Simple and fast modelling of radio frequency passives in view of beyond-5G and 6G applications: case study of an RF-MEMS multi-state network described by an equivalent lumped element network
The utilization of RF-MEMS, which stands for Microsystem-based (MEMS) Radio Frequency (RF) passive components, is garnering growing attention within the realm of Beyond-5G (B5G) and 6G technologies, despite its longstanding existence. This trend is fueled by the impressive RF characteristics achievable through the judicious exploitation of this technology. However, the complex interplay of various physical phenomena in RF-MEMS, spanning mechanical, electrical, and electromagnetic domains, renders the design and optimization of new configurations challenging. In this study, a modeling approach based on Lumped Element Networks (LEN) is employed to accurately predict the Scattering Parameters (S-parameters) characteristics of multi-state and highly reconfigurable RF-MEMS devices. The device under scrutiny is a multi-state RF step power attenuator, previously fabricated, tested, and documented in literature by the principal author. Although these physical devices exhibit flat attenuation characteristics, they are subject to certain non-idealities inherent to the technology. The refined LEN-based methodology presented herein aims to interpret and incorporate such undesirable parasitic effects to provide precise predictions for real RF-MEMS devices. Two custom metrics, referred to as Percent Magnitude Difference (PMD) and Percent Phase Difference (PPD), are utilized to evaluate the accuracy of the LEN model, revealing differences consistently within 1 and 8%, respectively, across a frequency range spanning from 100 MHz to 13.5 GHz
Münzova teória poznania na pozadí kritiky marxistickej teórie odrazu v šesťdesiatych rokoch minulého storočia
The author of this paper clarifies some gnoseological views of Slovak philosopher Teodor Münz. He formulated his opinions on the background of critics of Marxist theory of reflection in the 1960s and he published them in a series of articles at that time. The author of the article highlights Münz's objections to this theory and arguments which point to non-dialectic understanding of practice as criterion of truth. She also reflects Münz´s understanding of development of knowledge, relations between truth and fault and other epistemological problems. These problems have been at the center of Münz's interest until now. AUTO-EVALUATION OF UNIVERSITY TEACHER AS A BASIS FOR QUALITY AND PROFESSIONALISM IN THE UNIVERSITY EDUCATION
The author of the submission studies some general patterns in the transformation processes and the processes of internationalization in the higher education, which started with the adoption of Bologna Declaration and the Lisbon Strategy. The author pointed out the quality and professionalism of higher education as well as the opportunities for improving its quality, which are currently the most pressing issues concerning a teaching profession. The results of the questionnaire survey, which was carried out in 2009, 2010 and 2011 and in which 114 future pre-primary and primary school teachers participated, form part of the university teacher’s auto evaluation. The auto evaluation is one of the elements that determine the improved quality of higher education and enhanced professional competencies of future pre-primary and primary school teachers. The aim of the survey was to gather opinions on the quality of higher education and on the educational needs of students in the field of Pre-school and elementary pedagogy. The survey became the starting point for solving of the research task1
Play activities for children in paediatric ward – a necessity or a standard?
The aim of this paper is to state answers to several sub questions which the author of this paper asks in the context of play activities in paediatric ward. The paper is based on the concept of humanized medical care; it is such care, which consists in the application of knowledge of developmental and clinical psychology in working with ill children. Part of this paper are also 3 educational plays/activities that can be used by a general as well as a children’s nurse.
Land Cover and Land Use in Slovakia within the LUCAS 2015 Pan-European Harmonized Survey
Projekt LUCAS pokrenut je na temelju odluke Europskog parlamenta i Vijeća Europske unije u svibnju 2000. Eurostat je 2001. godine pokrenuo pilot projekt LUCAS u bliskoj suradnji s Ravnateljstvom za poljoprivredu i tehničku podršku ruralnom razvoju Zajedničkog istraživačkog centra. Glavni je cilj projekta zajednička, usklađena izmjera poljoprivrednih podataka i podataka okoliša in situ primjenom dokumentacije GNSS-a i fotografija određenih, georeferenciranih točaka. Istraživanje je provedeno u Slovačkoj u razdoblju od tri godine s početkom 2006. godine. U 2009. provedena je procjena zemljišnoga pokrova i upotrebe zemljišta. U radu se opisuje postupak pripreme, osiguravanja, vođenja i upravljanja istraživanjem zemljišnog pokrova i upotrebe zemljišta u Slovačkoj. Izmjera je pokrenuta 2012. godine. Osnova klasifikacije sastoji se od osam glavnih klasa zemljišnog pokrova i upotrebe zemljišta koje se dijele u detaljnije klase. Rezultat istraživanja je strukturirana baza slika i digitalnih zapisa za 2455 odabranih točaka. Najveća kartirana klasa je šumsko zemljište. Stabilizacija sheme uzorkovanja omogućila je izradu vremenskih nizova za nadzor promjene zemljišnog pokrova na odabranim tipovima zemljišnog pokrova.The LUCAS project was launched following a decision by the European Parliament and Council of the European Union in May 2000. Eurostat started the LUCAS pilot project in close cooperation with the technical support of the Directorate General for Agriculture and Rural Development’s Joint Research Centre in 2001. The main aim of the project is to provide a common, aligned, in situ overview of agricultural and environmental data, using GNSS and photo documentation for specific, georeferenced points. Research was carried out in Slovakia over a three-year period, starting in 2006. In 2009, an evaluation of land cover/use was carried out. This article presents the process of preparing, securing, conducting and researching the management of land cover and land use in Slovakia. The survey was launched in 2012. The classification base consists of eight categories of land cover and land use, which are broken down into more detail. The result is a structured database of images and digital records for 2,455 selected points. The largest class mapped is forestland. The stabilization of the sampling scheme allowed the construction of a time series for monitoring land cover changes for selected types
Caring for an Dependent Member in the Context of Family Life Cycle Stages
Bakalářská práce je zaměřena na problematiku péče o závislého člena. Autorka se zaměřuje na péči o seniory v domácím prostředí. Práce je rozdělena na teoretickou a praktickou část. V teoretické části jsou vymezeny pojmy, jako je stárnutí, rodina a péče o seniory, zátěž pečovatele a podpora pečujících. Praktická část je realizována kvantitativní metodou pomocí dotazníkového šetření. Cílem je zjistit, jak se pečující osoby sžily s tím, že se dostali do situace, kdy musí pečovat o závislého člena.The bachelor thesis is focused on the issue of caring for a dependent member. The author focuses on a care of the elderly at a home enviroment. The thesis is divided into the theoretical and practical part. The theoretical part defines terms such as aging, family and care of the elderly, a burden of the caregiver and a support for caregivers. The practical part is based on a quantitative method using a quantitative research. The aim of the thesis is to find out how caregivers had to deal with being responsible for taking care of dependent member.Ústav zdravotnických vě
The impact of the society on the communication in the family.
Bakalářská práce se zabývá vlivem společnosti na komunikaci v rodině, rodinných vztahů i vztahů k ostatním lidem. Komunikace je záklandím výchovným prostředkem nejen v rodině, který může být narušen různými vlivy. Mohou to být prvky vnějšího prostředí, tak i mnoha nejrůznějších faktorů zakódovanými uvnitř rodiny. Práce se zabývá vlivy společnosti, které se nejvíce týkají dětí základní školy - masové komunikační prostředky, venkovské a městské prostředí, vrstevnická skupina a škola. Rodině se v bakalářské práci autorka věnuje z pohledu komunikace mezi jejími členy navzájem. Dále se pokusila vymezit efektivní komunikaci i příčiny neefektivní komunikace v rodině.This thesis deals with the society influence on family's communication, family's relations and relations with other people. Communication is an essential educational tool not only for the family that may be affected by various influences. They could be elements of an external environment as well as many different factors encoded in the family itself. This work deals with the society influences which are most relevant to the children of elementary schools - mass communication means, rural and urban environments, peer groups and schools. The author of this thesis deals with the family in terms of communication between its members themselves and attempts to specify the effective communication as well as the causes of inefficient communication within the family.Katedra pedagogikyobhájen
