Photographs of two pages in the book "Lazy B" written by Sandra Day O'Connor and her brother H. Alan Day. On the first page is a photograph of Sue Pirtle, Kay Bailey Hutchison, and Lory Masters standing together. Their signatures are below the taped in picture and a note at the top reads "5/24/02 w/ Pitle; At the Grand Opening of "National Cowgirl Hall of Fame"". On the title page of the book is the autograph from the author Sandra Day O'Connor, along with another photograph of Sue Pitle, Sandra Day O'Connor, and Lory Masters

In this article, the author outlines medieval thought on the place and role of university masters of theology in society and the Church, as well as its reception in the Krakow university in the 15th century. In particular, he discusses the views on this subject in the writings of Bartłomiej of Jasło, Stanisław of Skarbimierz and Jan Elgot. Next, he describes a group of more than 70 professors of theology at the University of Krakow in the 15th century, as well as their geographical and social origins, as well as religious affiliations. The author discusses the work of the few professors of theology who held prominent offices and titles in the Polish Church. He shows a group of scholars who cooperated with the Bishop of Krakow Zbigniew Oleśnicki in combating Hussitism and in matters related to the Council of Basel. He stresses that they exerted considerable influence on the Polish episcopate, most of which sided with the Council of Basel, while Tomasz Strzępiński’s treatise Determinatio Basiliensis was hailed in Basel as the best interpetation of the conciliarist doctrine. Krakow theology professors influenced society through sermons, as well as pastoral and moral works for the clergy to use in pastoral work in their parishes.W niniejszym artykule autor naszkicował średniowieczną myśl dotyczącą miejsca i roli uniwersyteckich mistrzów teologii w społeczeństwie oraz Kościele, a także ich recepcję w krakowskim środowisku uniwersyteckim w XV w.

Using 2-Ovoids to Generate Tight Sets In W(Q)

A generalized quadrangle is a type of geometry that contains within it no triangles. In particular, we will be considering these structures in the finite case. In this thesis, we focus on a particular generalized quadrangle W(q). We use ovoids in PG(3,q) to construct a tight set in W(q) for q odd consisting of exactly half of the points of W(q). We then use this tight set to find previously unknown tight sets within W(q) for q = 5,7. Through this process, we use tools from geometry, algebra, graph theory, and we also make ample use of computer software to create and observe these tight sets. This field of study marries together a veritable plethora of mathematical fields that are not often brought together

Organising Chemical Reaction Networks in Space and Time with Microfluidics

Information processing is essential for any lifeform to maintain its organisation despite continuous entropic disturbance. Macromolecules provide the ubiquitous underlying substrate on which nature implements information processing and have also come into focus for technical applications. There are two distinct approaches to the use of molecules for computing. Molecules can be employed to mimic the logic switches of conventional computers or they can be used in a way that exploits the complex functionality offered by a molecular computing substrate. Prerequisite to the latter is a mapping of the versatile means to achieve this. In the present paper we review microfluidic technology as a versatile means to achieve this, show how we use it, and provide proven recipes for its application

The aim of the article is to provide the answer to the question concerning the Russian teaching staff and its nationality in Lublin Seconday School. The author of the article discusses the stages of the teaching carteer of Russian teachers. According to the law established in 1833, after the fall of November uprising, the school authorities introduced the Russian language to the Polish school. In 1832–1864 Russian was taught by 22 teachers in Lublin Secondary School. Among them there were three Russian head-masters. Russian was also taught by teachers of other nationalities including Polish, Ukrainian, Lithuanian and Georgian. The first Russian, who taught his native language in Lublin in 1834–1836 was professor Jan Aleksandrowski. He had taught in Krzemieniec before. He started teaching there in 1807 and was considered to be an exceptionally amiable and competent teacher by schoolboys who did not pay attention to russification.Artykuł nie zawiera abstraktu w języku polski

This paper explores the challenges facing supervisors of international postgraduate students at the dissertation stage of the masters programme. The central problems of time pressure, language difficulties, a lack of critical analysis and a prevalence of personal problems among international students are discussed. This paper makes recommendations for the improvement of language and critical thinking skills, and questions the future policy of language requirements at HE for international Masters students

Le Corbusier tworzący w XX wieku, a także Zaha Hadid projektująca w XXI wieku, to doskonałe przykłady architektów prezentujących projekt architektoniczny poprzez szkic w procesie twórczym.Architectural Drawing has always been the domain of architects craft, allowing for flexibility in design creativity. Sketch allows the architect to submit ideas on paper in the form of planning, in a way to understand this idea in its final effect which is the architectural design. The content, as well as the author thought it is therefore completely disclosed by subsequent concepts. Le Corbusier forming in the twenty century, Zaha Hadid and the designer of the twenty-first century, are a perfect example of the presentation of architectural design, with a drawing in the creative process
