Going Beyond Counting First Authors in Author Co-citation Analysis
Get PDFThe present study examines one of the fundamental aspects of author co-citation analysis (ACA) - the way co-citation
counts are defined. Co-citation counting provides the data on which all subsequent statistical analyses and mappings
are based, and we compare ACA results based on two different types of co-citation counting - the traditional type that
only counts the first one among a cited work's authors on the one hand and a non-traditional type that takes into
account the first 5 authors of a cited work on the other hand. Results indicate that the picture produced through this non-traditional author co-citation counting contains more coherent author groups and is therefore considerably clearer. However, this picture represents fewer specialties in the research field being studied than that produced through the traditional first-author co-citation counting when the same number of top-ranked authors is selected and analyzed. Reasons for these effects are discussed

En 2016, dès que doctorant, il écrivait : «La figure de l’ingénieur est une problématique à part entière. Sa facture en détient les clefs. La focale des Associations étudiantes est l’entrée principale de ce doctorat. Le cadre associatif est un observatoire intéressant de la métamorphose des élèves en ingénieurs, professionnels diplômés. La compréhension des étapes est la sine qua non pour analyser les activités associatives estudiantines, identifier les construits identitaires, découvrir la professionnalisation. L’associatif d’école modèle l’élève pour sa future sociabilité. Comprendre le rôle des associations étudiantes est l’enjeu de cette recherche restreinte au cadre temporel des professionnalité et professionnalisation». Ici, la vision de l’ingénierie est historique, légale, spatiale, humaine. Où ils agissent, les acteurs sont décrits dans leurs rôles, charges et actes. Toujours en rapport à l’associatif. Les concepts utilisés éclairent les lieux et processus qui métamorphosent l’élève en professionnel. Terrain et recherche se déclinent en trois temps. Un collaboratif d’écoute par entretiens semi-directifs. Un transcrit intégral pour éclairer la parole collective. Des enseignements qui répondent aux hypothèses. Get PDF“Variations on the Author” discusses two of Eduardo Coutinho’s recent films (Um Dia na Vida, from 2010, and Últimas Conversas, posthumously released in 2015) and their contribution to the general question of documentary authorship. The director’s filmography is characterized by a consistent yet self-effacing form of authorial self-inscription: Coutinho often features as an interviewer that rather than express opinions propels discourses; an interviewer that is good at listening. This mode of self-inscription characterizes him as an author who is not expressive but who is nonetheless markedly present on the screen. In Um Dia na Vida, however, Coutinho is completely absent form the image, while Últimas Conversas, on the contrary, includes a confessional prologue that moves the director from the margins to the center of his films. This article examines the ways in which these works stand out in the filmography of a director who offers new insights into the notion of cinematic authorship
Appropriate Similarity Measures for Author Cocitation Analysis
Get PDFWe provide a number of new insights into the methodological discussion about author cocitation analysis. We first argue that the use of the Pearson correlation for measuring the similarity between authors’ cocitation profiles is not very satisfactory. We then discuss what kind of similarity measures may be used as an alternative to the Pearson correlation. We consider three similarity measures in particular. One is the well-known cosine. The other two similarity measures have not been used before in the bibliometric literature. No full textDepuis décembre 2006 le Parlement européen et le Conseil de l’Union européenne ont adopté des recommandations sur les compétences clés pour l’éducation et la formation tout au long de la vie. En janvier 2018, l’accent est mis sur l’amélioration des compétences clés, c’est celle du développement de l’esprit d’entreprise et d’innovation qui nous intéressera pour l’écriture de cette thèse. Dans le cadre d’une formation tout au long de la vie, la professionnalisation concerne plus particulièrement la formation des adultes qui doivent désormais travailler plus de quarante années. La 7ème compétence clé du socle commun de compétences de Bruxelles concerne l’esprit d’initiative et d’entreprise : l’aptitude à passer des idées aux actes par la créativité, l’innovation et une prise de risque, ainsi que la capacité de programmer de gérer des projets. La notion de risque sera abordée selon différents points de vue notamment celui des porteurs de projets qui choisiront la permaculture. La fleur permaculturelle, l’éthique des vertus, la pensée critique, la pensée globale seront abordés dans une approche systémique et holistique telle que celle mise en œuvre par les porteurs de projet et entrepreneurs en permaculture.Les notions de valeur, de compétence et leurs changements seront mis en perspective avec l’identité, la professionnalisation, dans le cadre plus global d’une recherche de sens à donner à la vie. Dans la période de chômage, de crise économique et sociale, de changements politiques, la COVID 19 a créé de nouvelles contraintes qui seront également prises en compte lors de l’analyse des observations. Cette thèse est une approche exploratoire du changement identitaire du porteur de projet lors de la création d’une entreprise. Elle correspond à un point de vue à un moment de mon propre parcours de vie. Elle se propose de contribuer à la compréhension des facteurs qui interviennent lors du processus de changement de vie professionnelle. Entre déprofessionnalisation liée à l’ancien métier et processus de professionnalisation dans lequel va s’inscrire le changement identitaire et l’acquisition de compétences, le processus de réorientation de la vie professionnelle sera notamment observé d’un point de vue philosophique, sans négliger la conception ontologique de l’être humain qui devrait lui permettre de donner de la cohérence au sens de sa vie. Les aspects multifactoriels et multimodaux des compétences acquises ainsi que les composantes de l’identité professionnelle font l’objet de données recueillies lors d’une quinzaine d’entretiens dont une dizaine spécifiquement réalisée auprès de permaculteurs. Cette analyse tente de mettre en évidence la perception de l’identité professionnelle et son incidence sur le processus de décision de changement. L’acquisition de nouvelles compétences est observée comme conséquence du programme de la commission européenne.Since December 2006 the European Parliament and the Council of the European Union adopted recommendations on key competencies for lifelong learning. In January 2018, focus is on improving key skills, the development of entrepreneurship and innovation will interest us for the writing of this thesis. In the context of lifelong training, professionalization more particularly concerns the training of adults who now have to work for more than forty years. The 7th key skill of the Brussels common core of skills concerns the spirit of initiative and enterprise: the ability to put ideas into action through creativity, innovation and risk-taking, as well as the ability to program to manage projects. The notion of risk will be approached from different points of view, in particular that of project leaders who choose permaculture. The permacultural flower, the ethics of virtues, critical thinking, global thinking will be addressed in a systemic and holistic approach such as that implemented by project leaders and entrepreneurs in permaculture. The notions of value, competence and their changes will be put into perspective with identity, professionalization, in the more global framework of a search for meaning to be given to human existence. In the period of unemployment, economic and social crisis, political changes, COVID 19 has created new constraints which will also be taken into account when analyzing the observations. This thesis is an exploratory approach to the change of identity of the project leader during the creation of a company. It corresponds to a point of view at a moment of my own life course. It proposes to contribute to the understanding of the factors which intervene during the process of change of professional life. Between deprofessionalization linked to the old profession and the process of professionalization in which the change of identity and the acquisition of skills will take place, the process of reorientation of professional life will be observed in particular from a philosophical point of view, without neglecting the ontological conception of the human being which should enable him to give coherence to the meaning of his life. The multifactorial and multimodal aspects of the skills acquired as well as the components of professional identity are the subject of data collected during fifteen interviews, ten of which were specifically carried out with permaculturists.This analysis attempts to highlight the perception of professional identity and its impact on the change decision process.
