CO-WORKERS SUPPORT AND JOB PERFORMANCE
In the context of a global pandemic affecting businesses worldwide, management focus is oriented to what would enhance the employees’ work performance even in crisis situations. This paper aims to identify, explore and explain the relationships between social support, task performance and organizational citizenship behaviour as well as different demographic data which might influence these variables. The final goal is to propose relevant solutions and recommendations for managers and practitioners in human resources which could be easily applied and have a major impact on individual performance as well as on the overall performance of the organization. The quantitative research is based on a sociological survey consisting of two standardized questionnaires based on tested Likert scales measuring co-workers perceived support, employees’ task performance and organizational citizenship behaviour. The sample consists of 300 pairs of employees and their direct supervisors working in services companies based in Romania. The survey’s results are analysed by performing correlation and regression analyses in JASP 0.14.1.0 free software. The results show positive relationships between the variables yet it proves that co-workers’ support is not relevant for task performance. Valuable information regarding OCB and task performance can be added to the previous job performance research. Statistically significant relationships with demographic data could not be obtained. Further studies might consider a larger sample consisting of Europeans in more than one country as well as comparative analyses between countries and companies’ fields of activity.

GREEN HRM AND CSR AS ANTECEDENTS OF ORGANISATION FINANCIAL GROWTH
This paper aims to examine the impact of green HRM and corporate social responsibility on financial performance growth, measured by profit, revenue, ROA, and ROE growth. To test the hypotheses, we employed ordinary least squares (OLS) regression analysis. The findings revealed that green HRM is a significant predictor of growth indicators, including profit, ROA, and ROE. Furthermore, contrary to our expectations, the implementation of CSR practices negatively impacts the firm’s potential for economic growth. The empirical evidence shows that CSR is positively associated only with revenue growth. This study contributes to the literature by examining the debated impact of green HRM and CSR on financial performance growth while also offering valuable insights for practitioners and policymakers.

Going Beyond Counting First Authors in Author Co-citation Analysis
The present study examines one of the fundamental aspects of author co-citation analysis (ACA) - the way co-citation
counts are defined. Co-citation counting provides the data on which all subsequent statistical analyses and mappings
are based, and we compare ACA results based on two different types of co-citation counting - the traditional type that
only counts the first one among a cited work's authors on the one hand and a non-traditional type that takes into
account the first 5 authors of a cited work on the other hand. Results indicate that the picture produced through this non-traditional author co-citation counting contains more coherent author groups and is therefore considerably clearer. However, this picture represents fewer specialties in the research field being studied than that produced through the traditional first-author co-citation counting when the same number of top-ranked authors is selected and analyzed. Reasons for these effects are discussed
Innovation Development Needs in Manufacturing Companies
AbstractThe manufacturing sector in Romania has undergone great challenges during the last decades. The globalization process has lead to a severe decrease in the demand for the Romanian manufacturing sector. Thus, in particular the small enterprises need to focus on identifying innovative solutions for surviving the competition. The present paper aims to explore the innovation development needs of Romanian manufacturing companies. Bearing in mind the findings brought by the analyses performed on technology focused manufacturing companies, the paper sheds light on the development needs expressed by Romanian manufacturing companies with regard innovation. The research methodology is based on a quantitative survey applied on small manufacturing companies. The questionnaire was developed based on the literature review and on qualitative interviews conducted with owners of small companies. The research instrument was applied on 30 small and medium size companies in the Cluj county. The survey measured the development needs of the companies with respect products or services, information and communication technologies, technology issues, leadership, organization structure, work process, employees’ skills, work conditions, team work, cooperation with other companies, and wage system. Next, the research instrument explored the companies’ perceived development needs in order to foster innovation. When finding new ideas for developing the workplace, the most frequently used methods reside in using the internet (85%), followed by customers (83%). Study results and scientific publications, universities, research institutes, or other authorities are less often valued by the surveyed companies. The paper identifies some of the main information sources used by companies in order to innovate. The results show that the companies value less the scientific oriented sources, which might be a cause for the low innovation outcomes. The paper brings light on the relationship between education and technological innovation practices implemented in small and medium manufacturing companies
Variations on the Author
“Variations on the Author” discusses two of Eduardo Coutinho’s recent films (Um Dia na Vida, from 2010, and Últimas Conversas, posthumously released in 2015) and their contribution to the general question of documentary authorship. The director’s filmography is characterized by a consistent yet self-effacing form of authorial self-inscription: Coutinho often features as an interviewer that rather than express opinions propels discourses; an interviewer that is good at listening. This mode of self-inscription characterizes him as an author who is not expressive but who is nonetheless markedly present on the screen. In Um Dia na Vida, however, Coutinho is completely absent form the image, while Últimas Conversas, on the contrary, includes a confessional prologue that moves the director from the margins to the center of his films. This article examines the ways in which these works stand out in the filmography of a director who offers new insights into the notion of cinematic authorship
Appropriate Similarity Measures for Author Cocitation Analysis
We provide a number of new insights into the methodological discussion about author cocitation analysis. We first argue that the use of the Pearson correlation for measuring the similarity between authors’ cocitation profiles is not very satisfactory. We then discuss what kind of similarity measures may be used as an alternative to the Pearson correlation. We consider three similarity measures in particular. One is the well-known cosine. The other two similarity measures have not been used before in the bibliometric literature. Finally, we show by means of an example that our findings have a high practical relevance.information science;Pearson correlation;cosine;similarity measure;author cocitation analysis
The role of work-life balance practices in order to improve organizational performance
Well known in the literature as work life balance, the quality relationship between paid work and unpaid responsibilities is critical for success in today’s competitive business world. The issue of work-life balance has been developed in response to demographic, economic and cultural changes. The purpose of this paper is to establish whether work-life balance initiatives and practices can be considered as strategic human resource management decisions that can translate into improved individual and organizational performance. The results of a number of studies reviewed in this paper show the outcomes and the benefits of implementing worklife balance practices not only for employees themselves, but also for their families, organizations and society. Despite the fact that work-life conflict has significant business costs associated with lack of engagement, absenteeism, turnover rates, low productivity and creativity or poor retention levels, there are some factors of organizational work-life culture that may compromise availability and use of these practices What are the challenges for research and practice in the future? In the end of the article we propose several suggestions (guidelines) in order to improve our understanding, choice, implementation and effectiveness of work-life practices.peer-reviewe
Dispelling the Myths Behind First-author Citation Counts
We conducted a full-scale evaluative citation analysis study of scholars in the XML research field to explore just how different from each other author rankings resulting from different citation counting methods actually are, and to demonstrate the capability of emerging data and tools on the Web in supporting more realistic citation counting methods. Our results contest some common arguments for the continued
use of first-author citation counts in the evaluation of scholars, such as high correlations between author rankings by first-author citation counts and other citation
counting methods, and high costs of using more realistic citation counting methods that are not well-supported by the ISI databases. It is argued that increasingly available digital full text research papers make it possible for citation analysis studies to go beyond what the ISI databases have directly supported and to employ more
sophisticated methods
