"Who will listen to the tale of my woeful heart?" The portrait of 'nautch girls' in early Urdu literature
The author presents a commentary on the portrayal of `nautch girls' in Urdu novel. In a discussion on Mirza Hadi Ruswa's Umrao Jan Ada, hasan Shah's Fasana-e Rangin, Quratulain hyder's Gardish-e Rang-e Chaman, Sa'adat Hasan Manto's "Mozail", and Ghulam 'Abbas' "Anandi," Raza Rumi analyzes these major fiction works by rehabilitating them in a continuum of an important theme in Urdu literature—the theme of confident, empowered, and highly intelligent female characters who appear in the public sphere.

Conflict of law and the methodology of Tarjīẖ : a study in Islamic legal theory
Islamic law never achieved unity but expressed itself in, at least, four surviving schools. More interestingly, contemporary Muslim communities are still divided among themselves on a number of issues related to their laws. This work describes how problem of legal conflicts have been tackled by Muslim jurists. It is an attempt to examine closely the phenomenon of conflict in Islamic law from the standpoint of usūl-al-fiqh or Islamic legal theory. In fact, much is heard nowadays of the contradiction in the body of Islamic law. Whilst in contrast, little is presented in terms of the methodology of removing this conflict. The present work therefore, attempts to redress this balance. The emphasis of the work will be concerned primarily with tarjīh methodology ; how to give preference to one piece of evidence or argument over the other when they conflict. Nevertheless, considerable concern is given to investigating the background to the conflict of law in the Shari'ah.
This study of a neglected area in Islamic legal scholarship will be an important source of reference to students, both practising and theoretical jurists or to anyone who merely wishes to increase his knowledge of legal themes, particularly legal conflict. The very aim of the work is to argue that conflict is a natural and unavoidable consequence of legal study because legal conflict is only conflicting principles and arguments adduced by both the classical and modern jurists to reach what is actually intended by God in the target case. Therefore, conflicts are inevitable in most of the cases in fiqh owing to the variety of principles set out to deal with one piece of legal evidence, let alone with all the pieces of legal evidence in question.
Tarjīh is therefore, an important and workable instrument in the re-examination of these conflicts and in arriving at the most accurate principle for establishing the law for as long as this is possible. It is hoped that the discovery of new facts and the increase of knowledge which results from the broadening and deepening of the research will positively contribute to the process of unification of Islamic law

اقبال کی فارسی شعرگوئی
The Persian poetry of Allama Muhammad Iqbal is an extraordinary exposition of his poetical wisdom, philosophical thinking. He started writing in Persian in between 1896 to 1900. The one of important dimensions of the Persian poetry of Allama Iqbal is his intuitional genius which is reflected in his Persian poetry more effectively than in Urdu. As when he was writing his early Urdu poems like "Spas Janab Amir", "NalaeYateem", and "ShukriyaAngushtary" the Persian verses were also a part of these poems. The deep study of Persian literary and philosophical tradition during his PhD, he was furthermore engaged in profound study of Persian poetry. The mystical tradition of Persian poetry had also deep impact on Allama Muhammad Iqbal. That is why his first book was written on the pattern of Masnavi of Boo Ali Qalandar
Heidegger’s Presentational Strategies: The Ontological Priority of the Readiness-to-hand over the Presence-at-hand
Drawing upon the interpretations of Martin Heidegger’s Being and Time offered by the favorable commentators such as Hubert Dreyfus, Robert Dostal, Harrison Hall, and Charles Taylor, this paper responds to Heidegger’s unsympathetic commentator Herman Philipse’s critical interpretation of Being and Time (Sections 12-18 of Division I) and shows the validity of Heidegger’s claim for the ontological priority of the practical world over the theoretical world. This has been done by showing that the practical world where readiness-to-hand is the norm, emerges from a self-correcting, transient originary situation where readiness-to-hand is primordial to us while we arrive at the theoretical aspect of presence-at-hand when we encounter the unreadiness-to-hand. This paper also shows that Heidegger’s text is coherent and consistent. This has been done by looking at the structure of Heidegger’s presentational strategies and by making links explicit in them. We have also looked afresh at how he defines certain pivotal elements of his practical world and their relationship with each other
Determination of frequency of the second mesiobuccal canal in the permanent maxillary first molar teeth with magnification loupes (* 35)
Introduction: The mesiobuccal root of the maxillary first molar has generated more research and clinical investigation than any root. An inability to detect and treat a second mesiobuccal (MB2) canal is a reason for endodontic failure in maxillary first molars. Modifications in the endodontic access and detection techniques, along with advancements in illumination and magnification technology, have aided in the location and treatment with the second mesiobuccal canal of maxillary first molars. Objective: To determine the frequency of the second mesiobuccal canal in the permanent maxillary first molars with magnification loupes (* 3.5).MATERIALS AND Methods: A total of 53 teeth were assessed using a moderate magnification for second mesiobuccal canal in mesiobuccal root of first permanent maxillary molars in vivo. Detection of this canal in maxillary first molars was done through a clinical access cavity preparation under magnification loupes (* 3.5). Data was analyzed using SPSS 15.0. Frequency distribution of variables was determined and the level of significance was kept at 0.05.Results: We were able to detect second mesiobuccal canal in 27 out of 53 (50.9%) of the permanent maxillary first molars that were studied. It was found that the males tend to have a higher proportion of second mesiobuccal canals (up to 31%) as compared to the females in whom the second mesiobuccal canals could be identified only 19% of the time. Whilst, there was no association found between age, gender and chamber obliteration with the presence of second mesiobuccal canal.CONCLUSIONS: In conclusion, within its limitations, this study suggested that the use of magnification loupes enhanced both the detection (50.9%) and negotiation (86.8%) of the second mesiobuccal canals in the permanent maxillary first molars beyond what could be achieved with naked eye
