O acervo fotográfico da reitoria da Ufes: informação, memória e patrimônio documental
No full textThis study investigates the role of photograph collections from the UFES rectory's office in maintaining institutional memory. Starting from the question about the photographic document and its relationship with the mechanisms of memory, the work investigates the photograph present in the university archive as a document and as a source of information, fundamental for historical reconstruction. The investigative path begins with a literature review, addressing the main studies that address university archives and their intersection with institutional memory, discussing the issue of photographic documents in contemporary times, while associating the formation of the photographic collection with the history of UFES. Then, a case study is used, aiming to make a diagnosis of the conditions of production, storage, access, and use of photographs produced during the rectors' activities. Weaving a narrative of the institutional historical trajectory and analyzing the different contexts of photography production, it identifies the sectors linked to the institution's central administration, mapping their photographic collections, to bring together the entire collection of photographs originating from the activities of the rectory's office. Its general objective is to highlight the importance of the UFES - Campus Goiabeiras photographic collection as a source of information for the maintenance of its institutional memory. The specific objectives are: Verify in the literature aspects of photography as a document and its intersection with institutional memory; Identify sectors directly linked to the central administration of UFES on the Goiabeiras Campus that have photographic collections, mapping the places that produce and archive these collections; Characterize how this collection has been formed and what this collection is composed of; Reflect the UFES photographic collection from the perspective of documentary heritage; Highlight the importance of photography for the preservation of institutional memory. Furthermore, it discusses the patrimonialization of photographic documentary collections and access to information as a cultural right. The results of the study reveal that the collection of photographs in the rectory's office documents the most significant events at the university, constituting relevant value for reconstituting history and maintaining institutional memory. It also presents as a result, the growing increase in the use of photography as a resource for recording the activities of the rectory's office. In qualitative analysis, the study demonstrates the main events that motivated the production of photographic records in each period of UFES management. Despite this, the results also indicate that, based on user registration, the collection is little known and widespread. Finally, it is concluded that despite its historical, cultural and educational relevance, the collection is in a worrying state regarding security and conservation, and therefore, recommendations are proposed for its safeguarding and greater enjoyment by society, recognizing the existence of numerous challenges that arise to ensure the preservation and full access to these collections.Este estudo investiga o papel das coleções de fotografias do gabinete da reitoria da UFES para a manutenção da memória institucional. Partindo do questionamento sobre o documento fotográfico e sua relação com os mecanismos da memória, o trabalho investiga a fotografia presente no arquivo universitário como documento e como fonte de informação, fundamental para a reconstituição histórica. O percurso investigativo se inicia pela revisão de literatura, abordando os principais estudos que abordam os arquivos universitários e sua intersecção com a memória institucional, discutindo a problemática do documento fotográfico na contemporaneidade, enquanto associa a formação do acervo fotográfico com a história da UFES. Em seguida, utiliza-se de um estudo de caso, visando tecer um diagnóstico das condições de produção, armazenamento, acesso e uso das fotografias produzidas no decurso das atividades dos reitores. Tecendo uma narrativa da trajetória histórica institucional e analisando os diferentes contextos de produção das fotografias, identifica os setores ligados à administração central da instituição, mapeando seus acervos fotográficos, a fim de reunir toda a coleção de fotografias provenientes das atividades do gabinete da reitoria. Tem como objetivo geral evidenciar a importância do acervo fotográfico da UFES - Campus Goiabeiras como fonte de informação para a manutenção da sua memória institucional. Os objetivos específicos são: Verificar na literatura aspectos da fotografia como documento e sua intersecção com a memória institucional; Identificar setores diretamente vinculados à administração central da UFES no Campus de Goiabeiras que possuam acervos fotográficos, mapeando os locais que produzem e arquivam estes acervos; Caracterizar como este acervo vem sendo formado e do que este acervo é composto; Refletir o acervo fotográfico da UFES sob a perspectiva do patrimônio documental; Evidenciar a importância da fotografia para a preservação da memória institucional. Além disso, discute a patrimonialização dos acervos documentais fotográficos e o acesso à informação como direito cultural. Os resultados do estudo revelam que a coleção de fotografias do gabinete da reitoria documenta os mais significativos acontecimentos da universidade, se constituindo de relevante valor para a reconstituição da história e para a manutenção da memória institucional. Apresenta ainda como resultado, a crescente elevação do uso da fotografia como recurso para o registro das atividades do gabinete da reitoria. Na análise qualitativa, o estudo demonstra os principais acontecimentos que motivaram a produção dos registros fotográficos em cada período de gestão da UFES. Apesar disso, os resultados também apontam que, com base no registro de usuários, o acervo é pouco conhecido e difundido. Por fim, conclui-se que apesar de sua relevância histórica, cultural e educativa, o acervo se encontra em estado preocupante quanto a segurança e a conservação, e, portanto, propõe-se recomendações para sua salvaguarda e maior fruição pela sociedade, reconhecendo a existência de inúmeros desafios que se interpõem para assegurar a preservação e o pleno acesso a estes acervos.FAPE
Going Beyond Counting First Authors in Author Co-citation Analysis

counts are defined. Co-citation counting provides the data on which all subsequent statistical analyses and mappings
are based, and we compare ACA results based on two different types of co-citation counting - the traditional type that
only counts the first one among a cited work's authors on the one hand and a non-traditional type that takes into
account the first 5 authors of a cited work on the other hand. Results indicate that the picture produced through this non-traditional author co-citation counting contains more coherent author groups and is therefore considerably clearer. However, this picture represents fewer specialties in the research field being studied than that produced through the traditional first-author co-citation counting when the same number of top-ranked authors is selected and analyzed. Get PDF“Variations on the Author” discusses two of Eduardo Coutinho’s recent films (Um Dia na Vida, from 2010, and Últimas Conversas, posthumously released in 2015) and their contribution to the general question of documentary authorship. The director’s filmography is characterized by a consistent yet self-effacing form of authorial self-inscription: Coutinho often features as an interviewer that rather than express opinions propels discourses; an interviewer that is good at listening. This mode of self-inscription characterizes him as an author who is not expressive but who is nonetheless markedly present on the screen. In Um Dia na Vida, however, Coutinho is completely absent form the image, while Últimas Conversas, on the contrary, includes a confessional prologue that moves the director from the margins to the center of his films. This article examines the ways in which these works stand out in the filmography of a director who offers new insights into the notion of cinematic authorship
Appropriate Similarity Measures for Author Cocitation Analysis

We first argue that the use of the Pearson correlation for measuring the similarity between authors’ cocitation profiles is not very satisfactory. We then discuss what kind of similarity measures may be used as an alternative to the Pearson correlation. We consider three similarity measures in particular. One is the well-known cosine. The other two similarity measures have not been used before in the bibliometric literature. Note that the objective for the hut study was to evaluate the IRS treatment applications for residual efficacy against Anopheles mosquitoes, including the local An. coluzzii mosquito population. Cows were only used to attract mosquitoes into the huts and no tests were carried out directly on the cows. The author checklist is intended for use with studies where experiments are carried out on animals, which is why we have had such difficulty in completing this for the hut study, as many of the questions do not relate to how the cows were used
