Jedno od tih svedočanstava predstavlja priča "Sjećanja Morica Romana".Within the framework of numerous manifestations and commemorations marking the thirtieth anniversary of Yugoslavia's entry into the Second World War and the national uprisings against fascist invaders in 1971, the desire of former inmates, Jews who survived the horrors of one of the most notorious camps - Jasenovac, to be revealed their memories of the difficult days of camp life; their hard days, and the last days of many members of their families as well as numerous victims of other nations: Serbs, Croats, and Roma. Dr. Moric Levi, Senior rabbi of Sarajevo
The ambiance where Dr. Moric Levi was born, grow up and lived was patriarchal. Most of the people were very poor. Dr. Moric Levi, naturally sensitive and clever, deeply felt these difficult and touching scenes and the drama of this world. He monitored the poverty of his midst and thought with incredible persistence what could and should be done to improve this situation as quickly as possible. He believed that children should be sent to schools as much as possible and that many life problems would be solved through education. He had very few associates in the job. The conservative and primitive environment has resisted any introduction of new and modern reforms. The work he devoted to all his life was not only very difficult but also unthankful. Persistent and durable, he does not quit his job halfway. With a lot of tact, he approaches his opponents, spreads and preaches advanced thoughts. At that crucial time, he played a decisive role in the life of the community, which went from traditional to modern.Str. 23 slika dr Morica Levija
Jews of Bihać in the period 1941-1945
There were 146 Jews living in Bihać - 37 families and 5 singles. This number also includes 10 Bihać Jews who lived outside Bihać just before the Second World War and had their families in Bihać. They lived in all parts of the city mixed with the rest of the population. They all had acquaintances and friends outside of Jewish families, and the younger generation, especially the youth, was involved in the overall social life of the city. They had Jewish institutions - a religious community and a temple ...Šapirografisano (shapirographed copy)
