This study explores the cultural and mythological symbols in Urdu ghazal that were introduced in the early seventies. Besides, it intends to look back to the past and find the significance and the relevance of the current scenario at that time. Muhammad Izhar- ul-Haq is a prominent and prolific poet who has also used mythological and cultural symbols from Arab and non Arab civilizations in Urdu ghazal. His first collection of Ghazals, Deewar-e Aab, is an important milestone in this new style of ghazal. Conclusively, the article is an attempt to cover the different stages of Muhammad Izhar- ul- Haq's civilizational sensibility in Deewar-e Aab

Potential of dairy digestate as a biofertilizer: effects on growth, yield and phytochemicals of lettuce in hydroponics

    No full text
Lettuce (Lactuca sativa L) is a leafy vegetable containing an immense variety of minerals, vitamins and health-promoting secondary metabolites which are required for normal functioning of human body and health. Anaerobic digestate contains proportionately higher mineralized nutrients particularly ammonium-N (NH4⁺ -N) compared to undigested materials, and therefore has the potential to be used as a mineral nutrient source in soil based and soilless culture. A pilot study was conducted at St. Davids dairy farm site to investigate the effects of anaerobic dairy digestate (DD), inorganic nutrient solution (NS) and combine application of DD and NS on the growth, yield and quality indices of lettuce varieties in hydroponics under controlled environment conditions. Results showed that NS produced significantly higher leaf area (LA), chlorophyll content, root dry weight, yield, minerals and vitamins concentration of lettuce, compared to DD solution which produced lower LA, chlorophyll contents, yield and higher concentration of phenolics (chicoric acid, chlorogenic acid, luteoline, quercitin-3-b-d-gluconide, quercitin-3-glucoside and quercitin-b-malonyl) and antioxidants. Romaine lettuce showed superior performance and produced higher LA, chlorophyll contents, root dry weight, yield, minerals, vitamins, total phenolics, total antioxidants and polyphenols than Newham. It can be concluded that DD can be used as an organic fertilizer/nutrient source in hydroponics to enhance phenolics and antioxidants of lettuce without significant reduction in yield. Further research is needed to reduce Ammonium-N/Nitrate (NH4⁺/NO3⁻) in DD without dilution to avoid phytotoxic effects of NH4⁺ and loss of other macro and micro nutrient , and to establish the utilization of DD as a sole fertilizer source in hydroponic system.Includes bibliographical references

Implementation and Progress of Telemedicine in Poland: Comparative Analysis with EU Member States

    No full text
Theoretical background: Telemedicine has become a critical component of modern healthcare, offering the potential to improve patient outcomes, streamline clinical workflow, and facilitate more informed decision-making. Its implementation in healthcare systems offers the opportunity to leverage technology to improve access, efficiency, and quality of care. Purpose of the article: This study aims to investigate the implementation of telemedicine in the Polish healthcare system and assess its adoption in comparison with other EU countries. It also aims to assess the impact of the rate of adoption of teleconsultations as a percentage of all consultations in Poland on the quality and accessibility of healthcare in comparison with other EU member states.Research methods: This research used a literature-based approach, analyzing existing scientific articles, government reports and OECD data to understand the current state of telemedicine in Poland and EU countries. Data on the implementation rate of medical teleconsultations as a percentage of all consultations were collected from national healthcare databases and Eurostat.Main findings: The study highlights the urgent need to prioritize telemedicine in Poland to enhance healthcare efficiency. Poland’s teleconsultation rate (25%) and digitized health records (41%) lag behind leading EU nations such as Denmark, Germany, and the Netherlands, which have higher telemedicine adoption and fully digitized records. The low adoption rate in Poland contributes to inefficiencies, administrative burdens, and healthcare disparities, especially in rural areas. Countries with advanced telemedicine systems demonstrate improved patient outcomes, reduced hospital congestion, and optimized resource allocation. Strategic measures, including infrastructure development, policy reforms, and digital education, are essential for Poland’s healthcare modernization

Monitoring Multiple Linear Profile based on EWMA Control Charts by using Ridge Regression Estimators: an application to Wind Tunnel data of NASA Langley Research Centre

In many quality control studies the performance of a product or process is usually characterized by a single response variable However, in some applications of quality control, the performance of a product or a process can be best characterized by a linear relationship between a response variable and one or more explanatory variables (Noorossana et al., 2011). But, when more than one explanatory variables are involved in the profile it may indicate the presence of high collinearity among explanatory variables which is called multicollinearity (Gujarati et al., 2012). It should be noted that if the multicollinearity is neglected during the profile monitoring, then the designed control charts applied in phase II lack the sufficient effectiveness in detecting shifts or out of control signals. In this paper, the effect of the multicollinearity on the monitoring of multiple linear profiles has been studied and some new type of Exponentially Weighted Moving Average (EWMA) control charts for Intercept, Slopes and Mean Squared Error (MSE) by using Ridge Regression Estimators (RRE) have been proposed in order to provide the solution for multicollinearity. An application of wind tunnel data by NASA Langley Research Centre was used for monitoring profiles based on proposed EWMA control charts for Intercept, Slopes and MSE. The performance of the proposed EWMA control charts have been evaluated on the Average Run Length (ARL) criterion, the results indicated that the proposed EWMA control charts obtained from RRE for Intercept, Slopes and MSE outperform the existing control charts obtained from Ordinary Least Squared (OLS) estimator
