Towards long-term standardised carbon and greenhouse gas observations for monitoring Europe ́s terrestrial ecosystems: a review
Research infrastructures play a key role in launch ing a new generation of integrated long-term, geographically dis tributed observation programmes designed to monitor climate
change, better understand its impacts on global ecosystems,
and evaluate possible mitigation and adaptation strategies. The
pan-European Integrated Carbon Observation System combines
carbon and greenhouse gas (GHG; CO2, CH4, N2O, H2O) observa tions within the atmosphere, terrestrial ecosystems and oceans.
High-precision measurements are obtained using standardised
methodologies, are centrally processed and openly available in
a traceable and verifiable fashion in combination with detailed
metadata. The Integrated Carbon Observation System ecosystem
station network aims to sample climate and land-cover vari ability across Europe. In addition to GHG flux measurements,
a large set of complementary data (including management prac tices, vegetation and soil characteristics) is collected to support
the interpretation, spatial upscaling and modelling of observed
ecosystem carbon and GHG dynamics. The applied sampling
design was developed and formulated in protocols by the scien tific community, representing a trade-off between an ideal dataset
and practical feasibility. The use of open-access, high-quality and
multi-level data products by different user communities is crucial
for the Integrated Carbon Observation System in order to achieve
its scientific potential and societal valu

Income Inequality in Latin America and the Caribbean: Evidence from Household Surveys
This paper reports information on income inequality in Latin America and the Caribbean computed from a sample of more than 50 household surveys from 20 LAC countries from 1989 to 2001. Although the core of the statistics is on household income inequality, we also report results on aggregate welfare and polarization. Inequality has moderately increased in South America in the last decade. The two main exceptions are Argentina, with a very large inequality increase, and Brazil, where inequality actually decreased. Changes have not been significant in Central America and the Caribbean. Aggregate welfare has increased in most countries fueled by economic growth and despite unequalizing distributional changes.inequality, distribution, income, wages, education, Latin America, Caribbean.

A reflection on the meaning of the word "transit" serves the purpose to link the experience of the city with the experience of translation. "Transit" designates a space of dispossession of identities, an enigma that knowledge cannot resolve. However, it has been the subject of study of contemporary thinkers such as J. Lacan and M. Delgado as well as ancient philosophers such as Lin-Tsi

The purpose of this study is to translate two short stories from the Japanese writer Motojirō Kajii into Catalan. Because this author isn't very well-known outside Japan, I have made an introduction about his life and his works and I have discussed in detail the genre shishōsetsu, the genre of his stories. Besides explaining its characteristics, I have devoted two sections to explaining its origins and its evolution and how the name shishōsetsu came to be. Finally, I have also analysed the two translated stories to show which characteristics of this genre are applied to them. Each story has its own section divided in three subsections. At the first subsection I give the context of the story, the translations that exist and, in the case of the first story, what authors have been influenced by it. In the case of the second story, I mention what works inspired Kajii while he wrote it. The second subsection is the translation, and in the third one I explain what problems I found while translating and how I solved them
