After waiting a few more years, she was sponsored to come to the United States in 2000 by a Christian church in Long Beach. No full textOral history of Annthy Thao Nguyen, born in 1956 in Saigon, Vietnam. She is the seventh child in a family of 11 children and her father worked for USAID. She describes her childhood in Saigon attending school up until her second year of college, when South Vietnam collapsed. During the final days of South Vietnam, she was separated from her parents and siblings who escaped the country at that time and thought she had died. Four years later she escaped Vietnam as a boat refugee, passed through Pulau Bidong, Malaysia and resettled in Orange County, California. She put herself through ESL and community college courses and then transferred to Cal State Long Beach to complete her degree. She hopes to retire at 62 and focus on her photography hobby.Recorded Digitall

A convergent relaxation of the Douglas–Rachford algorithm
No full textThis paper proposes an algorithm for solving structured optimization problems, which covers both the backward–backward and the Douglas–Rachford algorithms as special cases, and analyzes its convergence. The set of fixed points of the corresponding operator is characterized in several cases. Convergence criteria of the algorithm in terms of general fixed point iterations are established. When applied to nonconvex feasibility including potentially inconsistent problems, we prove local linear convergence results under mild assumptions on regularity of individual sets and of the collection of sets. In this special case, we refine known linear convergence criteria for the Douglas–Rachford (DR) algorithm. As a consequence, for feasibility problem with one of the sets being affine, we establish criteria for linear and sublinear convergence of convex combinations of the alternating projection and the DR methods. These results seem to be new. We also demonstrate the seemingly improved numerical performance of this algorithm compared to the RAAR algorithm for both consistent and inconsistent sparse feasibility problems.Team Raf Van de Pla

Full text linkThe main purpose of this thesis is to help Kamome Restaurant to attract local customers. A social media marketing plan is created to serve this main purpose. A research is executed to help the author to find out key points in order to build a solid and suitable social media marketing plan for Kamome Restaurant. There are 3 objectives that the research needs to achieve:
- To find out what is the target audience that Kamome Restaurant should focus.
- To find out which social media networks that Kamome Restaurant should concentrate.
- To find out the social media marketing content that Kamome Restaurant can utilize to attract local customers.
The thesis has two main parts: theory review and empirical part.
The theory review consists 3 parts: Digital marketing, Social media marketing and Social media marketing in restaurant industry. The knowledge base of this part is gathered from several specialised books as well as scientific articles.
Empirical part is a social media marketing plan based on the social media marketing plan outline in theory review part. This part also includes a research about customer’s social media using behaviour in restaurant industry. Quantitative research method is applied with deductive approach, supported by descriptive and correlation research. A questionnaire is designed to collect data for the research. It is conducted in two ways, paper form in the restaurant as well as surrounding area and online form through internet. The result of the collected data is analysed with a description of each variables, Chi-square test as well as Cramer’s V Test are used for correlation analysis between set of variables.
As a result of this thesis, a social media marketing plan is created. The plan contains analysis in internal and external environments, defined target audience. Several adjustments and ideas are suggested about Kamome restaurant’s website, social media posts’ content, social media marketing campaign. In the end, measure tools are introduced to observe the performance of social media marketing plan
