    The Target Situation Analysis for Bahasa Inggris Syllabus at Bunda Mulia University

    This research focused on analyzing the process and results of pre-course needs analysis focusing in the target needs for an academic English subject (Bahasa Inggris) for students of Bunda Mulia University. The data comprised the target situation analysis conducted before the course, which was collected from interviews with the head or secretary of each department at Bunda Mulia University as the users. Another is gained from questionnaires, which were delivered to the lecturers who were teaching the subject. The other data is collected by studying relevant university documents. The target situation was analyzed during that pre-course needs analysis. The result of this research will hopefully be used as the basis in devising a syllabus for Bahasa Inggris subject at Bunda Mulia University. Keywords: Needs analysis, target situation analysi

    HUBUNGAN SELF EFFICACY TERHADAP KECEMASAN BERBICARA DI DEPAN UMUM PADA MAHASISWA PROGRAM STUDI PSIKOLOGI UNIVERSITAS BUNDA MULIA

    The purpose of study is to look at the relationship between self-efficacy and public speaking anxiety in Psychology students of Bunda Mulia University. Bandura (Warsito, 2004) defines self-efficacy is an individual belief that he managed to do something in a certain situation. Bandura (1986) explaines that there are three components, self-efficacy magnitude, generality and strength. Muchlas (in Ghufron & Risnawita, 2011) defines that the term anxiety as a subjective experience of mental distress tensions and pressures that accompaied by conflict or threat. There are three components of public speaking anxiety expressed by Dacey and Fiore (2002), psychological, physiological and social. The subject of this study were Psychology students of Bunda Mulia University force from 2008 to 2011. The study was conducted using quantitative methods. The data was collected by spreading questionnaire. Based on research results, obtained by the correlation coefficient of -0.658, it can be concluded that there is a relationship between self-efficacy with public speaking anxiety in Psychology students of Bunda Mulia University Study, is accepted.     STRATEGI PROGRAM STUDI AKUNTANSI UNIVERSITAS BUNDA MULIA DALAM MENGHADAPI KONVERGENSI IFRS 2012

    The Indonesian Institute of Accountants (IIA) plans to implement the IFRS convergence in 2012 has created a big challenge for several parties, including the accounting education sector in Indonesia. The industry sector hopes that the future accounting graduates will have sufficient knowledge of International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS). This of course has brought a rather substantial impact for the development of the educational sector in universities, including Bunda Mulia University. This research is a qualitative research that explores which strategies should be used by the Accounting Program at Bunda Mulia University in order to deal with the IFRS convergence 2012, along with the obstacles that the Accounting Program may face with this convergence.To achieve this goal, a questionnaire was distributed and in-depth interviews were conducted to all active accounting lecturers teaching in the odd semester of 2011/2012.     Pengaruh Media Sosial Instagram terhadap Brand Awareness Blu by BCA Digital di Kalangan Mahasiswa Universitas Bunda Mulia

    Abstrak  Telah banyaknya bermunculan berbagai brand bank digital di Indonesia yang membuat Blu memiliki banyak kompetitor yang jauh lebih lama telah berdiri di Indonesia dan sudah lebih dikenal atau memiliki brand awareness yang lebih baik dikalangan masyarakat Indonesia dibandingkan dengan Blu by BCA Digital seperti, Bank Jago, Bank Neo Commerce, Jenius, dan Sea Bank. Peningkatan brand awareness dapat dilakukan dengan cara meningkatkan aktivitas promosi di tempat yang berperan menjadi sumber informasi bagi segmentasi dan target pasar seperti di radio, televisi, media sosial dan lain sebagainya. Untuk segmentasi mahasiswa yang menjadi target Blu, salah satu tempatnya adalah media sosial Instagram. Penelitian ini dilakukan terhadap 114 mahasiwa aktif Universitas Bunda Mulia untuk melihat apakah promosi di Instagram dapat berpengaruh terhadap brand awareness mereka untuk Blu by BCA Digital. Berdasarkan analisis regresi yang dilakukan, dapat disimpulkan bahwa terdapat hubungan yang positif dan signifikan antara media social Instagram dengan brand awareness dari Blu by BCA Digital dikalangan mahasiswa Universitas Bunda Mulia. Kata Kunci: media sosial, Instagram, bank digital, brand awareness, regresi linear Abstract                The emergence of various digital bank brands in Indonesia has made Blu have many competitors that have been established in Indonesia for much longer and are better known or have better brand awareness among the Indonesian people compared to Blu by BCA Digital such as Bank Jago, Bank Neo Commerce, Jenius, and Sea Bank. Increasing brand awareness can be done by increasing promotional activities in places that act as sources of information for market segmentation and targets such as on radio, television, social media and so on. For the student segmentation that is Blu's target, one of the places is Instagram social media. This study was conducted on 114 active students of Bunda Mulia University to see whether promotions on Instagram can affect their brand awareness for Blu by BCA Digital. As a result, mastering English is also one of keys to compete and to face global competitions for students in finding the best job in the world. English is a foreign language for Indonesian students. Therefore, the students have difficulties in learning English. The reason is that they only learn English only in the classroom. The materials they get in the classroom are only grammar.     PENGENALAN BUDAYA MELALUI MOTION GRAPHIC “HAKKA, THE STORY AND PHILOSOPHY OF IT’S PEOPLE”

    Hakka adalah salah satu sub-etnis Tionghoa di Indonesia. Bangsa Hakka merupakan keturunan suku Han yang berada di Tiongkok. Bangsa Hakka tiba di Nusantara setelah berkali-kali terpaksa melakukan perpindahan masal dari asalnya yang terletak di Selatan Sungai Kuning, Tiongkok, bahkan hingga harus meninggalkan Tiongkok akibat peperangan, bencana alam dan sebab lainnya. Tiba di Nusantara Bangsa Hakka membangun kehidupan mereka dan berpartisipasi membangun Nusantara yang menjadi tempat tinggal barunya. Dalam upaya bertahan di Nusantara sebagai salah satu sub-etnis Tionghoa, mereka harus banyak beradaptasi, termasuk dalam kebudayaan. Berbagai bentuk kebudayaan Tionghoa telah mengalami masa yang cukup panjang dalam proses akulturasi dengan kebudayaan asli Indonesia. Walaupun kebudayaan Tionghoa pernah mengalami masalah politis, hingga perkembangannya melambat, namun berkat adanya perubahan kebijakan, budaya Tionghoa, termasuk Hakka, dapat kembali diterima.Bertujuan untuk melestarikan dan  mengembangkan kebudayaan Tionghoa, khususnya kebudayaan Hakka, serta berkontribusi dalam pembangunan bangsa dan kebudayaan Indonesia, Yayasan Hakka Indonesia membangun Museum Hakka Indonesia di Taman Mini Indonesia Indah. Namun museum tersebut belum memiliki materi edukasi berbentuk multimedia. Sementara itu, multimedia merupakan salah satu media yang dibutuhkan museum untuk menyampaikan materi edukasinya secara lebih informatif, menarik dan menghibur kepada para pengunjung, maupun kepada masyarakat luas. Untuk itu, penelitian ini akan menghasilkan suatu rekomendasi berupa suatu model video motion graphic, tentang sejarah dan kebudayaan masyarakat Hakka yang dapat disaksikan oleh pengunjung museum dan dapat dibagikan pula kepada masyarakat luas melalui jaringan internet. Dengan demikian diharapkan dapat menambah wawasan dan pemahaman tentang budaya Hakka dan Tionghoa secara umum dan meningkatkan harmonisasi hubungan baik dalam masyarakat. Sebagai pendekatan budaya, video ini menerapkan elemen yang menggunakan simbol, ornament, wana, tipografi, ilustrasi maupun audio yang terinsipirasi oleh budaya Tionghoa. Untuk menghasilkan rancangan yang sesuai dengan kebutuhan terutama untuk menyampaikan informasi secara jelas dan menarik, maka penelitian ini menerapkan metode penelitian kualitatif deskriptif, dengan perancangan yang sesuai tahap pemikiran desain. 

    PENGARUH EMPLOYEE EMPOWERMENT DAN PSYCHOLOGICAL CONTRACT TERHADAP TURNOVER INTENTION YANG DIMEDIASI EMPLOYEE ENGAGEMENT (Studi Empiris : Karyawan PT. XYZ)

    Penelitian ini dijalankan didasari atas permasalahan yang terjadi pada PT. XYZ yang sedang mengalami permasalahan mengenai tingginya tingkat turnover intention dari karyawan yang diduga terjadi karena employee empowerment dan psychological contract yang dimediasi oleh employee engagement. Jenis riset yang digunakan pada penelitin ini yaitu pengujian hipotesis atau testing hypothesis dengan dimensi waktu penelitian yang digunakan adalah cross sectional. Unit analisis dalam penelitian ini adalah karyawan pada PT. XYZ sejumlah 56 orang. Metode pengumpulan data yang digunakan adalah kuesioner dengan metode pengolahan data Partial Least Square. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa employee empowerment memiliki pengaruh yang positif dan signifikan terhadap employee engagement,  psychological contract memiliki pengaruh yang positif signifikan terhadap employee engagement, employee engagement memiliki pengaruh yang negatif dan signifikan terhadap turnover intention, employee empowerment tidak memiliki pengaruh signifikan terhadap turnover intention, psychological contract tidak memiliki pengaruh signifikan terhadap turnover intention, employee engagement dapat memediasi pengaruh employee empowerment terhadap turnover intention secara positif dan signifikan dan employee engagement dapat memediasi pengaruh psychological contract terhadap turnover intention secara positif dan signifikan.Kata kunci: Employee empowerment, psychological contract, employee engagement, turnover intention.This research was conducted based on problems that occurred in XYZ Firm who is experiencing problems regarding the high turnover intention rate of employees that allegedly occurred because of employee empowerment and psychological contract mediated by employee engagement. The type of research used is hypothesis testing or testing hypothesis with the dimensions of research time used is cross sectional. The analysis unit in this study is an employee at XYZ Firm numbered 56 people. The method of data collection used is a questionnaire with partial least square data processing method. The results showed that employee empowerment has a positive and significant influence on employee engagement, psychological contract has a significant positive influence on employee engagement, employee engagement has a negative and significant influence on turnover intention, employee empowerment does not have a significant influence on turnover intention, psychological contract has no significant influence on turnover intention, employee engagement can mediate the influence of employee empowerment on turnover intention positively and significantly and employee engagement can mediate the influence of psychological contract on turnover intention positive and significant.Keywords: Employee empowerment, psychological contract, employee engagement, turnover intention, packaging and office supply industry

UBM has variety institutional identities, especially mascot that will be the object of this research. Mascot is a new way to socialize UBM’s values through website, POM, doll and other promotion tools.UBM has a dolphin mascot namely “Bi-eM”. ‘B’ is abbreviation from Bunda; meanwhile ‘M’ stands for Mulia. The choice of this mascot is because of the characteristics of dolphin. It is smart, diligent, sincere, and helpful.     Analysis of the Effectiveness of the Recovery Toolkit for Storage Media Using a Criteria-Based Evaluation Approach

    In the rapidly developing digital era, the use of various storage media is also increasing. However, data loss can occur for various reasons, including user error in formatting storage media. Therefore, data recovery techniques become an important way to restore lost information. Thus, this study aims to compare the effectiveness of the Wondershare Recoverit and EaseUS Data data recovery toolkits in the storage media data recovery process using a criteria-based evaluation approach. This study uses the Experiment method as a stage to test the performance of both toolkits, with a focus on evaluating and comparing the effectiveness of both data recovery tools in finding the amount of data, the speed of the data recovery process, and the quality of the data that has been successfully recovered. Testing is carried out using formatted storage media to determine the level of success of the two toolkits.     Design of an Integrated Database System for Optimizing Laundry Services

    The rapid advancement of technology has brought significant changes across various sectors, including service industries like laundry. Many laundry businesses still rely on manual, paper-based record-keeping, which is prone to errors, data loss, and inefficiencies in information retrieval. This traditional method also makes it difficult for business owners to monitor transactions and manage customers effectively. Therefore, this study aims to design a database system that can manage laundry transactions more efficiently, accurately, and structurally. The research methodology includes direct observation of laundry operations and a literature review on database systems. The database design process consists of three main stages: conceptual, logical, and physical. In the conceptual stage, key entities such as customers, employees, services, transactions, and memberships are identified. The logical stage implements relational schemas using an Entity-Relationship Diagram (ERD) to ensure entity relationships and eliminate data redundancy. The physical stage involves implementing the database design into a Database Management System (DBMS) and testing through anomaly scenarios in insertion, deletion, and updates to ensure data integrity and consistency. The study results indicate that the designed database system enhances laundry operational efficiency by providing more accurate transaction records, faster data retrieval, and improved data security. The use of constraints in the database helps maintain data validity, reduce duplication risks, and improve system reliability in transaction management. With this system, laundry business owners can easily monitor business activities, enhance service quality, and optimize marketing strategies based on customer data.
