Replication Data for: Right and left, partisanship predicts vulnerability to misinformation

    No full text
The dataset consists of two files: 1. anonymized_shares.json: A collection of sharing actions, each corresponding to a tweet posted in June 2017 in which one or more URLs were shared. The format is as follows: { uid1: [ {"domains": ["domain1", "domain2"]}, {"domains": ["domain3"], "retweeted": retweeted_uid}, {"domains": ["domain4"], "quoted": quoted_uid}, ... ], uid2: [ ... ], ... } That is, for each sharing action we have: the list of domains from which links were shared if the tweet was a retweet, the ID of the user who created the original tweet if the tweet was quoting another tweet, the ID of the user who is being quoted All user IDs were anonymized and will not be traceable to Twitter user IDs. The tweets were collected from the Social Media Observatory at Indiana University. 2. anonymized_friends.json: For each user in the dataset, the list of their friends (followees) as given by the friends/ids Twitter API endpoint. The format is as follows: { uid1: [friend_uid1, friend_uid2, ...], uid2: [...], ... } 3. measures.tab: TAB-separated file with partisanship and misinformation scores for each anonymized user. All user IDs were anonymized and will not be traceable to Twitter user IDs. </p

Going Beyond Counting First Authors in Author Co-citation Analysis

The present study examines one of the fundamental aspects of author co-citation analysis (ACA) - the way co-citation counts are defined. Co-citation counting provides the data on which all subsequent statistical analyses and mappings are based, and we compare ACA results based on two different types of co-citation counting - the traditional type that only counts the first one among a cited work's authors on the one hand and a non-traditional type that takes into account the first 5 authors of a cited work on the other hand. Results indicate that the picture produced through this non-traditional author co-citation counting contains more coherent author groups and is therefore considerably clearer. However, this picture represents fewer specialties in the research field being studied than that produced through the traditional first-author co-citation counting when the same number of top-ranked authors is selected and analyzed. Reasons for these effects are discussed

Peter Ilyich Tchaikovsky\u27s Grand Sonata in G Major, Op. 37: A critical reevaluation

The Grand Sonata in G Major, Op. 37, along with most of Tchaikovsky\u27s solo piano repertoire, has been unjustly neglected in the area of musicological research. The piece has enjoyed a significant success in Russia, but is rarely performed outside the Russian borders. Despite some structural weaknesses (orchestral texture, episodic nature of the sections, etc.), the sonata is penetrated by Tchaikovsky\u27s creative genius: unusually beautiful melodic material and emotional content waiting to be expressed. The purpose of this document is to present an analysis which will be useful to prospective performers. Different aspects of the sonata\u27s structure are examined including musical form, melodic, harmonic, and rhythmic organization, tempo, dynamics, and articulation. The structural findings serve as a starting point in outlining a possible dramatic plan that unifies the piece. The interpretational approach chosen by the present author suggests that the sonata\u27s structure is dominated by two music ideas: the opening motif (Grand Motif) of the first movement and section C of the Finale. The melodic pattern of the Grand Motif appears throughout the piece in different expressive contexts. This motif contributes to the increase of tension throughout the piece. The accumulated tension is released in the exuberant section C of the Finale. Theme C searches for reconciliation which is accomplished in the coda of the Finale. All performance suggestions are based on the structural and expressive findings of the present author. A chapter that compares the recordings of five performers presents different interpretational readings of the piece. It also proves the thesis that different performers—not restricted by the suffocating dogmas of tradition—can view the piece from a different perspective

    Variations on the Author

“Variations on the Author” discusses two of Eduardo Coutinho’s recent films (Um Dia na Vida, from 2010, and Últimas Conversas, posthumously released in 2015) and their contribution to the general question of documentary authorship. The director’s filmography is characterized by a consistent yet self-effacing form of authorial self-inscription: Coutinho often features as an interviewer that rather than express opinions propels discourses; an interviewer that is good at listening. This mode of self-inscription characterizes him as an author who is not expressive but who is nonetheless markedly present on the screen. In Um Dia na Vida, however, Coutinho is completely absent form the image, while Últimas Conversas, on the contrary, includes a confessional prologue that moves the director from the margins to the center of his films. This article examines the ways in which these works stand out in the filmography of a director who offers new insights into the notion of cinematic authorship

Hospital Hradec Králové - comparison of the histochemical results of estrogen and progesterone receptors in the breast tumours with the other tumour markers.

In the theoretical part of the work we briefly discuss about composition of the breast, general questions about carcinogenesis in this localization and some of the features of the breast cancer. Below we show in several statistical data. We describe diagnostic order from first contact of the patient with doctor to time of the determination of definitive diagnosis. We mention basic principles of morphological classification of the tumors as well as international classification of the tumors published by World Health Organization, basic rules how to define staging, grading, prognostic and predictive markers of the breast cancer. We concentrate on determination of these five tumor markers: estrogen and progesterone receptors, protein HER-2/neu, proliferation marker Ki-67, and tumor suppresor protein p53. We explain value of examination those markers for later on use for hormonal and biological treatment. Today routine is to do examination of hormonal receptors (estrogen and progesterone) and onkoprotein HER-2/neu to every patient with invasive breast cancer. The other markers such as proliferation marker Ki-67 and expression of the protein p53 help us to predict prognosis of the ilness. In the practical part we shortly describe process of the tissue examination with standard histological technique and..

Kateřina Sieglová Detection of circulating antibodies to determination of autoimmuno diseases by means of imunofluorescence. Bachelor thesis Charles University in Prague, Faculty of Pharmacy in Hradec Králové Medical Laboratory Technician Background: The aim of this thesis is to explore of coherence between the presence of antibody against anti brush border antibody (ABBA) and idiopatic bowel disease (Crohn's disease and ulcerative colitis). Methods: Evidence of connection idiopatic bowel disease with positive ABBA test is examine by two perspectives, which are used for selecting and comparising of data. The first way is comparison of the number ABBA positive patients with their diagnosis of endoscopic biopsy. The second way check the positivity or negativity of ABBA examination of all patients with diagnose of idiopatic bowel disease. Experimental part summarize by this way the results, which was done at the Fingerland institute of pathology since 2009 to 2011. Results: The survey showed that among all the ABBA-positive patients is a large group of those who don't have the morphological signs of Inflammatory Bowel Disease - 72,47%. 66.67% of patients with a clinical diagnosis of Crohn's disease, and 39.37% of patients with ulcerative colitis are ABBA positive. Conclusion: The results shows, that..

Appropriate Similarity Measures for Author Cocitation Analysis

We provide a number of new insights into the methodological discussion about author cocitation analysis. We first argue that the use of the Pearson correlation for measuring the similarity between authors’ cocitation profiles is not very satisfactory. We then discuss what kind of similarity measures may be used as an alternative to the Pearson correlation. We consider three similarity measures in particular. One is the well-known cosine. The other two similarity measures have not been used before in the bibliometric literature. Finally, we show by means of an example that our findings have a high practical relevance.information science;Pearson correlation;cosine;similarity measure;author cocitation analysis

Dispelling the Myths Behind First-author Citation Counts

We conducted a full-scale evaluative citation analysis study of scholars in the XML research field to explore just how different from each other author rankings resulting from different citation counting methods actually are, and to demonstrate the capability of emerging data and tools on the Web in supporting more realistic citation counting methods. Our results contest some common arguments for the continued use of first-author citation counts in the evaluation of scholars, such as high correlations between author rankings by first-author citation counts and other citation counting methods, and high costs of using more realistic citation counting methods that are not well-supported by the ISI databases. It is argued that increasingly available digital full text research papers make it possible for citation analysis studies to go beyond what the ISI databases have directly supported and to employ more sophisticated methods
