Exploring the nexus between ESG risk variations and investment preferences: Insights from sustainable ETFs during the COVID-19 era
Get PDFThis study analyzes the impact of Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) risk metrics on the financial performance of ETFs in the US and Europe from January 2020 to December 2023, particularly during the COVID-19 pandemic. It explores the influence of ESG investment trends on ETF performance and investor preferences between equities and bonds in response to ESG risk profiles. Results show a positive correlation between higher ESG standards and financial performance, measured by the Sharpe ratio, with a marked preference for bonds amidst increased ESG risks. This highlights the critical role of ESG considerations in investment strategies and risk management, providing insights for sustainable finance
Factors affecting the adoption of blockchain technology in innovative Italian companies: an extended TAM approach
No full textPurpose – The present research aims to identify the determinants for users’ behavioral adoption of Blockchain, exploring the relationships among these variables and investigating whether the proposed model can provide a more comprehensive manner to understand the adoption of Blockchain technology.
Design/methodology/approach – This study adopts the Technology Acceptance Model (TAM) approach and extends it with external constructs: “reduced cost” and “efficiency and security”. This paper used a quantitative and exploratory approach through the collection and analysis of data from a total of 108 Italian innovative SME. We have used the Partial Least Squares Structural Equation modeling (PLS-SEM) approach using SmartPLS for model evaluation.
Findings – The results show that “efficiency and security” is an important driver of firms’ decision-making process to adopt Blockchain. Moreover, the results show that perceived usefulness is a strong predictor of the intention to use Blockchain in business processes.
Originality/value – This research advances the literature on technology adoption in business processes, focusing on a particular technology: Blockchain. The field has been strengthened by investigating the determinants of technology adoption, adding new perspectives; both reduced cost and efficiency, and security
A Bibliometric Analysis to Study the Evolution of Artificial Intelligence in Business Ethics
Get PDFThe contemporary world is witnessing the pervasive diffusion of artificial intelligence (AI) across diverse societal domains.Concurrently, the implementation of these technologies in numerous management areas raises novel and critical ethical con-siderations. Considering that AI is not a neutral technology, this study employs a bibliometric approach to conduct a systematicliterature review, aiming to understand the evolution of this nascent field within management studies. Our analysis is limited topublications from 2016 onward, a year widely recognized as marking the onset of significant AI dissemination. By examining therecent years of diffusion and the evolution of this phenomenon, our work reveals a fragmented field. To investigate thematic evo-lution, we used the Cobo method, partitioning the corpus into three distinct time slices with cut-off points at 2020 and 2022. Thefindings indicate that, despite the emergence of key themes and a substantial body of research exploring AI from both technicaland philosophical standpoints, the field remains in its initial stages of development. This analysis underscores the increasing rel-evance of research in management science concerning the responsible and ethical application of AI technologies. Consequently,this area presents considerable opportunities for future management research employing diverse managerial and theoreticalframeworks, particularly in relation to the antecedents of ethical AI adoption and the implications of AI for ethical leadership
Going Beyond Counting First Authors in Author Co-citation Analysis

counts are defined. Co-citation counting provides the data on which all subsequent statistical analyses and mappings
are based, and we compare ACA results based on two different types of co-citation counting - the traditional type that
only counts the first one among a cited work's authors on the one hand and a non-traditional type that takes into
account the first 5 authors of a cited work on the other hand. Results indicate that the picture produced through this non-traditional author co-citation counting contains more coherent author groups and is therefore considerably clearer. However, this picture represents fewer specialties in the research field being studied than that produced through the traditional first-author co-citation counting when the same number of top-ranked authors is selected and analyzed. Reasons for these effects are discussed

Get PDF“Variations on the Author” discusses two of Eduardo Coutinho’s recent films (Um Dia na Vida, from 2010, and Últimas Conversas, posthumously released in 2015) and their contribution to the general question of documentary authorship. The director’s filmography is characterized by a consistent yet self-effacing form of authorial self-inscription: Coutinho often features as an interviewer that rather than express opinions propels discourses; an interviewer that is good at listening. This mode of self-inscription characterizes him as an author who is not expressive but who is nonetheless markedly present on the screen. In Um Dia na Vida, however, Coutinho is completely absent form the image, while Últimas Conversas, on the contrary, includes a confessional prologue that moves the director from the margins to the center of his films. This article examines the ways in which these works stand out in the filmography of a director who offers new insights into the notion of cinematic authorship
Appropriate Similarity Measures for Author Cocitation Analysis
Get PDFWe provide a number of new insights into the methodological discussion about author cocitation analysis. We first argue that the use of the Pearson correlation for measuring the similarity between authors’ cocitation profiles is not very satisfactory. We then discuss what kind of similarity measures may be used as an alternative to the Pearson correlation. We consider three similarity measures in particular. One is the well-known cosine. The other two similarity measures have not been used before in the bibliometric literature. No full textWe have done our best to complete the author checklist relating to the use of animals in the hut study. Note that the objective for the hut study was to evaluate the IRS treatment applications for residual efficacy against Anopheles mosquitoes, including the local An. coluzzii mosquito population. Cows were only used to attract mosquitoes into the huts and no tests were carried out directly on the cows. The author checklist is intended for use with studies where experiments are carried out on animals, which is why we have had such difficulty in completing this for the hut study, as many of the questions do not relate to how the cows were used
