As in modern day now, innovation and creativity among employee in any organization is important for the organization to achieve the goals that been set up. It can be one of the core competitive advantages for some organization than their competitors. In this research, the researcher choose to identify the employee innovation and creativity level in Sime Darby Auto Connexion Sdn. Bhd. In 3 of their subsidiary company which is Ford, Hertz and Land Rover that located in Petaling Jaya, Selangor. The Leadership, organization and employee behaviour are the factors that the researcher emphasized in this research. The other objective of this research is to find out what are the relationship those 3 factors with employee innovation and creativity level and which one between those 3 factors that most significant to employee innovation and creativity level in Sime Darby Auto Connexion Sdn. Bhd. This research has been conducted on 50 respondents from Sime Darby Auto Connexion Sdn. Bhd. employees to be sample of this research. The finding of this research indicates employee behaviour as the most factors that significant to employee innovatin and creativity level in this organization. This will help the employee in this organization more aware on the main factor of the employee innovation and creativity level and it will help them to increase their innovation and creativity level thus will help organization to achieve their goals. Future study should focus on the similar study but with different factors to any organization in any industry. By doing this, we can get a clearer picture on the employee innovation and creativity level that occurred in many organization in this modern day

Nowadays, there are many technologies that have been created to make life being more beneficial and practical. Because of that, this useful device which is called “Mini Hydro Generator” is created. This device technology is included in home, category, but it also can be used in industry. Electrical energy from water turbine is a project about to generate electrical energy from the hydro energy. This project is using DC motor to generate an electrical energy. The DC motor will convert from water energy to electrical energy. After that, the energy will attach to the circuit charger and charge the battery. The electrical energy that store in the battery will connect with circuit alarm. These days, uncontrolled electricity usages in daily life become a common issue for the communities. So, the usage of energy must be used smartly because it is limited. Moreover, the device used to store energy from renewable sources is too expensive and the less fortunate cannot afford it. Next, the rate of theft among residential area is increasing. The purpose of this project is to create an alarm system that powered up by generator from water to reduce the electricity bill and to reduce the uncontrollable electricity usage. In addition, this project is to create water turbine using a stainless steel spoon to generate kinetic energy from the rotor part of the turbine. Besides, this project can create a battery charger to charge the 12V sealed lead acid battery to supply the security alarm circuit. As a conclusion, hopefully this project could be one of the technologies that useful for the people

Protocolized eye care prevents corneal complications in ventilated patients in a medical intensive care unit

    No full text
Background: Eye care is an essential component in the management of critically ill patients. Standardized eye care can prevent corneal complications in ventilated patients. Objective: This study was designed to compare old and new practices of corneal care for reduction in corneal complications in ventilated patients. Methods: This study was done in three phases each of six month duration. Phase 1 was the ongoing practice of eye care in the unit. Before the start of phase 2, a new protocol was made for eye care. Corneal complications were observed in terms of haziness, dryness, and ulceration. All nursing staffs were educated and made compliant with the new protocol. In phase 2, a follow-up audit was done to check the effectiveness and compliance to protocol. In phase 3, a follow-up audit was started 3 months after phase 2. Results: In phase 1, total ventilated patients were 40 with 240 ventilator days. The corneal dryness rate was 40 per 1000 ventilator days while the haziness and ulceration rate was 16 per 1000 ventilator days each. In the second phase 2, total ventilated patients were 53 making 561 ventilator days. The rate of corneal haziness and dryness was 3.52 and 1.78 per 1000 ventilator days, respectively, with no case of corneal ulceration. In phase 3, the number of ventilated patients was 91 with 1114 ventilator days. The corneal dryness rate was 2.69 while the haziness and ulceration rate was 1.79 each. Conclusion: Protocolized eye care can reduce the risk of corneal complications in ventilated patients

    Cognitive Procedures and Hyperbolic Discounting

"Hyperbolic discount functions are characterized by a relatively high discount rate over short horizons and a relatively low discount rate over long horizons" (Laibson 1997).We suggest two cognitive procedures where individuals perceive future utility as decreasing at a decreasing rate as a function of time.Such a perception is similar to hyperbolic discounting. The first procedure shows that individuals hyperbolically discount marginal utility from money when they follow a cognitive procedure in which they believe that their wealth might increase or decrease in each future period under the constraint of a perceived small probability that wealth will decrease below its current level. The second procedure shows that individuals hyperbolically discount expected utility from consumption when they believe that they will rationalize their actions and thus alter their utility function over time. The difference in how perceived utility changes over the short and long horizon generates the hyperbolic discounting phenomenon. We find that greater tendencies toward rationalization and greater volatility in consumption increase the hyperbolic discounting phenomenon. Although hyperbolic disc ounting is usually regarded as impulsive and irrational, Azfar (1999) and this author suggest that hyperbolic discounting may be rational in some cases.cognitive process;preferences;bias;rationality;marginalism

This thesis report is submitted in partial fulfillment of the requirements for the degree of Bachelor of Science in Electrical and Electronic Engineering, 2016.Cataloged from PDF version of thesis report.Includes bibliographical references (page 58-64).In this study, we found thermoelectric figure of merit (ZT) at different room temperatures which performed better than conventional temperature. From a transition metal dichalcogenide material MoS2 we got the highest ZT value of 4.392 at 300K. Besides this, in metal oxide such as ZnO gives the highest ZT value of 1.7108 at 310K. We have also studied Si-n Type, Si-p Type and SiGe which gives the value of ZT 2.405, 2.850 and 2.320 respectively at 300K.This study represents a bona fide study of thermoelectric materials accompanied by the modeling and simulations of an asymmetric thermoelectric device structure. The thermoelectric module will possess attributes such as a novel module design and a room temperature range rather than conventional high temperature modules. Electro-thermal interaction is commonly considered only as a matter of Joule heating. In addition, the Seebeck, Peltier and Thomson effects are significant in materials with high thermoelectric figure of merit ZT. The materials that are currently being used by researchers in thermoelectric devices are semiconductors and metal-oxides. These materials include Sb2Te3, PbTe, Bi2Te3, (BiSb)2Te3, SiGe, Si; which are specifically developed for conventional and high temperature ranges. And from our study we have already said that there is another class of materials that are metal dichalcogenides(MoS2) which have a good figure of merit(ZT) at room temperature. A high Seebeck coefficient , a good electric conductivity and a poor thermal conductivity are the characteristics of these materials. As a result, thermal and electrical performance of the thermoelectric module which represents a good electrical performance in thermoelectric generator.Mohammad Mobassar HossainMd.
