Development of a prototype motorised sieving machine / Mohammad Hariz Azmi
Materials such as sand is one of the important materials needed, especially in agriculture activities. Throughout the era of globalization, there have been machines that happen to sieve sand to acquire a higher percentage of sand, rather than a mixture of sand and stones but these machines have only been marketed for industrial use. Therefore, this project has targeted to build home friendly machine with the mutual purpose, as well as providing ergonomics when operating the machine. Therefore, a morphological chart and a pugh chart is analysed to acquire the final design of this project. Based on the results made within the research made for this project, it is expected for the machine to perform below the industrial standards, but able to achieve its purpose. It can also be concluded that this project will be a success as the machine serves its purpose, which is to sieve sand from stone

Phytochemical screening and antibacterial activities of Dioscorea hispida (Dennst.) against wound pathogen / Mohammad Azri Azmi
Dioscorea hispida (Dennst.) tuber is a species of edible yam. It needs special preparation technique for the yam to be safely consumed. The yam bulb paste is used to treat minor wound by people of Satpuda Hill, India. In this study, the phytochemical screening of the D. hispida before and after treatment was carried out to determine the phytochemical compound and the impact of treatment toward the phytochemical compound. This study also was aimed to determine the antibacterial activities of the treated and untreated D. hispida tuber extract against wound pathogen, namely Serratia marcescens (ATCC 14756) and Pseudomonas aeruginosa (ATCC 10145). The treatment is carried out by rinsing the tuber cutlets in running water for 7 days in accordance to the traditional method. This study discover that the tuber of D. hispida contains carbohydrate, alkaloid, phenols, steroid, tannins and terpenoids. The treatment process was found to eliminate the content of alkaloid, phenols, tannins and terpenoid. From the disc diffusion test on the treated and untreated D. hispida tuber extract, it is found that the tuber is ineffective in inhibiting growth of wound pathogen, the S. marcescens and P. aeruginosa
Thermo osmotic effect of electrospun pvdf membrane / Mohammad Amierza Ikhmar Azmi
The effect of thermo osmosis is critical to the osmosis based
renewable energy harvesting. Using this technique the fluid is for cedinto another reservoir by using the osmosis effect, temperature gradient and pressure exerted to produce energy. In this study, we using the osmosis effect enhance by the temperature gradient to study the dynamics of fluid across the membranes for heat
harvesting energy with different porosity. The materials that have been used to create the membranes are polyvinylidene fluoride (PYDF) because it has high thermal resistivity, high chemical resistance and good mechanical properties. Electrospinning machine was used to create the membranes with different porosity needed. The previous study show electrospinning machine will creates a beta
phase of PVDF electro spun. From the experiment, sample of 10V
shows higher efficiency in the dynamic of fluid pass through the
membrane which is 0.009 m3 change in volume with 1.9485x10-5 N
of the osmotic pressure. This is because the formation of beads a less
compared to 14V and 18V where beads almost in every topology of
membranes. The formation of fibers in the samples of 10Y, 14V and
18Y are well distributed by using electrospinning machine and we
can see the porosity increased as the voltage increase
Land use planning by using ArcGIS software: a case study / Mohammad Anas Azmi
Land used planning is a land where it has been used to develop a vegetative area for the economics and social environment. The purpose of using Precision Agriculture was to give benefit for developing the land used planning efficiently by saving the time and operational cost. The purpose of this study is to design the land used that has been identified for development of double stage nursery consists of pre-nursery and main nursery. ArcGIS Software 10.3 has been used in this procedure. This study was conducted at Jasin, Melaka. There are five different designs mapped in the ArcGIS to show the nursery area for pre-nursery, main nursery, road, drainage, store, hut and engine pump water. Then, using ArcGIS features, each area was calculated to estimate the number of polybag needed for each designed. Each designed was evaluated according to the criteria identified in term of the area involved, road accessibility, security, shaped of sub-block division and drainage and irrigation system. Comparison was made between each of the designs based on the score from the weightage value. The designed with highest score was chosen to be applied in the field. In conclusion, technological advancement such as ArcGIS makes farmer’s lives much easier as it can map their field and monitor the production. Thus, Precision Agriculture can be recommended as a better alternative than the existing traditional method
PERENCANAAN SISTEM DRAINASE SEBAGAI UPAYA PENANGGULANGAN BENCANA BANJIR DI LIMBANGAN KULON KECAMATAN BREBES KABUPATEN BREBES
Mohammad Azmi Nudin, 2024. Analysis of Drainage System Planning as an effort to overcome flood disasters in Limbangan Kulon, Brebes District, Brebes Regency. Civil Engineering thesis report, Faculty of Engineering, Pancasakti University, Tegal, 2024.
Flooding is a condition in which an area is inundated by large amounts of water. Floods are caused by high rainfall, causing flooding. Poor drainage capacity can lead to flooding. In densely populated urban areas, wastewater cannot be treated separately and drainage is inadequate. Because of this, the sewers are clogged with garbage and soil debris.
The method used in this study is the descriptive method. The data needed are rainfall data, land use data and population data. The rainfall data used is a comparison of monthly maximum rainfall data from Limbangan Kulon station and other stations. After analyzing rainfall data using the Log Pearson III and Gumbel methods, the Chi-Squared Test was performed to select an acceptable statistical distribution. It then applies rainfall data to rainfall intensity using the mononobe method. Rain intensity is useful for calculating peak runoff using rational methods. Based on the analysis, an evaluation will be carried out in the form of an analysis of the drainage volume of each drainage channel in Limbangan Kulon District. Such as Jalan Mangun Sakoro I, Jalan Mangun Sarkoro II, Jalan Mangun Sarkoro III, Jalan Mangun Sarkoro IV and Jalan Mangun Sarkoro V.

Development of AISI 316LVM austenitic stainless steel hybrid S phase layer for medical application / Mohammad Firdaus Mohammed Azmi
Attempts to improve the surface hardness and wear resistance of austenitic stainless steels using surface treatments in the past have resulted in corrosion resistance degradation due to chromium precipitation in the hardened layer. In this study, systematic gas diffusion thermochemical treatments and characterisation were performed on medical grade austenitic stainless steel AISI 316LVM (Sandvik Bioline) in order to establish the optimised treatment conditions (temperature, time and gas composition) which can maximise the austenitic stainless steel performance without sacrificing corrosion resistance. The hybrid S phase layer was systematically characterized by microscopy investigation, microhardness, phase analysis, potentiodynamics, pin on disk test, nanoindentation and nanoscratch according to each testing standards. According to the DOE optimisation results, the ideal treatment parameters for the low temperature hybrid heat treatment were when the temperature was set at 475 °C for 12 hours of holding time. The optimum gas composition was when methane, ammonia and nitrogen simultaneously introduced at 10 %, 80 % and 10 % respectively. The nitrogen and carbon element dissolved in the austenitic lattice forming an interstitial supersaturated solid solution called the hybrid S phase layer. From the microscopy result, up to 13.3 μm hybrid S phase layer thickness was developed. The characterization results found the hybrid S phase layer able to significantly increase the bulk material surface hardness up to 1461 HV0.025, the wear resistance where about three times improvement and the corrosion resistance compared to the untreated material. The nano-tribological behaviour of the hybrid S phase layer shows improved the wear resistance coefficient and decreased the coefficient of friction. In addition, it has good cohesion where no evidence of delamination when the samples are nanoscratched vertically up to 50 mN and it is a noteworthy discovery for the biological field. The biocompatibility studies on the hybrid S phase found that they are biocompatible under the cytotoxicity (ISO 10993-5) and cell adhesion (ASTM F813-20) tests conducted. Therefore, the use of hybrid S phase as surface modification process on medical grade austenitic stainless steel might be suitable in biomedical applications
