Milli Mücadele’nin Çetin Şartlarında Maarif Müdürü Osman Nuri (Oral) Bey’in Gözünden Türk Eğitimine Bakış (1922-1923) Overview of Turkish Education through the Eyes of Osman Nuri (Oral) Bey, Director of Education, in the Harsh Conditions of National Struggle (1922-1923) Dr. Hayrünisa Alp ORCID No: 0000-0002-6549-7893 İstanbul Üniversitesi Öz: Milli Mücadele Dönemi’nde öğretmenlerin basın yayın hayatı yoluyla Türk eğitim sistemine katkıları tartışmasız çok önemli bir rol oynadı. II. Osman Nuri Bey (1889-1981), who graduated from Darülmuallimin (Teacher’s Training School) in the Second Constitutional Era, continued his teaching and administration duties as a “soldier” within the cadres of “education army” during the National Struggle. On the other hand, he wrote articles in such periodicals as Dilek, published by Sivas Teachers Association in Sivas province and in Birlik published by Sivas Branch of Turkish Hearths. Osman Nuri Bey shared his suggestions and opinions on almost every aspect of the education system with the public in these journals. Osman Nuri Bey, who drew attention with his reply to Mustafa Kemal Pasha during the 1921 Education Congress, continued hisduty of Sivas Provincial Directorate of Education, which had the largest education organization of the period, until the year 1923. This article based on the writings of Osman Nuri Bey in the periodicals of Dilek and Birlik attempted to reveal how a patriotic director of education envisioned education as a future formation under the difficult conditions of the National Struggle.
