C12-modules via left exact preradicals
In this paper, we study modules with the condition that images of all submodules under a left exact preradical for the category of right modules over a ring can be essentially embedded in direct summands. This new class of modules properly contains the class of C12-modules (and hence also CS-modules and uniform modules). It is shown that any module isomorphic to a direct summand of a module which satisfies the rC12 property. In contrast to CS-modules, it is shown that the class of modules with the former property is closed under essential extensions whenever any module in the new class is relative injective with respect to its essential extensions
Modules whose z-closed submodules are essentially embedded in summands
In this paper, we work out modules with the property that every z-closed submodules are essentially embedded in direct summands. This class of modules properly contains the class of CS-modules as well as some of their generalizations. It is shown that the class of modules with former property is closed under direct sums under a certain condition. Taking into account this case, we obtain several results on the inheritance of the latter closure property. Moreover, we consider the behavior of this new property for extensions of modules
SUMMAND INTERSECTION PROPERTY ON THE CLASS OF EXACT SUBMODULES
A module M is said to have the SIP if intersection of each pair of direct summands is also a direct summand of M. In this article, we define a module M to have the SIPr if and only if intersection of each pair of exact direct summands is also a direct summand of M where r is a left exact preradical for the category of right modules. We investigate structural properties of SIPr-modules and locate the implications between the other summand intersection properties. We deal with decomposition theory as well as direct summands of SIPr-modules. We provide examples by looking at special left exact preradicals
Summand intersection property of modules via z-closed submodules
In this paper, we define a module M . to be SIPz if and only if intersection of each pair of z-closed direct summands is also a direct summand of M. We investigate structural properties of SIPz-modules and locate the implications between the other module properties which are essentially based on direct summands. We deal with decomposition theory as well as direct summands of SIPz -modules. We apply our results to matrix rings. To this end, it is obtained that the SIPz property is not Morita invariant.
MODULES WHOSE EXACT SUBMODULES ARE ESSENTIALLY EMBEDDED IN SUMMANDS
In this article we study the condition that every exact submodule is essentially embedded in direct summands in a module. It is shown that the class of modules with former property is closed under direct sums. However, we provide examples which show that this new class of modules is not closed under direct summands. Failure of the latter closure property allows us to establish results on the inheritance of our condition by direct summands

Extending modules and generalizations via left exact preradicals
A module is said to be extending if every submodule is essential in a direct summand of the module. In this paper, we define and investigate in details extending notion and its two generalizations in terms of a left exact preradical in the category of right modules. Our results are based on structural and decomposition properties of these new classes of modules. Examples are included on using special left exact preradicals
Going Beyond Counting First Authors in Author Co-citation Analysis
The present study examines one of the fundamental aspects of author co-citation analysis (ACA) - the way co-citation
counts are defined. Co-citation counting provides the data on which all subsequent statistical analyses and mappings
are based, and we compare ACA results based on two different types of co-citation counting - the traditional type that
only counts the first one among a cited work's authors on the one hand and a non-traditional type that takes into
account the first 5 authors of a cited work on the other hand. Results indicate that the picture produced through this non-traditional author co-citation counting contains more coherent author groups and is therefore considerably clearer. However, this picture represents fewer specialties in the research field being studied than that produced through the traditional first-author co-citation counting when the same number of top-ranked authors is selected and analyzed. Reasons for these effects are discussed
Variations on the Author
“Variations on the Author” discusses two of Eduardo Coutinho’s recent films (Um Dia na Vida, from 2010, and Últimas Conversas, posthumously released in 2015) and their contribution to the general question of documentary authorship. The director’s filmography is characterized by a consistent yet self-effacing form of authorial self-inscription: Coutinho often features as an interviewer that rather than express opinions propels discourses; an interviewer that is good at listening. This mode of self-inscription characterizes him as an author who is not expressive but who is nonetheless markedly present on the screen. In Um Dia na Vida, however, Coutinho is completely absent form the image, while Últimas Conversas, on the contrary, includes a confessional prologue that moves the director from the margins to the center of his films. This article examines the ways in which these works stand out in the filmography of a director who offers new insights into the notion of cinematic authorship
