No full textLAUREA MAGISTRALEIl contesto operativo odierno è caratterizzato da clienti che richiedono, in maniera crescente, prodotti in tempi brevi, di qualità adeguata ed a prezzi competitivi, forzando in questo modo le aziende ad affrontare una sfida che è tutto fuorché semplice: superare il compromesso efficienza – flessibilità tradizionalmente identificato nella letteratura (Adler, Goldoftas, & Levine, 1999). La risposta a questa sfida è costituita dal passaggio strategico verso il modello della mass customisation, il quale permette di fornire prodotti costruiti su misura del cliente a prezzi competitivi, tipici della produzione di massa (Davis, 1989). Questo è ciò che sta succedendo oggi anche nelle aziende che lavorano su commessa (i.e. ETO), dove produttori di beni tecnologicamente avanzati e personalizzabili stanno implementando l’approccio della mass customisation, avendo in questo modo un metodo di lavoro più organizzato e non dedicato esclusivamente allo sviluppo di prodotti su richiesta dei clienti (Hicks, McGovern and Earl, 2000). In particolare, la letteratura ha più volte sottolineato come, all’interno della transizione ETO – mass customisation, giochi un ruolo chiave l’implementazione di un particolare tipo di sistema informativo, ossia il configuratore di prodotto (Piller and Blazek, 2014). Tuttavia, se da un lato il mondo accademico ha analizzato nel dettaglio i benefici ed i problemi che questo sistema può comportare, dall’altro lato molto poco è stato fatto per comprendere come dovrebbe agire un’azienda che lavora su commessa per rendere il proprio progetto di implementazione del configuratore di successo. Perciò, la seguente analisi punta a colmare questa lacuna, attraverso una ricerca basata su casi studio condotti all’interno di aziende operanti su commessa e appartenenti ai settori aerospaziale e delle lavorazioni meccaniche. Il risultato di questa ricerca è rappresentato dallo sviluppo di un modello, il cui obiettivo è quello di descrivere come un’azienda che lavora su commessa dovrebbe organizzare il proprio progetto di implementazione del configuratore di prodotto, partendo dalle basi fino ad arrivare alla gestione giornaliera del sistema. Infine, questo studio ha permesso anche di far luce su una variabile critica che può condurre i progetti di implementazione dei configuratori verso il fallimento, offrendo in questo modo ulteriori possibilità di ricerca.In today’s business environment, customers increasingly demand customized products with short delivery lead times, adequate quality, and competitive prices, forcing companies to face a challenge that is anything but straightforward: i.e. to overcome the flexibility – efficiency trade-off, traditionally identified in the literature (Adler, Goldoftas, & Levine, 1999). The answer that firms are supporting in the last years is the strategic movement towards the mass customisation paradigm, which consists of providing tailor-made products with the low unit costs associated with mass production (Davis, 1989). This is precisely what is happening today in engineer-to-order (ETO) environments, where manufacturers of technologically advanced and customised products are implementing the mass customisation method, having, in this way, a steady approach towards the market, instead of developing products only to meet customers’ requirements (Hicks, McGovern and Earl, 2000). Particularly, the literature has stressed that one of the key factors in the transition ETO – mass customisation is represented by the implementation of a well-determined type of IT system, namely the configurator (Piller and Blazek, 2014). However, if on the one hand, the academic world had analysed in detail the benefits and the drawbacks that this system implies, on the other hand very little has been done to comprehend how an ETO company should act to make configurator’s implementation projects successful. Consequently, this study aims at filling this gap through an explanatory multiple case studies research, carried out in enterprises of the machining and aerospace sectors. The result of this study is represented by a framework, whose goal is to describe how an ETO company should organise its configurator’s implementation project, starting from the fundamentals up to day-by-day management. Finally, this research allowed also to shed light on an important critical variable that may lead to configurator’s implementation projects failure, offering further research opportunities in this field
Going Beyond Counting First Authors in Author Co-citation Analysis

counts are defined. Co-citation counting provides the data on which all subsequent statistical analyses and mappings
are based, and we compare ACA results based on two different types of co-citation counting - the traditional type that
only counts the first one among a cited work's authors on the one hand and a non-traditional type that takes into
account the first 5 authors of a cited work on the other hand. Results indicate that the picture produced through this non-traditional author co-citation counting contains more coherent author groups and is therefore considerably clearer. However, this picture represents fewer specialties in the research field being studied than that produced through the traditional first-author co-citation counting when the same number of top-ranked authors is selected and analyzed. Variations on the Author
Get PDF“Variations on the Author” discusses two of Eduardo Coutinho’s recent films (Um Dia na Vida, from 2010, and Últimas Conversas, posthumously released in 2015) and their contribution to the general question of documentary authorship. The director’s filmography is characterized by a consistent yet self-effacing form of authorial self-inscription: Coutinho often features as an interviewer that rather than express opinions propels discourses; an interviewer that is good at listening. This mode of self-inscription characterizes him as an author who is not expressive but who is nonetheless markedly present on the screen. In Um Dia na Vida, however, Coutinho is completely absent form the image, while Últimas Conversas, on the contrary, includes a confessional prologue that moves the director from the margins to the center of his films. This article examines the ways in which these works stand out in the filmography of a director who offers new insights into the notion of cinematic authorship
Appropriate Similarity Measures for Author Cocitation Analysis
Get PDFWe provide a number of new insights into the methodological discussion about author cocitation analysis. We first argue that the use of the Pearson correlation for measuring the similarity between authors’ cocitation profiles is not very satisfactory. We then discuss what kind of similarity measures may be used as an alternative to the Pearson correlation. We consider three similarity measures in particular. One is the well-known cosine. The other two similarity measures have not been used before in the bibliometric literature. Note that the objective for the hut study was to evaluate the IRS treatment applications for residual efficacy against Anopheles mosquitoes, including the local An. coluzzii mosquito population. Cows were only used to attract mosquitoes into the huts and no tests were carried out directly on the cows. The author checklist is intended for use with studies where experiments are carried out on animals, which is why we have had such difficulty in completing this for the hut study, as many of the questions do not relate to how the cows were used
