    English Nominals with the Incorporated Object as a Result of Two-Level Conceptual Blending

    The article deals with the phenomenon of idiomatic nominals with the incorporated object, which are English complex nouns of a definite concept structure. The author regards them as a result of conceptual blending. According to the modern linguistic theory (G. Fauconnier, M.Turner), conceptual blending is one of the basic operations of human cognition. It is involved in metaphorisation and metonimisation processes, in the formation of idiomatic lexical units and is an important element of noun incorporation. In course of conceptual blending source domains, being 'conceptual links created in the process of thinking and speech with the aim of understanding a particular situation and acting within its framework'are superimposed. This results in a new, blended conceptual domain that has elements of source domains. In terms of landuage, a conceptual structure can be represented by means of a complex noun that has the following structure: N + V + -er (noun stem+verb stem+agent suffix) or N + V + -ing (noun stem+verb stem+process suffix). These nouns have since recently been called nominals with the incorporated object. Idiomatic nominals with the incorporated object, such as bean counter, eye-opener, backstabber are interesting to study as an example of a two-level conceptual blending. The formation of the concept in each situation can follow several stages, including the compression of the argument structure (which is necessary forthis type of nominals), together with singular optional components or a combination of optional components.These may include cognitive metaphor, metonymy alone or combined, or literalisation alone or combined with metaphor (usually confined to one certain situation)

    The article analyses the problem of psychological determination of the successful double specialty education in higher institution. The question of peculiarities of cognitive styles affecting mastering of subjects of a certain specialty and two specialties simultaneously is posed. On the basis of the analysis of the history of cognitive style studies two approaches to understanding their nature are distinguished: as constant and not interconnected peculiarities of cognitive activity and as adaptive cognitive strategies formed by an individual to solve different problems. We introduce some research data of cognitive styles of students with different degree of success in mastering a double specialty History and English Philology: successful in learning the foreign language, successful in learning History and weak and successful in subjects of both specialties. A set of methods identifying the following parameters of cognitive styles was used in the study: “fielddependency – fieldindependency”, “analyticity – syntheticity”, “impulsiveness – reflexivity”, “intellectual lability” and “leading representative systems”. It was brought to light that groups of respondents possess significant differences in every parameter of the cognitive styles. On the basis of analytical interpretation of the research data the conclusion is drawn that a cognitive style can be both specialized and quite flexible, adaptive, which depends on the range of modalities used for perception and digestion of information (what modalities are used, in what quantity and combination)

    Treatment of purulent disease and traumatic lesion of skin and soft tissues are associated with a formation of vast tissue defects. Successful early regeneration of skin cover makes favorable outcome of the disease and social rehabilitation of patients. In these days specialists are taking interest in dosed skin expansion method (DSEM) again for vast wound defect closure. This new species is similar to other members of the Rhyacophila sibirica Group (R. transquilla Tsuda 1940, R. arefini Lukyanchenko 1993, R. kisoensis Tsuda 1940, and R. yukii Tsuda 1942) in male genitalia, but can be diagnosed easily from them by the following combination of segment X characters: (1) in dorsal view somewhat hexagonal to oval; (2) in lateral view with the upper and lower portions more swollen than the center; (3) in caudal view hexagonal with its dorsal apex incised mesally, elongate downward, ventral apex incised and sclerotized. The female vaginal apparatus of this species is similar to that of R. implicata Arefina 1993 (in Schmid et al. 1993), distributed in Russia. However, it can be distinguished by the posterior process of the vaginal apparatus, which is shorter than that of R. implicata. Male. Length of each male forewing 7.6–8.5 mm (n = 27). Specimens in alcohol with head, thorax, and wings dark brown; legs yellowish brown, with spurs dark brown. Segments VI and VII with thin spur ventrally. Male genitalia (Figs 2A–2F). Segment IX in lateral view subrectangular, with upper portion longer than lower one, rectangular in dorsal view, twice as wide as long. Segment X in lateral view with upper and lower portions swollen and club-shaped, in dorsal view somewhat hexagonal to oval with its apex incised mesally, in caudal view hexagonal with dorsal apex incised mesally, elongate downward, ventral apex incised and sclerotized. Apical band (a.b.) in lateral view long and narrow, bar shaped. Ventral branch of aedeagus (v.b.a.) in lateral view cylindrical and protruding; aedeagus (aed.) in lateral view curved about 80°, resembling long and narrow spine; ventral lobe of aedeagus (v.l.a.) elongate subelliptical in dorsal view. Basal segment of each inferior appendage (b.i.a.) somewhat trapezoidal in lateral view, in ventral view with its inner and outer margins nearly straight; apical segment of each inferior appendage (a.i.a.) in lateral view with apex depressed obliquely, in ventral view with its inner and outer margins nearly straight, round apically. Female. Length of each female forewing 7.8–8.8 mm (n = 8). Female genitalia (Figs 2G–2J). Segment VI with thin spur ventrally. Corners of tergum and sternum of segment VII rounded in outline. Hattori (SPMN). Etymology. The new species is named in memory and honor of the late Mr. Toshio Hattori, a specialist of Trichoptera taxonomy, especially Rhyacophilidae in Japan. Distribution. Japan (Honshu). Habitat. The type locality is a small, narrow, mountain stream. The rivers at the other collecting sites varied from 2–10 m wide, with bottoms consisting of boulders of different sizes, pebbles, and leaf litter, and with steep banks. Water was clear, colorless, transparent, and odorless. Remarks. This species is determined to be the same species as " R. yukii " figured by Schmid (1970) (Figs 2K, 2L) because the morphology of the male genitalia (Figs 2A–F) is identical to that of the species. Schmid (1970) misidentified and figured this species as R. yukii and did not describe any features. From the original description of R. yukii by Tsuda (1942), segment X is "approximately triangular in dorsal view, slightly advanced at the apex, rod-shaped in lateral view, tapered at the apex." His figures (Figs 1H, 1I) show that the morphology of segment X is clearly different from that of R. yukii figured by Schmid (1970) (Figs 2K, 2L). Hattori (2005, 2018) reported that the figures by Schmid (1970) depict a species that is different from Tsuda's R. yukii and that should be named as a new species. The new species name R. hattorii is given to " R. yukii " of Schmid (1970). Japanese name.     The European Ways of the Development of the Ideas of Health Preservation

    У статті охарактеризовано шляхи розвитку ідей здоров’язбереження в школах сприяння здоров’ю у країнах Східної Європи. Визначено пріоритетні напрями здоров’яспрямованої діяльності шкіл сприяння здоров’ю у країнах Східної Європи: для Польщі та Росії – оздоровчо-фізкультурний, для Чехії та Угорщини – профілактичний, для України – превентивно-освітній. Зазначено, що ідея проекту Європейської мережі шкіл сприяння здоров’ю є подальшим розвитком стратегії ВООЗ, сформованої в Оттавській Хартії, програмах «Здоров’я для всіх», «Здоров’я – 2020», «Європа – 2020».The article describes the development of the ideas of preservation of health at schools which promote health in the countries of Eastern Europe: Poland, the Czech Republic, Hungary, Ukraine and Russia. Certain aspects of health promoting activity at such schools are devoted to the domestic and foreign scientists works: creating culture of health and valuable relation to the health at the methodological, theoretical and practical levels: T. Andryushchenko, V. Gorashchuck, S. Kyrylenko, N. Lukyanchenko, A. Madguga, O. Shiyan; the socio-pedagogical factors influencing the students’ health: M. Bezrukykh, B. Brozowska, T. Boychenko, B. Jensen, O. Yezhova, V. Kasatkin, V. Kuchma, V. Movchanyk, Y. Naumenko, M. Sokolowska, V. Sonkin, K. Falvinchi, V. Shapovalova and others. The significant contribution to the research activity of the European network of health promoting schools is carried out by such foreign researchers as M. Burgher, V. Barnekow, G. Buijs, T. Williams, B. Woynarowska, M. Havlinova, J. Karski, A. Krawaсski, D. Rivvet, P. Paulus, V. Simovska, H. Štumarová, I. Young, Z. Jaworski and others. The investigation of the process of formation of the normative-legal support networks of health promoting schools in the countries of Eastern Europe and the analysis of the research project «Students’ health and behavioral orientation» has allowed us to define the main directions of their activity: for Poland and Russia – health sports, for the Czech Republic and Hungary – health and preventive, for Ukraine – preventive-educational. The preventive line provides the foundation of the preventive measures system and impact of the risk factors on the development of diseases; improving-sports complex activity as sports oriented and the health on elimination of the expressed risk factors and the complex of the actions for the patients’ rehabilitation; preventive-educational direction is considered from the point of view of the benefits of the educational component (motivation on health maintenance, preventive care). The special attention is paid to the analysis of theoretical and legal bases of national networks of health promoting schools in the European countries activity. The main aspects are determined and legislated. They include the goals and objectives of the establishment and activity of the European network of health promoting schools; the main directions of its activity; forms and methods; management structure of activity and interaction and cooperation within the European network of health promoting schools. It is determined that the idea of the project of the European network of health promoting schools is a further development of the WHO strategy, developed in the Ottawa Charter, the programme «Health for all», «Health – 2020» and «Europe – 2020»
