Análise económica da intervenção em fisioterapia na reabilitação da artroplastia total do joelho: sword phoenix versus intervenção no domicílio
Get PDFArtroplastia total do joelho está indicada em casos severos de osteoartrose, permitindo o alívio da dor, melhorar a funcionalidade, o equilíbrio e a qualidade de vida. A fisioterapia é recomendada na recuperação pós cirúrgica para maximização dos resultados. Para colmatar lacunas de acesso à fisioterapia, e como resultado da evolução das tecnologias em saúde surgiu um sistema de reabilitação à distância controlado por fisioterapeutas, SWORD Phoenix. Este trabalho pretende realizar uma análise custo-efetividade, comparando custos e benefícios da fisioterapia na reabilitação da artroplastia total do joelho no domicílio face à intervenção com o sistema. A amostra foi dividida em dois grupos, tendo em conta os objetivos delineados: grupo SWORD e grupo de controlo. Ambos os grupos receberam reabilitação imediatamente após a cirurgia durante 8 semanas com avaliação pré cirúrgica, no momento da alta, após 4 e 8 semanas. O grupo SWORD realizou pelo menos 1 sessão por dia, e o grupo controlo recebeu 3 sessões por semana. Os utentes foram avaliados por questionário no âmbito da funcionalidade, qualidade de vida e dor, teste de risco de quedas e pelo sistema SWORD Phoenix ao nível das amplitudes articulares do joelho no movimento de flexão em deitado, sentado, em pé e da extensão em sentado. Os custos foram calculados com base nas referências bibliográficas e na realidade da intervenção em fisioterapia. O grupo SWORD às 8 semanas apresenta melhores resultados em todas as variáveis em estudo, como maior amplitude de movimento, menor risco de queda, melhor funcionalidade, menos dor e sintomas e melhor qualidade de vida. As diferenças entre grupos na última avaliação são estatisticamente significativas em todas as variáveis. O custo da reabilitação com SWORD Phoenix é inferior ao custo da intervenção em fisioterapia no domicílio. Conclui-se que a reabilitação por SWORD Phoenix é clinicamente mais benéfica e com menos custos.Total knee arthroplasty is indicated in severe cases of osteoarthritis to reduce pain, increase function and quality of life. Physical therapy is recommended to maximize outcomes after surgery, To overcome limitations in terms of access to rehabilitation services, and in result of the evolution in health-related technologies, a novel telerehabilitation system was developed, SWORD Phoenix. This work aims to perform a cost-effectiveness analysis, comparing the costs and the benefits of conventional home-based physical therapy after total knee replacement against rehabilitation performed with SWORD Phoenix. The sample was divided into two groups, taking into account the objectives outlined: SWORD group and control group. Both groups performed an 8-week home-based rehabilitation program starting immediately after surgery with evaluation at discharge, after 4 and 8 weeks. The SWORD group was instructed to perform at least one session per day; the control group received three face-to-face sessions. Patients were assessed through a questionnaire on function, pain, symptoms and quality of life, through a risk of falls test, and also measurement of knee range of motion (by SWORD Phoenix) in the following movements: knee flexion (lying, sitting, standing) and knee extension (sitting). Costs were calculated through investigation and bibliographical references. At the 8 week assessment, the SWORD group presents better results in all outcome measures, range of motion, risk of falls, function, pain, symptoms and quality of life. The diferences are statystically significant for all variables. The cost of rehabiliation with SWORD Phoenix is inferior to the cost of conventional home-based physical therapy. This study demonstrates that rehabiliattion with SWORD Phoenix is both more effective and less expensive than conventional home-based physical therapy
Going Beyond Counting First Authors in Author Co-citation Analysis

counts are defined. Co-citation counting provides the data on which all subsequent statistical analyses and mappings
are based, and we compare ACA results based on two different types of co-citation counting - the traditional type that
only counts the first one among a cited work's authors on the one hand and a non-traditional type that takes into
account the first 5 authors of a cited work on the other hand. Results indicate that the picture produced through this non-traditional author co-citation counting contains more coherent author groups and is therefore considerably clearer. However, this picture represents fewer specialties in the research field being studied than that produced through the traditional first-author co-citation counting when the same number of top-ranked authors is selected and analyzed. Get PDF“Variations on the Author” discusses two of Eduardo Coutinho’s recent films (Um Dia na Vida, from 2010, and Últimas Conversas, posthumously released in 2015) and their contribution to the general question of documentary authorship. The director’s filmography is characterized by a consistent yet self-effacing form of authorial self-inscription: Coutinho often features as an interviewer that rather than express opinions propels discourses; an interviewer that is good at listening. This mode of self-inscription characterizes him as an author who is not expressive but who is nonetheless markedly present on the screen. In Um Dia na Vida, however, Coutinho is completely absent form the image, while Últimas Conversas, on the contrary, includes a confessional prologue that moves the director from the margins to the center of his films. This article examines the ways in which these works stand out in the filmography of a director who offers new insights into the notion of cinematic authorship
Appropriate Similarity Measures for Author Cocitation Analysis
Get PDFWe provide a number of new insights into the methodological discussion about author cocitation analysis. We first argue that the use of the Pearson correlation for measuring the similarity between authors’ cocitation profiles is not very satisfactory. We then discuss what kind of similarity measures may be used as an alternative to the Pearson correlation. We consider three similarity measures in particular. One is the well-known cosine. The other two similarity measures have not been used before in the bibliometric literature. Note that the objective for the hut study was to evaluate the IRS treatment applications for residual efficacy against Anopheles mosquitoes, including the local An. coluzzii mosquito population. Cows were only used to attract mosquitoes into the huts and no tests were carried out directly on the cows. The author checklist is intended for use with studies where experiments are carried out on animals, which is why we have had such difficulty in completing this for the hut study, as many of the questions do not relate to how the cows were used
