Review on lean principles for rapid construction
The general approach within lean construction is to make the construction process as it is normally undertaken on the construction site and leaner by reducing non-value generating activities. The reason on why the lean principles are used into rapid construction is to solve the chronicle and
congested activities within the time frame of the rapid construction projects. Five principles of lean
were made into comparison in the review of three case studies. In many applications of construction concept, the use of rapid construction method components significantly decreased the construction time required for the project. The most significant benefit has been seen in areas where systems have been using it repeatedly. The benefits from lean principles into rapid construction are the shorten of order fulfillment leading times, less project downtime, more innovation and true reduce the chronicle predecessor. This research has also identified eight critical factors of integrating lean with rapid construction that are proven successful which are planning it right, understanding the whole life construction cycle in non price factor view, utilize knowledge and expertise, integrate the team by working with the end to end supply chain in an integrated manner, understand the end to end process, measure performance to include reporting in your own performance, training and benchmarkin
Practicing lean in sustainable construction to achieve time reduction
Implementing new management philosophy in construction became an approach for construction players in achieving optimum output of the process. The practice of eliminating non-value added in the construction process flow is important in creating the elements of time reduction. Therefore, lean is the best approach as a management philosophy to be adopted in construction process flow because of the stabilizing and pulling factors towards construction time reduction. There are few cases being observed and non-value added activities being analysed accordingly to lean approach. From the questionnaire survey, factors of waiting, overproduction and double handling became the most prolongation of the construction time that contributes to delay. The analysis proof that leans has the factor of time reduction and contributes to rapid construction. The construction process flow became stable and the minimum cost being pulled in the construction cycle
Level of acceptance towards industrialised building system (IBS) in Malaysia
Construction practices towards conventional method is still being practiced widely even there were many researchers have done the studies on the inefficient of that method. On the other view, innovative construction had been the solution to improve the construction process flow. The need for innovation in construction industry is to enhance the efficiency for the success of project delivery. This could change the paradigm of norm construction practice which depends on conventional methods and a lot of non-value adding activities occur on that process flow. Industrialised Building System (IBS) is a method introduced to Malaysian construction players and it seem significance to the industry. This concept creates a new improvement for the successes of construction project by emerging techniques and materials in efficient way. This study shows the level of acceptance toward IBS concept comparing with conventional method. Interviews and questionnaires survey were done in getting data and analysed to get the factors relating time reduction, wastage and barriers of implementing it. Result shown the perception of construction players for IBS and it will provide to all parties the credits in choosing IBS concept for the project

Going Beyond Counting First Authors in Author Co-citation Analysis
The present study examines one of the fundamental aspects of author co-citation analysis (ACA) - the way co-citation
counts are defined. Co-citation counting provides the data on which all subsequent statistical analyses and mappings
are based, and we compare ACA results based on two different types of co-citation counting - the traditional type that
only counts the first one among a cited work's authors on the one hand and a non-traditional type that takes into
account the first 5 authors of a cited work on the other hand. Results indicate that the picture produced through this non-traditional author co-citation counting contains more coherent author groups and is therefore considerably clearer. However, this picture represents fewer specialties in the research field being studied than that produced through the traditional first-author co-citation counting when the same number of top-ranked authors is selected and analyzed. Reasons for these effects are discussed
