Philological Remarks on Two Genealogies of the Crimean-Tatar Clan Shirin
Full text linkObjectives: Philological analysis of two genealogies of the Crimean-Tatar clan termed the Shirin, and an identification of a possible common source of these genealogies.
Research materials: Two genealogies (family-trees) of the most prominent clan of the Crimean Khanate, the Shirin, have survived. The earlier one was preserved in the chronicle of the ʿUmdetü l aḫbār ‘Essence of Histories’ (1748), written by ʿAbdu l Ġaffār Qırımī, a historian of the Crimean Khanate and judge on Shirin estates. The later one was presented by clan-members after 1807 to the Crimean Assembly of Nobility (Таврическое дворянское собрание) for the recognition of their noble status and estates. This version was translated into Russian and published by Lashkov. Therefore, the question arises: can the two genealogies have a common source?
Results and the novelty of the research: Through a philological comparison of the material, the aim of the author was to demonstrate that the genealogies of the Shirin clan show similarities in content, structure, and text. The author supposes that the texts of ʿAbdu l Ġaffār Qırımī and the genealogy preserved in Russian translation could have been compiled from the same source, perhaps a preliminary Shirin genealogy which, judging from its content, the author dates to the 1660s

Technical and Vocational Education and Training for Economic Growth in Pakistan
No full text<p>This discussion paper aims to highlight the existing scenario of Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) for the economic growth in Pakistan. It specifically analysis the status of vocational training, related policies and practices with reference to the 18th Amendment, which abolishes the concurrent list and grants more provincial autonomy in the matters of education. Article 25A of the Constitution of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan (iv) states that the provinces should set priorities for access and quality education based on the provincial needs and develop action plans for its actualization. A developing country like Pakistan needs to devise a systematic, well thought and sophisticated policy for TVET; therefore, this paper proposes a policy following the simple framework of input, process and output. The inputs are predominantly focused on highlighting and matching demand and supply of the TVET. The process thoroughly discusses both the formal and informal education arrangements. Finally, the outputs are deliberated in the form of economic effects such as the manpower structures, technological development, manpower quality and economic behavior leading to the ultimate goal of economic growth and development of the country.</p></jats:p

Ihre Fotoarbeiten und Videoinstallationen werden beispielhaft erwähnt und zeichnen den künstlerischen Weg der Exil-Iranerin nach, bis hin zu ihrem ersten Spielfilm, der Adaption des magisch-realistischen Romans WOMEN WITHOUT MEN. Der Gebrauch von Literatur als Teil ihrer Kunstwerke oder nur als Inspiration für solche wird in dieser Arbeit behandelt.Das erste Kapitel dieser Arbeit beschäftigt sich verstärkt mit dem Hintergrund der Künstlerin. Zur Klärung der Frage nach der Intention ihres Schaffens ist es wichtig, ihre Herkunft zu erwähnen und zu erläutern, in welcher Beziehung sie zu ihrer Heimat, dem Iran, steht.Das zweite Kapitel hat den Beginn der Zusammenarbeit von Shirin Neshat und der Autorin des Romans WOMEN WITHOUT MEN, Shahrnush Parsipur, zum Inhalt. Mit dem Thema der Umsetzung der Filmadaption von WOMEN WITHOUT MEN im dritten Kapitel soll Neshats bisherige intensive Beschäftigung mit Literatur als großes und lange Zeit in Anspruch nehmendes Werk gezeigt werden.Diese Diplomarbeit beinhaltet keine exakte Werkauflistung der Künstlerin, versucht aber, mit einem Schwerpunkt auf den Arbeiten zum Roman WOMEN WITHOUT MEN, den Stil und die wichtigsten Themen Shirin Neshats Kunst darzustellen.The thesis with the title "Women Without Men. The cinematic presentation of literature in the works of the Iranian exile artist Shirin Neshat" deals with the life and career of the artist Shirin Neshat with a particular focus on the use of literature as part of her art, or least as inspiration for it. Her artistic development culminating in the movie adaptation of Women Without Men is illustrated by addressing her photography and video installations. To clarify the intention of Neshats work, it is important to mention her origin and to explain the relationship between Shirin Neshat and her native country, Iran. High-throughput multiplexed transcriptome and protein measurements in single cells

This method takes advantage of droplet barcoding and hydrogel chemistry to capture mRNAs and proteins in thousands of cells. We report the challenges of acquiring sequencing data from cell gels due to complex mechanisms underlying bead based library prep in polyacrylamide gels. We show the applications of this method in detecting intracellular proteins, sorting based on intracellular markers after cell lysis, and expanding thousands of cells in single droplets.by Shirin Shivaei.M. Significance of school leadership in behaviour management of students
No full textBehaviour management of students is an important aspect of school life and an integral component of the leadership practice of the school leaders. The behaviour of students reflects the school\u27s norms, culture and priorities where the school leadership plays its vital role in formulating strategies aimed at institutionalizing the desired set of behaviours. Therefore, the purpose of this study was to explore the influence of school leadership on behaviour management of the students. It further aimed at investigating the views of the teachers and students about the school leadership\u27s influence on behaviour management of the students. Precisely speaking it intended to investigate how and to what extent does school leadership influences students\u27 behaviour management in a private secondary school of Karachi. Within a framework of a case study design, data was collected in two phases. In the first phase, the influence of school leadership on student behaviour management was explored through semi-structured interviews from the school leadership, observation and document analysis. Based on the themes generated in the first phase, a survey questionnaire was developed and administered to the entire teaching staff of the secondary section and to a group of randomly selected students, to understand their views about school leadership\u27s influence on students\u27 behaviour management. This study explored that school leadership influences students\u27 behaviour through initiating and maintaining various policies and procedures. They enact certain support mechanisms both for students and teachers with regards to student behaviour management. The school leadership involves parents and maintains certain procedures of awards for encouraging positive behaviours and consequences for discouraging negative behaviours. They also considerably influence students\u27 behaviour through their own personal practices. This study can prove beneficial to the participating school as well as to other school leaders in understanding how they can manage their students\u27 behaviour. Furthermore, it may help them in knowing teachers\u27 and students\u27 perceptions on the effectiveness of these strategies. The findings of this study may provide useful insights for the teacher educators in planning and designing teacher and school leadership training programmes in the area of student behaviour management
