Podatki so bili zbrani s pomočjo vprašalnika in primerjalne analize. The thesis examines the effect of post-training massage on the well-being, regeneration, and athletic performance of volleyball players. The purpose of the research was to determine whether regular massage contributes to faster regeneration, better subjective well-being, and higher sports performance. Several volleyball players participated in the study, divided into an experimental group (which received regular massages) and a control group (which did not receive massages). Results were measured by survey questionnaire. Results showed that massage helps most athletes relax, recover faster, and reduce muscle tension. However, there were differences among individuals, with some experiencing the massage as very positive, while others had a less pronounced effect. Despite this, massage appears to be a useful addition to the training process. Research has shown that regular massage as part of training can have a positive effect on the physical fitness and mental well-being of athletes

Reflection on the primary school education plan

    No full text
More than ten years ago the amendments to the Elementary School Act were implemented which made the educational plan mandatory by law in each elementary school. The purpose of an educational plan is higher quality of educational activities in elementary schools. Some schools had already been using their versions of educational plans while others faced an unknown challenge. In order to offer support and guidance as well as for the purpose of unifying educational plans in elementary schools, the Ministry of Education issued the Guidelines on the creation and implementation of the educational plan in elementary schools. In that manner, the schools were offered guidelines on the contents of their educational plans. The schools reacted differently. Some of them saw the educational plan as just another mandatory document while others were able to make it very concrete and adjust it to their needs. The latter have found the educational plan a useful document which contributes to the improved quality of educational activities in public elementary schools. The thesis analyses an actual educational plan from one of the Slovenian elementary schools by means of quantitative-qualitative research. Based on the criteria, the author defines whether the educational plan of the selected school includes only the topics required by the law or additional topics that enable higher quality of educational activities performed by teachers and other school professionals. Beside the analysis of the document, the author conducted interviews with various school professionals: the headmaster, the school counsellor and three teachers. Based on the research findings and the reflexion, the author suggested relevant general guidelines for complementing the selected elementary school educational plan

Z raziskavo smo prišli do ugotovitev, da so udeleženci s pozitivno izkušnjo skupinskega terapevtskega pristopa skupino oz. njeno vlogo v terapevtskem procesu doživljali izjemno podporno. Group therapy is an established form of psychotherapy where members of the group meet regularly under the supervision of expert leadership in confidential and supportive environment. The author of the master\u27s thesis has researched experiences of the members who have experienced group therapy because of their stress and anxiety issues as well as the role of the group through the eyes of the therapists who practise group therapy. The first part of the thesis presents the theoretical frame for anxiety and stress as well as their symptomatology and causes. The development of the concepts through history has also been presented and using of the terms in clinical practice. Anxiety and stress delineate from other similar phenomena in the theoretical part. Group therapy has been exposed as one of the efficient psychotherapeutic practices. The historical overview of using group therapies and its development has been presented as well as its usefulness in modern time. Group therapy has been theoretically presented from the point of view of group dynamics and therapeutic factors, which work in it and take the credit for development in a group on the level of individuals and the group itself. In the empirical part, the author has used phenomenological method, which is based on personal perspective of the phenomenon. The author has got the information about the experiences of the group role in the therapeutic process when coping with anxiety and stress with the method of half-structured interviews. She focused mainly on questions in connection with group dynamics and its role. The results of the research have shown how the participants of the therapy and the therapists experience the group role and its dynamics. Predominantly, we have focused on group experiences and how the group supported the participants. With the research, we have concluded that the participants have had a positive experience of group therapeutic approach and its supportive role. The group spirit and the feeling of alliance have developed, which is of crucial meaning for the therapeutic group role

Cilji diplomskega dela so bili preučiti portretno fotografijo, preveriti katere nastavitve fotoaparata najbolj ustrezajo pri fotografiranju z UV-svetlobo in spoznati delovanje fluorescentnih barv pod UV-svetlobo. Teoretični del vsebuje kratek pregled portretne fotografije, posebnosti, ki veljajo pri njeni izdelavi, opis UV-svetlobe in fluorescentnih barv. Eksperimentalni del predstavlja sklop desetih portretov z UV-svetlobnim učinkom, posnetih z zrcalnorefleksnim fotoaparatom. The diploma thesis entitled Portrait Photography with UV-light Effects deals with a portrait photoshoot under a UV-light. The purpose of the diploma thesis was to use the knowledge acquired during the research of the theoretical work in carrying out the experimental work. The aim of the diploma thesis was to examine portrait photography, to check which camera settings best fit when photographing under UV-light and to learn about fluorescent colours. The theorethical part contains a brief overview of portrait photography, special features that apply to its production, a description of UV-light and fluorescent colours. The experimental part represents a set of ten portraits with UV-light effect photographed with a mirror-reflex camera. Photographs show models that have different fluorescent body colours applied on their body and are illuminated mostly with UV-light only. They were taken in the studio and were afterwards photoshoped to adjust the colours. Each photograph was evaluated by visual analysis, which allows different observations and evaluations of the photographseach of the photographs was also described with the technical characteristics. By implementing the theoretical part in the experimental it was found that the basic rules of photography remain the same in all photographs, but the final result was influenced primarily by the vision of the author and his preferences

Development of non-linguistic communication at the second stage of NTC-learning

Children learn a lot through games if the games are designed properly. It's great for child's development and for their brain development. During childhood, children are formed into students, in this way they get to know each other and form values. In my diploma work, I tested the NTC-learning method, the author of which is dr. Ranko Rajović. The diploma thesis entitled Development of non-linguistic communication at the second stage of NTC-learning, consists of theoretical and empirical work. In the theoretical part I presented the development of the child's non-linguistic communication, what is non-linguistic communiction and how it manifests itself in the child. I described how a child's brain develops, how it works and how the NTC-learning system affects a child's brain. I also introduced NTC-learnin and in more detail described the second stage. For the empirical part, I took into observation a group of 24 children aged 4-5 years. In this group, I performed NTC activities daily for four weeks. The activities I carried out were the activities that dr. Ranko Rajović prescribes in the second stage of NTC-learning. Through child's games we looked for associations to different objects or colors, from different pictures we composed illogical creations, made up illogical stories and learned to recite songs through pictures. With all of these activities, I was interested in how a child's non-linguistic communication will develop, whether it will change, whether children will be more open and more thoughtful after their brains work differently than they normally do. When something is illogical, our brains include additional cognitive capacities for analysis - whether it is real or not. These reserve capacities represent our potencials. During the activities I observed the children in detail and monitored their progress with a checklist on non-linguistic communication. I filled out a checklist for each child before the start of the activity, after two weeks of implementation and after the end of the implementation, thus gaining insight into their potential progress

Ecofeminism has been around since the nineteen-seventies but has recently been gaining renewed attention in the face of the present ecological crisis. Thus, ecofeminist perspectives are expanding to other scientific fields such as literature. Recently, various ecofeminist methodological approaches have formed, including the literary ecofeminist analysis suggested by Eva Antón Fernández\u27s article Claves ecofeministas para el análisis literario (2017). The article suggests guidelines for an ecofeminist analysis of literary texts and bases its content on the so-called critical ecofeminism, the author of which is a Spanish professor, philosopher and ecofeminist, Alicia H. Puleo. The paper focuses on both the synchronic as well as the diachronic aspect of ecofeminism, while first defining ecofeminism and explaining the connection between ecology and feminism. The paper then examines the history of the development of ecofeminism as well as the different types and movements of ecofeminism. In the practical analysis, the paper analyses two contemporary Spanish novels, Lágrimas en la lluvia (Tears in Rain) by Rosa Montero and El mundo de Yarek (Yarek\u27s World) by Elia Barceló by applying the aforementioned ecofeminist methodological approach

Political Transformations in the Interwar Period: The Case of Slovenian Political Thought

    No full text
Political Transformations in the Interwar Period: The Case of Slovenian Political Thought, edited by Isidora Grubački and Marko Zajc, is a scholarly reader produced within the Political History Program at the Institute of Contemporary History in Ljubljana. The volume presents English translations of sixteen primary sources of Slovenian political thought from the interwar period, selected by nine contributing authors. Each source is accompanied by a biographical note on the author and a contextual introduction situating the text within its historical, political, and intellectual setting. The reader grew out of a collaborative workshop held in Ljubljana in April 2024, where specialists in the history of political thought in East Central Europe discussed possible source selections and their broader relevance. Rather than offering a comprehensive overview, the editors explicitly aimed to move beyond a simplified historiographic division of interwar Slovenian political thought into Catholic, liberal, and Marxist camps. Contributors were encouraged to contextualize the selected texts within wider Yugoslav and transnational frameworks and to reflect current research interests in the field. The resulting selection highlights political thought as a dynamic response to profound transformations brought about by the collapse of empires, the formation of new states, and the crisis of liberal parliamentary systems in the interwar years. The volume also reflects recent methodological trends, including an expanded definition of political thought, a broader range of source types, and attention to themes that have previously received limited attention in Slovenian national historiography. The sixteen annotated primary sources together map the diversity of Slovenian political thought in the interwar period and its entanglement with Yugoslav and transnational debates. The selection spans agrarian, socialist, communist, liberal, republican, Catholic, and feminist traditions, addressing central themes such as the agrarian and social questions (Jože Srebrnič, Dragotin Godina), republicanism and socialism (Albin Prepeluh, Etbin Kristan), and competing interpretations of the national and Yugoslav questions (Albert Hlebec, Ljubomir Dušanov Jurković, Andrej Uršič, Josip Vilfan). Several contributions foreground leftist and Popular Front contexts, including communist and left-Catholic engagements with nationalism and international politics (Angela Vode, Leopoldina Kos, Edvard Kocbek), while others broaden the scope of political thought through cultural, bodily, and gendered perspectives, such as Zofka Kveder’s Yugoslavist literary intervention, Viktor Murnik’s reflections on physical culture, and Minka Govekar’s feminist analysis of housework. Dr Maria Falina emphasizes the accessibility and research value of the reader, observing that it “introduces important texts to the reading public and makes them accessible not only through translation, but also by placing them in historical context and by providing short intellectual biography sketches of the authors.” She further praises the editors’ introduction as offering “an original and very convincing framing of how ‘national’ political thought can be conceptualised,” and welcomes the volume’s expanded approach to political thought, which she describes as “a model of how sources for political thought can be approached and analysed.” In Dr Marco Bresciani’s assessment, “perhaps the most important scientific achievement of this volume concerns the crucial link, which has been carefully investigated, between the contingent, situational transformation of political and geopolitical contexts, both regional and international, and the development of an ever-evolving political thought.” He also highlights the value of the essays that shed new light on key interwar debates, noting their contribution to understanding issues such as “the ‘women’s issue’, the ‘minority issue’, the ‘social issue’ and the ‘national issue’.”  Political Transformations in the Interwar Period: The Case of Slovenian Political Thought, edited by Isidora Grubački and Marko Zajc, is a scholarly reader produced within the Political History Program at the Institute of Contemporary History in Ljubljana. Studies on anti-inflammatory and vasoactive effects of mPGES-1 inhibition

    No full text
Inflammation is the basis for various serious illnesses such as rheumatic diseases, cardiovascular diseases, and cancer. Prostaglandin E2 (PGE2) is a pro-inflammatory lipid mediator produced by cyclooxygenases (COX1/2) and the microsomal prostaglandin E synthase 1 (mPGES-1). Nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDS) targeting COX successfully reduce pain and inflammation. However, gastrointestinal and cardiovascular side effects associated with blockade of all prostaglandins limit their use. Selective inhibition of mPGES-1 is an alternative therapeutic strategy to impede PGE2 production while sparing or even upregulating other lipid mediators. When and where the shunting of PGH2 to other prostanoids occurs and whether it interferes with or contributes to the therapeutic effects of mPGES-1 inhibition is not fully understood. The overall aim of this thesis was to study the anti-inflammatory and vasoactive effects of mPGES-1 inhibition in models of inflammation and cardiovascular disease and to investigate the possible shunting of PGH2 to PGD2 and PGI2. The methodological approach was principally based on liquid chromatography-tandem mass spectrometry, biochemical assays as well as wire-myography.In Paper I five new mPGES-1 inhibitors were characterized. The inhibitors selectively suppressed PGE2 formation in in-vitro and in-vivo assays, reduced acute paw swelling in rats, and reduced adrenergic vasoconstriction. The results of this study serve as a basis for the application of these inhibitors in pre-clinical research. Depletion of mPGES-1 may lead to the re-direction of PGH2 into the PGD2/15-deoxy-Δ12,14-PGJ2 (15dPGJ2) pathway, which has been described to be anti-inflammatory and pro-resolving. In Paper II, we studied the biosynthesis and metabolism of 15dPGJ2 via conjugation to glutathione in immune cells and upon inhibition of mPGES-1. The results of this study demonstrate the formation of 15dPGJ2-glutathione and 15dPGJ2-cysteine conjugates in immune cells, the involvement of MGST3 in this pathway and the preservation of the PGD2/15dPGJ2 pathway upon inhibition of mPGES-1. Another important aspect of mPGES-1 inhibition is the redirection of excess PGH2 into the PGI2 pathway. A decrease in PGI2 levels as a result of COX-2 inhibition has been associated with increased cardiovascular risk in patients treated with selective NSAIDs. In Paper III we aimed to study the effects of mPGES-1 inhibition on human resistance arteries. Inhibition of mPGES- 1 significantly reduced adrenergic vasoconstriction and enhanced relaxation. Our results suggest that multiple pathways in addition to shunting to PGI2 may be involved in the vasoactive effects of mPGES-1 inhibition in human microcirculation. In Paper IV we studied the effects of mPGES-1 inhibition in a mouse model of MI. The results of this study indicate that pharmacological inhibition of mPGES-1 could improve cardiac function after MI and increase the PGI2/PGE2 metabolite ratio in urine compared with controls. The results from this thesis contribute to a better understanding of the mechanisms underlying the effects seen after inhibition of mPGES-1 in models of inflammation and cardiovascular disease.List of scientific papersI.
