Cet article étudie l’impact des indicateurs de performance des petites et moyennes entreprises (PME) non cotées au Maroc sur leur structure financière, en utilisant les données recueillies auprès d’un échantillon de 520 PME sur cinq ans de 2013 à 2017 (2600 observations). Les données sont réparties sur quatre secteurs d’activité à savoir, la construction, l’industrie, le commerce et le service. A cet effet, on a adopté une démarche positiviste avec une approche hypothético-déductive. Dans cette étude on a utilisé la mesure de la performance, qui est le rendement des actifs appelé aussi la rentabilité économique, comme variable dépendante. Les variables indépendantes sont la structure du capital qui est calculée par le taux d’endettement total, la liquidité et les garanties. En plus on a d'autres variables de contrôle à savoir la taille et l’âge de l'entreprise. L’analyse de ces indicateurs est réalisée en appliquant l’économétrie des données de panel. Les résultats montrent que deux variables parmi cinq de notre modèle étudié influencent positivement la performance des PME à savoir les garanties et la taille. Les autres variables du modèle ont un impact négatif sur la rentabilité. Aussi, on a trois hypothèses de recherche qui sont vérifiées parmi cinq. Ces résultats aident à enrichir les connaissances et la compréhension des attitudes des dirigeants des PME. Puisqu’ils peuvent fournir des informations utiles pour aider les gestionnaires dans leur prise de décision concernant le choix d’une structure du capital de leur entreprise qui permet de réaliser une performance positive, à un moment ou les difficultés de financement des PME sont de plus en plus évoquées dans le contexte marocain.

Abstract
This paper studies the impact of performance indicators of unlisted small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in Morocco on their financial structure, using data collected from a sample of 520 SMEs over five years from 2013 to 2017 (2600 observations). The data is divided into four sectors of activity, namely, construction, industry, trade and service. For this purpose, a positivist approach was adopted with a hypothetical-deductive approach. In this study we used the performance measure, which is the return on assets also called the economic profitability, as a dependent variable. The independent variables are the capital structure which is calculated by the total debt ratio, liquidity and collateral. In addition, there are other control variables, namely the size and age of the company. The analysis of these indicators is carried out by applying panel data econometrics. The results show that two of the five variables in our model positively influence the performance of SMEs, namely guarantees and size. The other variables of the model have a negative impact on profitability. Also we have three research hypotheses that are verified among five. These results help to enrich the knowledge and understanding of the attitudes of SME managers. Since they can provide useful information to help managers in their decision making regarding the choice of a capital structure of their company that allows to achieve a positive performance, at a time when the difficulties of financing of SMEs are increasingly mentioned in the Moroccan context.

Going Beyond Counting First Authors in Author Co-citation Analysis

counts are defined. Co-citation counting provides the data on which all subsequent statistical analyses and mappings
are based, and we compare ACA results based on two different types of co-citation counting - the traditional type that
only counts the first one among a cited work's authors on the one hand and a non-traditional type that takes into
account the first 5 authors of a cited work on the other hand. Results indicate that the picture produced through this non-traditional author co-citation counting contains more coherent author groups and is therefore considerably clearer. However, this picture represents fewer specialties in the research field being studied than that produced through the traditional first-author co-citation counting when the same number of top-ranked authors is selected and analyzed. Variations on the Author
Get PDF“Variations on the Author” discusses two of Eduardo Coutinho’s recent films (Um Dia na Vida, from 2010, and Últimas Conversas, posthumously released in 2015) and their contribution to the general question of documentary authorship. The director’s filmography is characterized by a consistent yet self-effacing form of authorial self-inscription: Coutinho often features as an interviewer that rather than express opinions propels discourses; an interviewer that is good at listening. This mode of self-inscription characterizes him as an author who is not expressive but who is nonetheless markedly present on the screen. In Um Dia na Vida, however, Coutinho is completely absent form the image, while Últimas Conversas, on the contrary, includes a confessional prologue that moves the director from the margins to the center of his films. This article examines the ways in which these works stand out in the filmography of a director who offers new insights into the notion of cinematic authorship
Appropriate Similarity Measures for Author Cocitation Analysis
Get PDFWe provide a number of new insights into the methodological discussion about author cocitation analysis. We first argue that the use of the Pearson correlation for measuring the similarity between authors’ cocitation profiles is not very satisfactory. We then discuss what kind of similarity measures may be used as an alternative to the Pearson correlation. We consider three similarity measures in particular. One is the well-known cosine. The other two similarity measures have not been used before in the bibliometric literature. Note that the objective for the hut study was to evaluate the IRS treatment applications for residual efficacy against Anopheles mosquitoes, including the local An. coluzzii mosquito population. Cows were only used to attract mosquitoes into the huts and no tests were carried out directly on the cows. The author checklist is intended for use with studies where experiments are carried out on animals, which is why we have had such difficulty in completing this for the hut study, as many of the questions do not relate to how the cows were used
