Melaleuca species (pokok Gelam) are a potential sources of renewable energy, melaleuca bark can produce the porous carbon materials for hydrogen storage, which is clean energy solution for future transportation. In this research, stembark of Melaleuca cajuput; Powell ware washed with distilled water to remove any contaminant and dirt before dry it at room temperature. After drying, it was shredded into smaller size for process crushed and grinded into powdered form. In pyrolysis process, powdered stembark of Melaleuca cajuput; Powell were investigate in a non-isothermal thermogravimetric analyser (TGA) in order to determine the degradation behavior of powdered stembark. There are two stage present, which first stage due to the elimination of moisture content and small amount of volatile matter compound and second stage is the place where plant biomass (hemicellulos, cellulose and lignin) degrade. The main decomposition of samples occurred between 230 - 387°C, at heating rate 10°C/min, corresponds to the degradation of 63.47% of volatile matter. Weight loss of sample, was strongly affected by heating rates. It was found that an increasing in heating rates results in a shift of thermograms to higher temperature. Attenuated Total Reflectance-Fourier Transform Infrared (ATR-FTIR.) was performed to determine the possible chemical functional groups present in stembark of Melaleuca cajuputi Powell. From the ATR-FTIR. analysis, there were volatile components that found. such as CO, H20, O-H, and cyclic and C02. Results showed that. stem bark of Melaleuca cajuput Powell can be characterized as high volatile matter and low ash components compared to other biomasses. The activation energy of Melaleuca cajuputi Powell, was calculated by using model free FLYNN-WALL-OZAWA (FWO) and Kissinger-Akahira-Sunose (KAS) methods and ranges value were 17.15 - 32.6 kJ/mol and 17.35 - 30.04 kJ/mol, respectively

Evaluation of the performance of the vehicular ad hoc network protocols in the case of V2I and EV2I communications

    No full text
Vehicular ad hoc network (VANET) is an intelligent technology that enables efficient communication, secure data transmission, and traffic management. The purpose of routing protocols in the VANET network is to route data between vehicles (V2V) and vehicles-to-infrastructure (V2I). Recently, researchers have shown interest in designing effective routing protocols for the VANET network, as not all existing protocols are suitable for all traffic scenarios. Electric vehicles (EVs) are increasingly being adopted and integrated into intelligent transportation systems (ITS). Developed countries are actively promoting sustainable transportation solutions to increase energy efficiency and reduce carbon emissions. Therefore, this research presents an EV charging station (CS) management scheme based on communication between EVs and RSUs, with performance evaluation simulated using VANET network protocols. In this study, the G-MDORA, MDORA, and geographical routing protocol (GRP) protocols were modified to accommodate V2I communication, and RSUs were distributed along the roadmap. Additionally, a scheme for managing electric vehicle CS was presented, focusing on the communication between electric vehicles and RSUs in the EV2I context. Performance was evaluated using the G-MDORA, GRP, and MDORA protocols, considering factors such as throughput, communication overhead, packet delivery ratio, and end to end delay

    No full text
The purpose of this study is to provide a detailed financial performance evaluation focus on market measure or market performance of TA Enterprise Berhad. This paper uses key financial ratios which is market measures of the financial performance of this company. The calculated ratios will be analyzed and used for the financial performance evaluation. The research only include data which has been derived from TA Enterprise Berhad income statements, balance sheet, and statements of cash flows under their financial statements in their annual reports from the year 2005 to year 2009. By assessing their ledgers, this research could test the feasibility or the appropriateness of the published financial statement. Additionally, other methods which are time consuming are expelled from this research. These other methods may play an important role in the financial performance evaluation as well

This project discuss the performance of evaluating windowing based continuous S-Transform with deep learning classifier for detection and classifying interrupt and transient disturbances. The primary purpose was to analyse the detection and classification of voltage interrupt and transient using S-Transform (ST) as signal processing technique. The detection technique was divided into half-cycle and one- cycle windowing technique (WT), both cycle is used for the purpose of comparison. The disturbances signal was create using MATLAB programming language and set in form of m-file. S-Transform (ST) was used to extract the significant feature in a form of scattering data from disturbances signal. Then, the scattering data was used to build the detection interface inside the disturbances signal. The scattering data also was actual an input for extreme learning machine neural network (ELMNN) in order to classify the percentage accuracy of the disturbance signal. In addition, this analysis was verified that by using windowing technique of half-cycle and one-cycle it can provide clear detection in detecting the existent of disturbance within electrical distribution signal. Extreme learning machine was one of the suitable neural network to be used in classifying power quality disturbance due to its advantage in processing large dataset and able to produces high percentages accuracy. This project also includes 3 type of different sample for each disturbance which were interrupt and transient for the comparison purpose

The development of knowledge in the field of medicine in Malaysia in something that is well known. This occurs as the result of the development in science and technology that spread globally nowadays. This development also become the basis that spark many moral questions as well as Islamic jurisprudential issues, until the fiqh of medicine becomes among the subject of discussion and research interest to the Muslim intellectual today. Among these issues are the Advance Medical Directive (AMD). AMD is a legal document that was made by an individual to outline his wishes and preferences in regard to medical treatments and interventions in the event that he becomes terminally ill and unconscious. The AMD inflicted the question whether it is permissible or go against the sharia. So, this study was conducted using the qualitative approach to analyse the position of AMD from the perspective of maslahah. This study shows that AMD is permissible in the sharia but in some conditions it must refers to the maslahah perspective to execute or null any wishes and preferences that was made in the AMD

This report is attempted to know what is the most factors that influence retirement saving behaviour among employees in Majlis Bandaraya Melaka Bersejarah (MBMB). Background and current issues in MBMB was highlighted in order to give a better understanding on what was happen. The research was focus on retirement saving behaviour among MBMB’s employees and what were the most factors will influence them. Further, the research will know whether the financial risk, goal clarity or financial literacy that having the relationship to the retirement saving behaviour. The method use in this research is via questionnaire than been administered to employees in MBMB based on the convience sampling (non probability sampling). The employees come from this organization itself. Several mechanisms also have been suggested by the researcher in order to ensure that the saving behaviour can be maintained and benefited to the employees

Improved maximum distance on-demand routing algorithm routing protocol for vehicular ad hoc network network in an urban environment

    No full text
Vehicular ad hoc network (VANET) is a modern technology that has received great attention in the modern era due to daily road accidents. In VANET network it is difficult to design effective routing protocols due to the speed of movement of nodes and the rapid change in network architecture, and the purpose of routing protocols in the VANET network is to route data between vehicles (V2V), and between vehicles to infrastructure (V2I). Recently researchers have been interested in designing effective routing protocols for the VANET network because not all existing protocols are suitable for all traffic scenarios. Therefore, the focus of this paper will be on the maximum distance on-demand routing algorithm (MDORA) protocol and work on improving the protocol algorithm so that it is compatible with the urban environment. After that, the improved performance of the MDORA-without direction (MDORA-WD) protocol will be compared with the ad-hoc on-demand distance vector (AODV) protocol in terms of communication overhead, packet delivery ratio (PDR) and end to end (E2E) delay. The protocols will be simulated by MATLAB
