Modelling the characteristics of a 6/4 Switched Reluctance Motor using neural network / Mohamed Azmi Mohamed Razali
Switched Reluctance Motor (SRM) are almost always operated within the saturation region and therefore has a very large operation region. This yields very strong nonlinearities, which makes it difficult to derive a comprehensive mathematical model for the behaviour of the machine. Neural Networks can be used to overcome such problems. This paper presents Neural Networks as a tool to model the characteristics of the motor. The flux-linkage versus current relationship as a function of rotor position for a 6/4 SRM was modelled using Neura
Comparison of anthropometric data of 18-25 age (IPT Students) with 18-25 age (NON Students) / Mohamed Azmi Mohamed Ripin
Nowadays, industrial have faced the lacks of anthropometric data for making furniture. Anthropometry can be defined as a study of a human body dimension. Anthropometric data is used in designing area of clothing design, workspace design, environment design, design of equipment, tools, and machinery, and also in designing consumer product design. Anthropometry data is used in application to design something that will give comfortable to people with their working space to prevent danger, damages, and any unnecessary activity. The objective of this study is to gather the data of human body measurement as a collection for local anthropometric data for industrial to making furniture based on the anthropometric measurement. The measurement of human body was gather from UITM student and has been compare with non-student, that are working around Bandar Tun Abdul Razak Jengka region. As a conclusion, from the collecting data from my respondent, we can gather new data for anthropometric measurement for industrial furniture making. The ranges between the two variables are not very different, only small standard deviation is being gain from the result has been analyzed
Program pemprosesan data / Zulkarnain Abd.
Non-contact approach of roundness inspection for machined parts / Azmi Mohamed
The geometrical tolerance verification of machined part is a process composed of a set of inspection procedures and rules that are complex, tedious and slow. The methods and instruments used to inspect geometrical tolerance of the parts are quite conventional and require a high skill and knowledge to assess the quality of the machined parts. For this reason, this research develop a method to effectively perform the inspection process by recommending non-contact approach using machine vision and new simple mathematical models that can be used for the creation of an inspection system to assist in the verification of an important form tolerance of machined parts. The main goal of this research is to develop method and procedure of roundness measurement that are simple to implement but at the same time is fast and effective to provide reliable technique that help the metrologist to make evaluation for the inspected parts. Two samples of cylindrical machined parts are selected to be measured by this non-contact approach. A test-rig set-up which consists of main components such as workholding fixture, CCD camera, lighting device and motor was developed in order to carry out this study. This research proposes new procedure in image processing by using WiT software. In addition, a new mathematical model for evaluation of roundness error is proposed according to the analogy given by Minimum Zone Circle (MZC) method. The proposed approach and mathematical models were analyzed using several set of number of part images. The results showed that the noncontact inspection system for roundness error were effective and reliable enough to assess this form tolerance. This concept of measurement can be further improved to obtain better accuracy of the roundness error assessment. In summary, this research suggests a new method for geometrical tolerance inspection for machined parts by using machine vision. This system provides flexibility in term of the inspection set-up and is potentially applied for in-line and hundred percent (100%) inspection of the cylindrical machined parts

Assessing consumer behavior from a main website of tourism product / Mazturina Mohamed Razak @ Azmi
Websites have been used as one of the main promotional items in marketing most of tourism products. This encourage governments all over the world to use websites as one of their marketing tools, and to have one to represent a national tourism product would be costly, nonetheless how effective is it compared to other non-official websites remains to be investigated. Therefore by using the Technology Acceptance Model (TAM) model, this study is to examine consumer’s perceived ease of use and perceived usefulness of a website in determining customers’ intention in visiting a tourism attraction. Two original criteria of TAM model was used in this study; future research utilizing an extended TAM to assess the user acceptance. Past researches have proven that the internet is an important influence on consumers’ behavior. The government’s website on homestay is the context of this study and a quantitative approach through distributing structured questionnaires were adopted. Questionnaires were distributed to about 400 participants that are visiting homestays in Selangor. Descriptive statistics and correlation test are used to analyze the data. This research will offer a better understanding on the effectiveness of the website in influencing tourists’ behavior towards a tourism product. Findings clearly revealed that TAM attributes in particular positively influenced consumers’ visit intention. Among these, perceived usefulness variable were to be the prime influencer compared to perceived usefulness of the website
