Genchain: A blockchain based genetic disease prediction system
Genetic testing can be used to learn about the genetic disorders a person may have based on their family history; however, they are overpriced and out of reach for many. We propose Genchain, which is a secure, private consortium blockchain system that calculates the probability of genetic diseases. Our system stores the information of the genetic diseases a user and their family have in a blockchain, and when requested, calculates the possible genetic disease percentages. The solution involves sending genetic disease data from all hospitals registered in the private system to Genchain, along with the family numbers of the patients taken from a trusted authority. Genchain uses the Paillier cryptosystem, a probabilistic asymmetric method for public key cryptography, which has the property of homomorphism, which we will use in our encryption scheme to protect the confidentiality and privacy of the system
On the Use of Evolutionary Coupling for Software Architecture Recovery
Software architecture documentation can be partially obtained automatically by means of software architecture recovery tools. These tools mainly cluster software modules to provide a high level structural organization of these modules. They use dependency graphs as input. These graphs reflect various types of coupling among software modules. In this paper, we present an empirical evaluation of using evolutionary coupling as a complementary source of information for software architecture recovery. We use 3 open source projects as subject systems. We derive inter-module dependencies for these systems based on various levels of evolutionary coupling among their modules. We investigate the accuracy of software architecture recovery when input dependency graphs are extended with these additional dependencies. Results show that involving evolutionary coupling in the process can increase the accuracy of architecture recovery by up to 40%
Muhammed Esad dede ve mesnevi şerhi
Muhammed Esad Dede 19. asrın sonları ile 20. asrın başlarında yaşamış mutasavvıf bir şahsiyettir. 1843 yılında Selanik’te doğan Esad Dede, ilk öğrenimini burada tamamladıktan sonra İstanbul’a gelmiş, ileri derecede Arapça ve Farsça öğrenmiştir. Pek çok hocadan özel dersler ve bir çok tarikatten icâzet almıştır. Hayatının son yıllarında mesnevîhanlık görevini ifâ etmiş, yazdığı pek çok eseri Yenikapı Mevlevihanesi’nde yanarak yok olmuştur. Günümüze ulaştığını bildiğimiz iki eseri bulunmaktadır. Bunlar, İmdadullah Tehânevî’nin Ziyau’l-kulûb adlı eserinin tercümesi ve Şerh-i Mesnevî’dir. Şerh-i Mesnevî’de Esad Dede, Mesnevî’nin 500 küsür beytini çeşitli mutasavvıfların görüşlerinden hareketle ve mensur olarak şerh etmiştir. Bu çalışmada önce Mesnevî tercüme ve şerhleri hakkında bilgi verilmiş, ardından Esad Dede’nin hayatı, ilmî-edebî-tasavvufî şahsiyeti incelenmiştir. Şerh-i Mesnevî’nin Konya’da bulunan iki nüshası karşılaştırılmış ve sağlam bir metin elde edilmeye çalışılmıştırMuhammed Esad Dede who is a guru lived between at the end of 19. Century and at the beginning of 20. Century. Esad Dede was born in Selanik in 1843. After he completed his basic education in Selanik, came Istanbul and learned advanced level of Persian and Arabic languages. He got private lessons from many teachers and authorization from many sects. In the last years of his life, he became mesnevihân. Texts written by Esad Dede were consumed because of a fire in Yenikapı Whirling Dervish Hall. At present we have two extant text of Esad Dede. These are: “The Translation of Ziya’ul-kulûb which belongs to İmdadullah Tehanevi” and “Şerh-i Mesnevî”. In Commentary of Mesnevî, Esad Dede explained almost 500 verse of Mesnevî. His explanation is based on different gurus’ thought. In this work, firstly the information about translation and commentary of Mesnevî are given and then life of Esad Dede and his technical, literary and sufistic character are analysed. HYGAR: a hybrid genetic algorithm for software architecture recovery
Genetic algorithms have been used for clustering modules of a software system in line with the modularity principle. The goal of these algorithms is to recover an architectural view in the form of a modular structural decomposition of the system. We discuss design decisions and variations in existing genetic algorithms devised for this purpose. We introduce HYGAR, a novel hybrid variant of existing algorithms. We apply HYGAR for software architecture recovery of 5 real systems and compare its effectiveness with respect to a baseline and a state-of-the-art hybrid algorithm. Results show that HYGAR outperforms these algorithms in maximizing the modularity of the obtained clustering.TÜBİTA
Going Beyond Counting First Authors in Author Co-citation Analysis
The present study examines one of the fundamental aspects of author co-citation analysis (ACA) - the way co-citation
counts are defined. Co-citation counting provides the data on which all subsequent statistical analyses and mappings
are based, and we compare ACA results based on two different types of co-citation counting - the traditional type that
only counts the first one among a cited work's authors on the one hand and a non-traditional type that takes into
account the first 5 authors of a cited work on the other hand. Results indicate that the picture produced through this non-traditional author co-citation counting contains more coherent author groups and is therefore considerably clearer. However, this picture represents fewer specialties in the research field being studied than that produced through the traditional first-author co-citation counting when the same number of top-ranked authors is selected and analyzed. Reasons for these effects are discussed
Variations on the Author
“Variations on the Author” discusses two of Eduardo Coutinho’s recent films (Um Dia na Vida, from 2010, and Últimas Conversas, posthumously released in 2015) and their contribution to the general question of documentary authorship. The director’s filmography is characterized by a consistent yet self-effacing form of authorial self-inscription: Coutinho often features as an interviewer that rather than express opinions propels discourses; an interviewer that is good at listening. This mode of self-inscription characterizes him as an author who is not expressive but who is nonetheless markedly present on the screen. In Um Dia na Vida, however, Coutinho is completely absent form the image, while Últimas Conversas, on the contrary, includes a confessional prologue that moves the director from the margins to the center of his films. This article examines the ways in which these works stand out in the filmography of a director who offers new insights into the notion of cinematic authorship
Appropriate Similarity Measures for Author Cocitation Analysis
We provide a number of new insights into the methodological discussion about author cocitation analysis. We first argue that the use of the Pearson correlation for measuring the similarity between authors’ cocitation profiles is not very satisfactory. We then discuss what kind of similarity measures may be used as an alternative to the Pearson correlation. We consider three similarity measures in particular. One is the well-known cosine. The other two similarity measures have not been used before in the bibliometric literature.
