Palm fatty acid derived fabric softener / Muhamad Faizal Ahmad Fuad
Esterquat produced from tallow based fatty acid is one of the main ingredients of fabric softener used currently over the common distrearyl dimethyl ammonium compounds. This esterquat is also excellent in softening and neutralizing the fabric's surface static cling. However, there are three problems can be encountered which include the limitation of feedstock production, use of expensive catalyst, and use reactor system with high vacuum condition. The usage of distearyl dimethyl ammonium chloride gives excellent softening performance but have poor biodegradability. The purpose of this study is to produce palm fatty acid esterquat as an alternative to tallow based esterquat with substitution of chloride compounds in the esterquat structure to methosulphate compounds to become more environmental friendly fabric softener. The study involves the production of palm based esterquats and formulation of fabric softener. Esterquat synthesis is a two-step process; firstly, the distillate hydrogenated palm fatty acid is esterified with triethanolamine (TEA) to produce esteramine, and secondly, the esteramine is quaternized with dimethyl sulphate (DMS) to produce quaternized ester salt, which is termed as esterquat. In the reaction of esterification of palm fatty acid and TEA, the effectiveness of the catalyst is evaluated. The reaction was also carried out under slightly vacuum, nitrogen and argon blanket instead of high vacuum condition since catalyst is deactivated by the by-product water. The products are analyzed by using FT-IR, acid value, cationic matter of the active content. This synthesized esterquat are used for fabric softener formulation and tested using fabric softness evaluation by test panel scorin
Dividend quarter report announcement effect on stock price: case of 10 bluechips companies / Muhamad Faizal Onn
Nowadays, lots of people are joining the world of stock investments. This is due to the fact this kind of investment is safer and easier to predict as long as investors uses the correct indicator. Among the indicator that can be used to predict the stock price movement is by referring to the previous trend. However, investors now start to use other indicator as way to predict the stock price movement. One of them is by referring to the quarterly dividend announcements. Some investors believe that by referring to the quarterly announced dividend, they can predict the company performance and hence, the stock price movement. However, does it necessarily true that an increase in the quarterly dividend announced will cause the stock price to increase? Therefore, researcher aim to answer this question by using variables such as revenues, net profit, dividend, etc

Fabrication and characterization of jackfruit seed powder and polyvinyl alcohol blend as biodegradable plastic / Muhamad Faizal Haron
The biodegradable plastics was fabricated from jackfruit seed powder starch and
polyvinyl alcohol (PVA) blend in order to develop an environment friendly material
that can replace the petro-chemical plastics that widely use nowadays. In order to
ensure the bioplastic is reliable enough, several testing was conducted which to
identify the mechanical properties and biodegradability. Mechanical properties of
the bioplastic was analyzed by the tensile testing which shown that the increase in
amount of jackfruit seed powder starch will causing' the tensile strength of the
sample to decrease. Meanwhile for biodegradability of the bioplastics was
determined by Fourier Transform Infrared Spectroscopy shows that the samples
from week 0 to week 8 would have any changes in term of structural modification.
Thus it is proved that, the sample with high amount of jackfruit seed powder starch
have better biodegradability characteristic
Risk factors for low back pain among office workers and its preventive measure / Muhamad Faizal Mohd Zaini
This study was organized to recognize the risk factor of lower back pain (LBP) among
office workers and how to reduce their pain or avoid them from getting chronic low
back pain in the future. There are several factors that contribute to the lower back pain
among office workers such as prolonged sitting, age and unhealthy lifestyle. These
problems should be fixing because it can be a major contribution to the inefficiency in
workplace. The study was conduct in Temerloh district and the sample was from office
worker around Temerloh district which is male (N =15) and female (N =15) .Purpose of
the study is to identify the risk factors of low back pain among office workers and its
preventive measure. The Oswestry Low Back Pain Questionnaire was use to identify
the level of lower back disability among all subject. After that, subject was handling
with pre-test and post-test of sit and reach test to determine the effect of preventive
measure for six week. The result show there is significant different between pre-test and
post-test in flexibility of lower back after six week of preventive measure intervention.
The result for pre-test in sit and reach test is 26.83±4.63 and result for the post-test is
31.58±4.35

Investigation into the effect of structural change on oxygen sensing properties due to hot spot phenomena of Pr3+ substituted EuCBa^Pr^CusO™ (x = 0.00, 0.05, 0.25, and 0.40) ceramic rods. / Muhamad Faizal Othman
A hot spot which is a local area glowing orange appear in Eu(Bai.xPrx)2Cu307^ when a certain voltage is applied to the rod which heats up due to Joule's heating. The effect of structural change and hole concentration due to Pr3+ substitution based Eul23 were investigated. In this experiment, the Eu(Ba].xPrx)2Cu307^ (x = 0.00, 0.05, 0.25, and 0.40) ceramic samples were synthesized using conventional solid state method. The powder were prepared in stoichiometric ratio, mixed and ground. The powders were then calcined and press into pellets and sintered. The pellet was cut into rods that have dimensions of 13 mm x 0.65 mm x 0.65 mm. The structure changes from orthorhombic to pseudo-tetragonal at x = 0.25 and x = 0.40. The current through the rod decreased abruptly after the hot spot appeared with increasing voltage for samples x = 0.00 and x - 0.05. However, for the x - 0.25 sample showed constant current plateau with increasing voltage and displayed better stability and repeatability compared to x = 0.00 and 0.05 samples. In addition, all the samples show increased sensitiveness at lower p02 concentration for p02 between 20% to 100%. From the result, it is suggested that the structural changes from orthorhombic to tetragonal due to the Pr substitution in particular for sample x > 0.25 resulted in an improved oxygen sensing properties
