No full textHukum Internasional mengajarkan beberapa cara perluasan wilayah negara, yaitu pendudukan,aneksasi, sesi, akresi dan preskripsi. Perluasan wilayah negara dengan cara-cara klasik ini sering menimbulkan konflik antar negara yang penyelesaiannya pada umumnya dilakukan dengan cara kekerasan dan atau damai yang proses penyelesaiannya biasanya berlarut-larut, kecuali akresi. Sebenarnya sejaktahun 1982, masyarakat internasional telah menyetujui suatu cara perluasan wilayah negara, yaitu melalui "United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea". Perluasan wilayah negara ini lebih sebagai wilayah perluasan wilayah laut.</jats:p
