A tremendous demand on mobile wireless technology due to the ability in providing users with information on the move has pushed development of mobile communication. Heterogeneous network architecture has attracted attention to boost performance and requirement of coverage in the most cost effective way. However, a massive volume of data to be processed and tunneled through network increased signaling traffic and long signaling delay. The aim of this project is to reduce signaling cost incurred in cellular network. Two schemes, centralized location management and distributed location management are proposed in handling a cost efficient signaling traffic. A simulation algorithm is developed using MATLAB software to evaluate signaling cost. The simulation is carried out using different parameters which are number of UEs at one time within network and network size. The result shows that, distributed location management has better performance in reducing signaling cost when number of UEs and network size increased

The spike in Malaysia's household debts has caused stoked tensions as it has nearly reached 82.2% of total GDP. The amount of household debts, as it may cause another financial crisis is considered to be troubling. The purpose of this study is to analyse factors that influence household debts in Malaysia via time series data. This study employs multiple linear regression method and the macroeconomic variables used consist of housing prices, household income, and population growth as independent variables taken in the period from 2002 to 2019. The results show that the population growth is the most significance variable, followed by household income and housing prices. Population growth and household income would have a positive impact on household debts, indicating that the increase in household debts is dictated by the increase in these explanatory variables. However, housing prices would exert a negative influence on the rise of household debts. Findings of this study could provide some guidance to policymakers in controlling the mounting debt level and help in realizing the nation economic goal

Application of multistage evolutionary programming for reactive power control in power system / Noor Azmi Mohd. Radzi

    No full text
This final year project discussed the application of multistage evolutionary programming for reactive power dispatch in power system. Several techniques have been developed to make the EP suitable to the practical optimal problems of large scale systems. Simulation results are presented to show the potential for applications of the proposed method to power system economical and secure operations. Distribution system through network reconfiguration is realized to be operated under minimized loss condition due to a large consumption in power energy nowadays. This final year project presents a technique for networks reconfiguration that aims to improve voltage stability and hence minimized the loss. By presenting the relationship between voltage stability and loss minimization it can be shown that voltage stability is maximized when power losses are minimized in the network. Simulation studies on IEEE 30-bus Reliability Test System (RTS) are presented to illustrate the methodology and to demonstrate the benefits of the proposed method using MATLAB programming language

Malaysia palm oil is the biggest profits producing contributor for our economy. The palm oil industry is one and only of the highly organized sectors in agriculture which effectively balance each other’s to become more diversified sector. The quality management system implemented has not been effective and should be immediately carried out a corrective action to address such deviations. Quality management practices are lack of checklist system that needs to monitor the management, performance and handling in oil palm industry per day. This research attempts to comprehend the usage of maturity model in evaluating quality management in the industry to develop a checklist maturity level of management practices in palm oil organization. All the data had been used in this study is taken from primary document Malaysian Palm Oil Board, thesis and journals. This paper also presents a Systematic Literature Review (SLR) on assessment of quality management maturity practices in palm oil organization. The final selection comprehends 40 articles using SLR is selected and comprehensively analyzed to develop maturity checklist to ensure maturity level in palm oil organization. As a result, the maturity assessment had been developed that can be useful to improve the quality management practices in palm oil organization for a long term

Interactive multimedia is one of the medium for learning, also known as Computer-based Learning has widely utilized for instruction and learning aid especially with classroom computer. Besides, as an integral part of education, the Information and Communication Technology (ICT) has made a path into learning and education which give a positive impact towards learning outcome. Furthermore, the developments of courseware mostly to assist students achieve the resolution on learning ICT in schools as well as being applied outside the wide world. In reality, the digital divide is an efficient path to access into digital technologies, but the limited access of internet in rural areas has widened up the gap of technology development between urban and rural area. This project aims to develop a learning prototype in order to help students in the rural area of Sekolah Menengah Kebangsaan Tengku Temenggung Ahmad (SMKTTA) to enhance ICT knowledge and skills among students. Nevertheless, schools in rural area play an importance role to develop the knowledge and skills among students as well as helping develop the country. Rule-based technique is been used in this project. In this project, a methodology based on ADDIE Instruction System Model focus on five phase which are Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation and Evaluation. The research instrument was in the form of questionnaire that consisted of various attributes included content, comfortability toward computer, confidentiality of following the task given and equipment that available for the students. As a conclusion, the project’s objectives are achieved and there are some recommendations to improve the project and make it more efficient. For the improvement, this project should cover other type of syllabus and intend to dual language

Prediction on weather forecast based on cloud shapes using CNN / Muhammad Ashraff Noor Azmi

    No full text
This thesis aims to address the challenges in weather forecasting, particularly the reliance on hardware-intensive methods and the limited coverage of weather stations in inhabited regions by analyzing clouds, with their diverse shapes and colors, serve as vital indicators for predicting atmospheric conditions. Recognizing the impact of cloud shapes on temperature regulation, meteorologists traditionally rely on large computer systems for weather prediction. To overcome the limitations of traditional methods, this research proposes a system utilizing Convolutional Neural Networks (CNN) for accurate weather prediction based on cloud shapes. The CNN model is designed to process visual information, identify cloud patterns, and forecast weather conditions with improved accuracy, speed, and reduced model size. Remote weather stations are recommended to broaden weather monitoring coverage, especially in isolated regions where dependence on inhabited-area stations can lead to delayed or incomplete information, posing risks to agriculture and resource management. The development phase focuses on implementing the CNN algorithm specifically for weather prediction based on cloud shapes. The results demonstrate the model's effectiveness, emphasizing the importance of balancing training and testing datasets with an accuracy of 93.59%. Evaluation results indicate that the Customized Xception Model with Intermediate Dense Layer outperforms the Simplified Xception Model, with an average accuracy of 0.915 compared to 0.88. This notable accuracy difference highlights the superiority of the Customized Xception Model with an Intermediate Dense Layer. Consequently, this model is selected as the system of choice. In conclusion, this project successfully achieves its objectives by proposing a CNN-based approach for accurate weather prediction, addressing the limitations of traditional methods. The research highlights the potential of remote weather stations to enhance coverage and reduce risks associated with incomplete information. While acknowledging limitations, this work serves as a foundation for future system improvements, emphasizing the positive contributions made in advancing weather prediction methodologies
