Desafios da gestão de um empreendimento solidário: um estudo de caso da ASSER – Associação de Catadores de Materiais Recicláveis de São Lourenço do Sul
Get PDFDissertação (mestrado)A partir dos anos 1990 o Brasil foi marcado por diversas mudanças do mercado de trabalho, como desemprego e precarização do trabalho, fatores que, somados à desigualdade social, historicamente existentes no país. Esses fatores tornaram-se cada vez mais forte a formação de iniciativas de economia solidária que surgem com a perspectiva de superar as condições imposta pelo capitalismo. É uma forma alternativa de promover a atividade econômica por meio dos empreendimentos que tende a diferenciar dos modelos capitalistas de organizações essencialmente pelo uso de práticas democráticas, igualitárias, solidariedade, cooperação e na sua gestão e pela aplicação da autogestão, que consiste na participação dos membros do empreendimento, pois compete a todos(as) a responsabilidade de planejar, executar e controlar os processos. Os EES’s trabalham na perspectiva de eliminar a submissão e a separação entre o(a) proprietário(a) e os(as) trabalhadores(as), bem como a visão utilitarista sobre o trabalhador(a). No entanto esse processo para os EES’s é mais complexo e quando este empreendimento é do ramo as reciclagens, essa complexidade é aumentada, pois se deparam com inúmeros desafios como o de garantirem a promoção da sustentabilidade financeira, assim como o trabalho coletivo dos meios de produção, a gestão democrática, a cooperação e autogestão, o que repercute em sua própria sobrevivência. Assim, o presente trabalho tem como objetivo analisar as questões sócio-organizacionais de um empreendimento solidário, conhecendo a sua dinâmica e contradições, de como podem funcionar como mecanismo de inserção econômica e social. Na intenção de contribuir com esse debate, foi realizada este estudo, que tem por base a perspectiva qualitativa e configura-se como um estudo de caso, sendo uma associação de catadores(as) de materiais recicláveis do município de São Lourenço do Sul, na região Sul do Rio Grande do Sul. Portanto, o percurso metodológico consistiu em quatro fases: (a) contato com os(as) catadores(as); (b) realização das entrevistas; (c) documentos disponibilizados pela associação e pelo projeto de extensão e (d) utilização da análise de conteúdo para proceder à análise dos dados. Desta forma, foi apresentado o processo histórico da associação (2005-2022). A análise destes fatores na associação de catadores(as) de materiais recicláveis de São Lourenço do Sul/RS permitiu um estudo sobre as tensões e contradições que esse tipo de empreendimento possa encontrar perante o sistema mercantil, e por fim, foi possível relacionar as características dos princípios da economia solidária para assim determinar se a associação é um EES. Os resultados da pesquisa revelaram que sempre vão existir tensões impostam pela lógica mercantil funcional, pois o empreendimento está inserido em um ambiente capitalista. Assim, mesmo lidando com essas questões, a gestão atual da ASSER (2022) se qualifica em ser ativa, participativa em todos os processos, procura ensinar seu conhecimento para com os(as) associados(as), estimulando-os mesmos a participarem de todo o processo, como resultado dessa dinâmica os expressivos avanços tanto nos processos administrativos-produtivos, quanto nas condições socioeconômica dos(as) associados(as). Com isso, pode-se considerar que a associação atua na lógica da economia solidária, fazendo com que não ocorra o afastamento dos princípios básicos, mesmo com as pressões impostas pelo sistema capitalista.From the 1990s, Brazil was marked by several changes in the labor market, such as
unemployment and precarious work, factors that, in addition to social inequality, historically
existed in the country. These factors have become increasingly strong the formation of solidary
economy initiatives that arise with the perspective of overcoming the conditions imposed by
capitalism. It is an alternative way of promoting economic activity through undertakings that
tend to differentiate from capitalist models of organizations essentially by the use of democratic,
egalitarian, solidarity, cooperation and management practices and by the application of self-
management, which consists of the participation of members of the undertaking, since it is
everyone's responsibility to plan, execute and control the processes. EES's work with a view to
eliminating the submission and separation between the owner and the workers, as well as the
utilitarian view of the worker. However, this process for the EES's is more complex and when
this enterprise is in the field of recycling, this complexity is increased, as they face numerous
challenges such as ensuring the promotion of financial sustainability, as well as the collective
work of the means of production , democratic management, cooperation and self-management,
which has repercussions on its own survival. Thus, the present work aims to analyze the socio-
organizational issues of a solidarity enterprise, knowing its dynamics and contradictions, of
how they can function as a mechanism of economic and social insertion. With the intention of
contributing to this debate, this study was carried out, which is based on a qualitative
perspective and is configured as a case study, being an association of collectors of recyclable
materials in the municipality of São Lourenço do Sul, in the southern region of Rio Grande do
Sul. Therefore, the methodological route consisted of four phases: (a) contact with the
collectors; (b) conducting the interviews; (c) documents made available by the association and
by the extension project and (d) use of content analysis to proceed with data analysis. In this
way, the historical process of the association (2005-2022) was presented. The analysis of these
factors in the association of collectors of recyclable materials in São Lourenço do Sul/RS
allowed a study on the tensions and contradictions that this type of enterprise may encounter in
the commercial system, and finally, it was possible to relate the characteristics of the principles
of solidarity economy in order to determine whether the association is an EES. The research
results revealed that there will always be tensions imposed by the functional mercantile logic,
since the enterprise is inserted in a capitalist environment. Thus, even dealing with these issues,
the current management of ASSER (2022) is qualified to be active, participatory in all
processes, seeks to teach its knowledge to associates, encouraging them to participate in the
whole process, as a result of this dynamic, the significant advances both in the administrative-
productive processes and in the socioeconomic conditions of the associates. With this, it can be
considered that the association acts in the logic of the solidary economy, preventing the
departure from the basic principles, even with the pressures imposed by the capitalist system
Going Beyond Counting First Authors in Author Co-citation Analysis
Get PDFThe present study examines one of the fundamental aspects of author co-citation analysis (ACA) - the way co-citation
counts are defined. Co-citation counting provides the data on which all subsequent statistical analyses and mappings
are based, and we compare ACA results based on two different types of co-citation counting - the traditional type that
only counts the first one among a cited work's authors on the one hand and a non-traditional type that takes into
account the first 5 authors of a cited work on the other hand. Results indicate that the picture produced through this non-traditional author co-citation counting contains more coherent author groups and is therefore considerably clearer. However, this picture represents fewer specialties in the research field being studied than that produced through the traditional first-author co-citation counting when the same number of top-ranked authors is selected and analyzed. Reasons for these effects are discussed

Get PDF“Variations on the Author” discusses two of Eduardo Coutinho’s recent films (Um Dia na Vida, from 2010, and Últimas Conversas, posthumously released in 2015) and their contribution to the general question of documentary authorship. The director’s filmography is characterized by a consistent yet self-effacing form of authorial self-inscription: Coutinho often features as an interviewer that rather than express opinions propels discourses; an interviewer that is good at listening. This mode of self-inscription characterizes him as an author who is not expressive but who is nonetheless markedly present on the screen. In Um Dia na Vida, however, Coutinho is completely absent form the image, while Últimas Conversas, on the contrary, includes a confessional prologue that moves the director from the margins to the center of his films. This article examines the ways in which these works stand out in the filmography of a director who offers new insights into the notion of cinematic authorship
Appropriate Similarity Measures for Author Cocitation Analysis
Get PDFWe provide a number of new insights into the methodological discussion about author cocitation analysis. We first argue that the use of the Pearson correlation for measuring the similarity between authors’ cocitation profiles is not very satisfactory. We then discuss what kind of similarity measures may be used as an alternative to the Pearson correlation. We consider three similarity measures in particular. One is the well-known cosine. The other two similarity measures have not been used before in the bibliometric literature. Note that the objective for the hut study was to evaluate the IRS treatment applications for residual efficacy against Anopheles mosquitoes, including the local An. coluzzii mosquito population. Cows were only used to attract mosquitoes into the huts and no tests were carried out directly on the cows. The author checklist is intended for use with studies where experiments are carried out on animals, which is why we have had such difficulty in completing this for the hut study, as many of the questions do not relate to how the cows were used
