights into the methodological discussion about author cocitation analysis. We first argue that the use of the Pearson correlation for measuring the similarity between authors’ cocitation profiles is not very satisfactory. We then discuss what kind of similarity measures may be used as an alternative to the Pearson correlation. We consider three similarity measures in particular. One is the well-known cosine. The other two similarity measures have not been used before in the bibliometric literature. Note that the objective for the hut study was to evaluate the IRS treatment applications for residual efficacy against Anopheles mosquitoes, including the local An. coluzzii mosquito population. Cows were only used to attract mosquitoes into the huts and no tests were carried out directly on the cows. The author checklist is intended for use with studies where experiments are carried out on animals, which is why we have had such difficulty in completing this for the hut study, as many of the questions do not relate to how the cows were used
