Koch, 1836, mit der sie nahe verwandt ist im Sinne einer Artengruppe, vor allem anhand zweier Merkmale gut zu unterscheiden: Der Sensillus ist bei O. badensis kurz, kugelförmig und glatt, bei O. nitens dagegen länger, schwach keulenförmig und beborstet, Interlamellarhaare fehlen bei O. badensis. Bisher liegen lediglich 3 Tiere vor, die in Woas (1986:175) als Holotypus und Paratypen benannt sind. Sie stammen aus einer einzigen Probe vom März 1982 aus der F-Schicht der Bodenstreu des Moderbuchenwaldes im Stadtwald Ettlingen. A combined hypnosis-echography therapy in irritable bowel syndrome: a pilot study
No full textAims: Irritable bowel syndrome (IBS) is a disorder that can severely impair quality of life. While several treatments are available, their efficacy has not been completely proved. Aim of our study was to evaluate the therapeutic efficacy of a new technique which combines traditional clinical hypnosis with echography.
Methodology: of 31 IBS patients (28 F), 10 underwent combined clinical hypnosis-echography treatment, which was carried out during one 2-hour session per week for 4 months. This protocol combines hypnotherapy with echographic visualization of the abdominal organs. Treatment efficacy was evaluated utilising a symptom questionnaire and was then compared with that achieved in two control groups: one consisting of 11 patients treated with hypnotherapy alone, the other made up of 10 patients treated with conventional drug therapy.
Results: The results revealed that treatment with hypnosis-echography was more efficacious than the other two therapies, the difference being more marked in comparison with drug therapy. Abdominal pain had better results but also bowel habits and quality of life improved after this combined treatment.
Conclusions: the combination of hypnosis and echography can be effective in controlling IBS symptoms and in improving the quality of life of the patients treated. The best results were obtained concerning pain. This experimental protocol enables patients to increase their awareness of their own bodies and to focus the psychic and biochemical resources elicited by hypnosis on the target organs identified by echography. This experience might further broaden the field of application of echography

No full text“Variations on the Author” discusses two of Eduardo Coutinho’s recent films (Um Dia na Vida, from 2010, and Últimas Conversas, posthumously released in 2015) and their contribution to the general question of documentary authorship. The director’s filmography is characterized by a consistent yet self-effacing form of authorial self-inscription: Coutinho often features as an interviewer that rather than express opinions propels discourses; an interviewer that is good at listening. This mode of self-inscription characterizes him as an author who is not expressive but who is nonetheless markedly present on the screen. In Um Dia na Vida, however, Coutinho is completely absent form the image, while Últimas Conversas, on the contrary, includes a confessional prologue that moves the director from the margins to the center of his films. This article examines the ways in which these works stand out in the filmography of a director who offers new insights into the notion of cinematic authorship

No full text<p>Oppia glabra n. sp.</p> <p>Das Tier ist mittelgroß und schlank; die Körperlänge beträgt rund 360 µ und die Breite 190 µ, was beinahe ein Verhältnis 2: 1 ergibt.</p> <p>Das Rostrum ist rund und zugespitzt; die Rostralhaare sind eigentlich geknickte Borsten und sitzen dicht hinter dem abgerundeten Ende des Rostrums. Die Lamellen sind breite, an der Seite des Propodosomas liegende Leisten, die rostral nach innen biegen. In derselben Höhe, jedoch mehr der Mitte des Propodosomas zu, liegen die kurzen borstenförmigen, schwach nach innen gebogenen Lamellarhaare; die Interlamellarhaare sitzen in geringer Entfernung von der Grenzlinie, und zwar in den Außenecken des breiten, jedoch kurzen Bandes vor der Grenzlinie. Sie sind kurze, gerade, nach außen gerichtete Borsten. Das Organum ist dicht an der Grenzlinie; sein Sensillus ist ein schwach verdickter, gerade nach außen gerichteter, etwas gebogener, mit acht der Größe nach verschieden langen Borsten besetzter Kolben. Von den Borsten ist die kürzeste, gerade an der Spitze; ihr folgt eine etwas längere,auch gerade Borste; denn zwei gleich lange, gegeneinander geneigte(gebogene), viel längere Borsten; hinter diesen eine ebenso lange (oder um klein wenig kürzere, auch nach außen gebogene) Borste. Hinter diesen ist eine kurze, gerade und eine noch kürzere. Der Form nach ähnelt Sensillus dem bei Oppia sexmaculata Dal. bzw. O. laterostris Mih.Tectopedium I ist kräftig; das II. aber ein schwacher Lobus.</p> <p>Das Hysterosoma ist verhältnismäßig schmal, länglich oval und mit einem Band umrahmt. An ihm sind 6 Borstenreihen, von denen die zwei ersten der Innenreihe vorne liegen. Die beiden Innenborsten der vorletzten und letzten Beihe sind näher aneinander gerückt.</p> <p>An der Bauchfläche sind owohl die Anal- wie die Genitaloeffnung verhälnismäßig groß (Genital 40 µ X 40 µ und Anal 80 µ X 68 µ). Der Abstand zwischen beiden Öffnungen beträgt die ganze Länge der Analplatte, also 80 µ. Die Apodemata des IV. Beinpaares sind schwach chitinisiert. It was established specifically for urban Jewish garment workers, many of whom had emigrated from Europe. President John F. Kennedy sent a telegram to the citizens of Roosevelt, New Jersey, apologizing for not being able to attend the memorial dedication in honor of former President Franklin Delano Roosevelt. (Jersey Homesteads became Roosevelt in 1945 in honor of the president.) President Kennedy expressed his gratitude to the people of Roosevelt for constructing the memorial, and commented that it will serve as a constant reminder of Roosevelt's good works
Logarithmic variance profiles and the corresponding f-1 spectra of temperature fluctuations in turbulent Rayleigh-Bénard convection
No full textWe report experimental results for the temperature variance 2(z) and the corresponding frequency spectra P(f) in turbulent Rayleigh-Bénard convection (RBC) in a cylindrical sample of aspect ratioT= D/L = 1:00 (D = 1:12 m is the diameter and L = 1:12 m the height). The measurements were conducted in the Rayleigh-number range 1011 < Ra < 1:35 1014 and Pr ' 0:8. For Ra = 1:35x1014, 2(z) could be described well by a logarithmic dependence on the vertical position z in a range of z 1 < z < z 2 with z 1 ' 70 and z 2 = 0:1L. Here L=(2Nu) is the thickness of a thin thermal sublayer adjacent to the horizontal plate where the heat flux (denoted by the Nusselt number Nu) is carried mostly by thermal diffusion. In the log layer, we found that the temperature spectra had a significant frequency range over which P(f) f with close to 1. As Ra decreased, increased so that the log layer became thinner. At Ra = 2:05 1011, z 2 < z 1 and therefore there was no range for a log layer. Correspondingly, the temperature spectrum near the horizontal plate did not have the f1 scaling form either
