Discrete breathers and negative-temperature states
We explore the statistical behaviour of the discrete nonlinear Schrödinger equation as a test bed for the observation of negative-temperature (i.e. above infinite temperature) states in Bose–Einstein condensates in optical lattices and arrays of optical waveguides. By monitoring the microcanonical temperature, we show that there exists a parameter region where the system evolves towards a state characterized by a finite density of discrete breathers and a negative temperature. Such a state persists over very long (astronomical) times since the convergence to equilibrium becomes increasingly slower as a consequence of a coarsening process. We also discuss two possible mechanisms for the generation of negative-temperature states in experimental setups, namely, the introduction of boundary dissipations and the free expansion of wavepackets initially in equilibrium at a positive temperature

Inhibited Al diffusion and growth roughening of Ga-coated Al(100)
Ab initio calculations indicate that the ground state for Ga adsorption on Al(100) is on surface with local unit coverage. On Ga-coated Al(100), the bridge diffusion barrier for Al is large, but the Al --> Ga exchange barrier is zero: the ensuing incorporation of randomly deposited Al's into the Ga: overlayer realizes a percolation network, efficiently recoated by Ca atoms. Based on calculated energetics, we predict rough surface growth at all temperatures; modeling the growth by a random deposition model with partial relaxation, we find a power-law divergent roughness w similar to t(0.07+/-0.02)
A record of seafloor methane seepage across the last 150 million years
Seafloor methane seepage is a significant source of carbon in the marine environment. The processes and temporal patterns of seafloor methane seepage over multi-million-year time scales are still poorly understood. The microbial oxidation of methane can store carbon in sediments through precipitation of carbonate minerals, thus providing a record of past methane emission. In this study, we compiled data on methane-derived carbonates to build a proxy time series of methane emission over the last 150 My and statistically compared it with the main hypothesised geological controllers of methane emission. We quantitatively demonstrate that variations in sea level and organic carbon burial are the dominant controls on methane leakage since the Early Cretaceous. Sea level controls methane seepage variations by imposing smooth trends on timescales in the order of tens of My. Organic carbon burial is affected by the same cyclicities, and instantaneously controls methane release because of the geologically rapid generation of biogenic methane. Both the identified fundamental (26-27 My) and higher (12 My) cyclicities relate to global phenomena. Temporal correlation analysis supports the evidence that modern expansion of hypoxic areas and its effect on organic carbon burial may lead to higher seawater methane concentrations over the coming centuries

Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui dan menganalisis pengaruh citra merek dan kualitas produk terhadap keputusan pembelian smartphone oppo pada PT. World Innovative Telecommnication (OPPO) cabang kota Medan.Jenis penelitian yang digunakan adalah penelitian asosiatif. Populasi penelitian adalah jumlah penjualan unit seluruh tipe OPPO yang terjual di Plaza Medan Fair yaitu sebanyak 4.320.000 unit. Sampel penelitian diambil sebanyak 100 Responden. Teknik pengumpulan data yang digunakan adalah penelitian pustaka dan penelitian lapangan. Teknik analisis data yang digunakan adalah regresi linear berganda, uji F dan uji t.Berdasarkan hasil penelitian dan pembahasan diperoleh persamaan regresi linier berganda Y = 1,700 + 0,286X1 + 0,290X2 + e Hal ini berarti variabel citra merek dan kualitas produk berpengaruh positif terhadap keputusan pembelian PT. World Innovative Telecommnication (OPPO) cabang Kota Medan. Hal ini dapat dilihat dari nilai koefisien regresinya yang bertanda positif. Nilai R Square (R2) sebesar 0,502. Artinya, variabel loyalitas nasabah dapat dijelaskan oleh variabel kualitas pelayanan (bukti fisik, keandalan, daya tanggap, jaminan dan empati) sebesar 50,2% sedangkan 49,8% lagi dijelaskan oleh variabel lainnya. Hasil uji t, menunjukkan bahwa variabel citra merek dan kualitas produk berpengaruh signifikan secara parsial terhadap keputusan pembelian PT. World Innovative Telecommnication (OPPO) cabang Kota Medan. Hasil uji F, menunjukkan bahwa citra merek dan kualitas produk berpengaruh signifikan secara simultan terhadap keputusan pembelian PT. STRATEGI KOMUNIKASI PEMASARAN OPPO BENGKULU “Studi Deskriptif TSPV dalam Berkomunikasi dengan Promotor OPPO Cabang Bengkulu”
Marketing Communication is a form of strategy intended to improve the quality of the company and the limited company's goals. In addition, marketing communication activities are activities that are designed to create structured management and reach the quality of work in company. The research was conducted to find out how the Marketing Communication Strategy for marketing activities in the OPPO Bengkulu Company. The object of this study was carried out to study marketing strategies in marketing activities at the OPPO Bengkulu company. While the research subjects were the OPPO Bengkulu Company which was stationed in Bengkulu and chosen by this company because of its position as TSPV manager in the field of discussing and improving the quality of the company (promoter). The theory used in this research is the theory of Internal Communication according to Lawrence D. Brennan which supports two things, namely vertical and horizontal communication. The research has revealed the marketing process itself by establishing a feed on activities as well as the marketing process. The results showed that team management and knowledge control were very important in increasing sales and customer satisfaction found in the case study. Based on the analysis, it is concluded that the marketing communication strategy of OPPO Bengkulu company uses the activities of the TSPV management team consisting of training products, follow-up, persuasive communication and impact management. Many marketing activities are supported by TSPV team activities towards promoters (employees) in increasing sales figures.

OPPO signs pact with IIT Hyderabad for R&D
OPPO, Chinese smartphone brand, has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Hyderabad to promote research in the field of science and technology. The MoU will facilitate joint research and development for multiple projects over a period of two years.
