THE STRATEGY OF TRANSLATING JAVANESE CULTURAL WORDS IN “KERUMUNAN TERAKHIR” TRANSLATED INTO THE LAST CROWD NOVEL BY OKKY MADASARI

Language is not only a form of vocal, textual, sign, or body language but also a pattern of human behavior to interact in society. The diversity of regional origins, races, and ethnicities causes the variety of human languages. Cultural words are words related to certain languages that only exist in certain cultures, so the task of translation is a bridge to convey meaning.
The author examines the novel written by Okky Madasari, and chooses to research the novel entitled "The Last Crowd" or in the original language entitled "Kerumunan Terakhir". In this study the author focuses on finding out two research problems, namely: 1) What is the translation strategy used in translating the Javanese cultural words in the novel “Kerumunan Terakhir” into “The Last Crowd"? 2) And what types of translation procedures are Javanese cultural words in the novel “The Last Crowd”? 3) Then, what is the most translation strategies carried out by the translator in translating the Javanese cultural words in the novel “The Last Crowd”? 4) Last, why is the strategy the most widely used strategy by writers?
In this study, the authors used the qualitative descriptive method to obtain data. And also, this research is included in library research. The findings of this study show that: first found 18 selected Javanese cultural words, including: Simbah, necis, dingklik, semadi, kowe, ngece, mas, genderuwo, terasi, wingit, kualat, minggat, amit-amit jabang bayi, Gusti Allah, jadah, bubur sum-sum, dawet, kebaya, jarik, surup, cah ayu. And second found four procedures in the translation, namely pure borrowing, notes, cultural equivalent, and descriptive equivalent. And third, the novel uses three translation strategies, namely domesticating, foreignizing, and neutralizing, the results of the study found that most of the translations used a neutralizing strategy

But, marketing is done through the media is not able to attract these consumers, because not every community or target market used the social media. Therefore, optimizing the strategy of content is very important for marketing the product. In marketing, it takes a strategy for the products offered to align with the needs of consumers. One of the route that can be used is the inbound marketing technique that comprised of content marketing and social media participation. In this study, the author conducted several data collection methods, such as literature studies, observation, interviews, questionnaire, and documentation.
