This investigation was under Classroom Action Research (CAR) and was done in two cycles consisted of four stages namely planning, acting, observing and reflecting. The subjects were the students of SMP Negeri 2 Sinjai Tengah in academic year 2016/2017. The data was collected through observation, questionnaires, and interview. While the results of CAR, both in the first and the second cycle shows that the students’ motivation and participation in the English learning process significantly improved by implementing SA. All students gave positive responses toward the implementation of SA in the English class. Of the two variables, participation variable is higher than the motivation variable. For learning motivation, students’ reaction toward the teacher’s responses and spirit of the students in carrying out their tasks were the most motivating factors of the students in learning. Meanwhile for the classroom participation, classroom embodied action and silent or non-oral participation were the most participation activities favored by students
Lecturers' Interpersonal Communication Skills and Their Influence on Student Engagement in EFL Speaking Classes
This study examines the role of lecturers' interpersonal communication skills in enhancing English as a Foreign Language (EFL) speaking classes, focusing on both verbal and nonverbal communication strategies. Using a qualitative approach, data were collected through semi-structured interviews and classroom observations involving two EFL lecturers in Indonesia. The findings reveal that lecturers’ deliberate application of interpersonal communication, including verbal techniques such as modeling English use and engaging discussions, as well as nonverbal cues like gestures and body language, positively impacts students’ motivation, confidence, and active participation in speaking activities. Lecturers highlighted the importance of building rapport and creating a supportive classroom environment to foster student engagement, aligned with Vygotsky's Social Constructivist Theory on interactive learning. However, challenges related to cultural variations in nonverbal communication were noted, indicating a need for intercultural awareness in diverse classrooms. This study contributes to EFL pedagogy by emphasizing the significance of interpersonal communication in promoting effective language learning and suggests incorporating communication skills training into EFL teacher development programs

Lecturers’perception of Hybrid Learning Model In Teaching English For Business
This study explores lecturers’ perceptions of the hybrid learning model in teaching English for Business, focusing on its implementation, challenges, and benefits. The hybrid model, blending face-to-face and online instruction, is increasingly adopted in higher education to accommodate diverse student needs and enhance learning outcomes. Using a qualitative research design, data were collected through interviews, observations, and document analysis involving four lecturers. The findings reveal hybrid learning facilitates a comprehensive understanding of course material by integrating theoretical and practical elements. In-person sessions were utilized for interactive discussions and role-playing, while online platforms supported asynchronous learning and resource access. However, lecturers faced challenges, including technological barriers such as unstable internet connections, increased workload due to dual teaching responsibilities, and difficulties in maintaining student engagement during asynchronous activities. Despite these issues, the hybrid model enhanced flexibility, promoted digital literacy and fostered innovative teaching practices. Students gained valuable self-regulation and technology skills, while lecturers leveraged diverse teaching tools to create dynamic lessons. The study concludes that hybrid learning is an effective model for teaching English for Business, offering flexibility, accessibility, and enriched learning experiences. Its success, however, depends on addressing key challenges, including technological infrastructure, training, and support for both lecturers and students. This research contributes to understanding the potential and limitations of hybrid learning, emphasizing the need for strategic planning and institutional investment to optimize its implementation

Kumpulan Puisi Hybrid Learning
Pengantar Penerbit
Puisi merupakan suatu cara bagi penyair untuk mengungkapkan opini,
gagasan atau perasaan dalam kalimat yang ringkas dan sederhana,
namun kaya makna.
Ketika editor mendapatkan naskah ini, salah satu penulis
mengutarakan hasratnya untuk berbagi gairah perjuangan dalam
mendidik tunas bangsa selama masa endemik.
