Purpose This research studies the relationship between transfer of learning and motor movement on how a skill can be transferred, retained and produce consistency in performance by applying the theoretical principle in Encoding Specificity Principle (ESP). Methodology: Subjects selection based on the convenient sampling method. This method was used, as subjects in Universiti Pendidikan Sultan Idris (UPSI) were the least experience group in netball compared to other universities in Malaysia, thus satisfies the specific criteria that the researcher had set. Subjects was interviewed and involved in a shooting test before the researcher determines the grouping. Subjects were n= 40 (female) with age ranged between 20 - 25 years old, heights between 1.50m - 1.75m and weights between 40kg - 75kg. To ensure that useful and reliable data are collected, certain procedures are necessary in the collecting the data. The procedures was strictly adhered during the entire course of the study and classified as an experimental research. Subject was asked to perform two (2) tests. Pre and post-tests was conducted on every subject to determine their performance. The tests are specific visual aid training vs no specific visual aid training and specific verbal training instruction vs no verbal training instruction. The experimental group undergoes training (with a pre-determined training procedures) prior to the post-tests while the control group was not undergoing any predetermined training procedures. Results Paired Sample T-Test results showed that there was a significant difference in achievement for the treatment tests. In Test 1 (specific visual aid training test), the result was p-value (0.00), medium effect size (ES) of 0.5 and omega squared at 80%. In Test 2 (specific verbal training instruction test), the result was p-value (0.00), low effect size (ES) of 0.1 and omega squared at 80%. Therefore, all of the tests null hypotheses were rejected without creating Type 1 and Type 2 error. Findings The findings indicated that ESP had affected the performance of the subjects. These finding was consistent with the past studies, which indicates the transfer of learning principles in ESP were consistently able to show successful transfer rate. However, for future study purpose, studies in this area need to be conducted on athletes at high competitive level

Simulation to improve CO2 capture using vapor recompression combined with split-stream process / Muhammad Hafeez Azhar

In this era of globalization, carbon dioxide (CO2) has become one of the main component of greenhouse gases emitted into the atmosphere. Large quantities of CO2 is released through power generation from fossil fuel-fired power plants. Due to this problem, CO2 capture technologies have been developed which it is one of the techniques that could be used to reduce CO2 emissions from human activities. The most well-known technology for post combustion CO2 capture from exhaust gas is absorption in amine-based solvent followed by desorption. The solvent used in this absorption process is monoethanolamine (MEA). However, this method encountered drawback such as low performance of CO2 capture efficiency. The objective of this study is to improve CO2 capture using vapor recompression combined with split-stream process and study the parameters that affect CO2 capture. Simulation using Aspen HYSYS version 8.8 was used in this study. The fluid package used was Amine Property Package (acid gas). The inlet temperature and pressure at the absorber and concentration of MEA were varied to investigate the effect on CO2 capture. The result shows that the CO2 removal efficiency increases as the inlet temperature and concentration of MEA increases. However, the increment was small which only gave small effect on percentage of CO2 removal. In contrast with inlet pressure at the absorber, CO2 removal efficiency was highly dependent on the pressure and gave high impact on percentage of CO2 removal. The best operating condition obtained from this study was at 80 oC, 400 kpa and 0.14 wt% MEA concentration

The model and design of the IP core of Serial Peripheral Interface (SPI) with Advanced Peripheral Bus (APB) interfacing is presented in this paper. SPI is known as a kind of serial protocol for serial communication bus developed by Motorola and has become de facto standard. There is possibility for a system to have more than one slaves for the integrated circuit, however the master can only be one at any given time. Hence, in this work, the SPI was modelled by Verilog code and it was simulated and synthesized using ModelSim and Quartus Prime Lite Edition 16.0 for earlier stage of design. While Synopsys Tools i.e. Design Compiler was used as the primary synthesis for the design. The SPI interface was designed to send or receive data from a single slave and efficient APB-SPI controller with flexible data width and frequency is proven for maximum frequency of 16 MHz. The modes of SPI also play its role in this work where this protocol can run through four modes that corresponds to four possible clocking configurations. The results showed that the core of SPI was successfully modelled for mode 0, 1, 2 and 3. In additon, the modes were simulated with maximum operating frequency of 16 MHz and flexibility in all four clocking modes. The ASIC design of this work consumed 27750 μm2 and 47.12μW using Silterra 0.18μm CMOS process

The model and design of the intellectual property (IP) core of serial peripheral interface (SPI) with Advanced Microcontroller Bus Architecture (AMBA) - Advanced Peripheral Bus (APB) interfacing are presented. The objectives of the project are to model and design a SPI that is interfacing with IP core of APB for sending and receiving data from a single slave to model APB-SPI controller with controllable data and designed with maximum operating frequency of 16 MHz and flexibility in all four clocking modes and finally to synthesize and validate the model of the SPI design. For this work, research regarding interfacing SPI with another core and designing the SPI itself is essential for the project. The design and simulation of SPI master and slave is based on Verilog coding. The Verilog code is the main language that is use for designing and running simulations for this project. SPI is one of the commonly used serial protocols that can send or receive data from a single or multi-slave. Due to proliferation of communication protocols and requirement of flexibility in communication, this work shows how an architecture of APB-SPI controller with controllable data width and an operating frequency of 16MHz is designed. The SPI is simulated, verified, synthesized, carry a layout design and routed using tools such from the electronic design automation (EDA) tools which is Synopsys, simulation software which are ModelSim and Quartus prime lite. The design and implementation of SPI model interface is targeted to be used in Low Power Wireless Microcontroller Unit and its specification is based on Nordic Wireless RF System on Chip. The modes of SPI also play important role in this work where this protocol can run through four modes that corresponds to four possible clocking configurations. The results showed that the core of SPI was successfully modelled and designed with maximum operating frequency of 16 MHz and flexibility in all four clocking modes. The ASIC design of this work consumed an area of 27750 um2 and a power of 47.12uW by using Silterra 0.18um for future fabrication CMOS process
