    Comparison of data on the total ascent along the recorded GPS tracks depending on the method of determining

    V diplomski nalogi smo obravnavali podatke o skupnem vzponu vzdolž 250 posnetih GPSsledi, zajetih na območju zahodne Slovenije. GPS-sledi so bile posnete z enostavnim enofrekvenčnim kodnim GPS-snemalnikom Qstarz BT-Q1000P, s kriterijem zajema 10 m oddaljenosti od predhodno posnete točke. Iz tako posnetih GPS-sledi smo izračunali skupni vzpon na različne načine, in sicer: direktno iz posnetih elipsoidnih višin, z uporabo različnih pragov poenostavitve višinskega profila, s pomočjo programa Google Zemlja v načinu prikaza posnete GPS-sledi “Absolutno” oz. “Pritrjeno na tla”, torej na SRTM 90 m, ter s polaganjem na podatke DMV 1 m iz nedavnega ALS snemanja Slovenije, ki smo jih uporabili kot referenčne. Ovrednotili smo ustreznost posamezne metode določitve skupnega vzpona ter empirično določili korekcijske faktorje za zagotovitev skladnosti podatkov o skupnem vzponu z referenčnimi vrednostmi ter njihove medsebojne primerljivosti. Na osnovi agregatne obdelave 250 posnetih GPS-sledi smo ugotovili, da je potrebno podatek o skupnem vzponu, izračunan iz izvorno posnete, nepopravljene GPS-sledi, v povprečju zmanjšati za 20 %, da pridobimo vrednost, primerljivo z referenčno. Podatki o skupnem vzponu, dobljeni s programom Google Zemlja v načinu “Pritrjeno na tla” oz. izračunani s pragom poenostavitve 15 m, pa so zaradi bolj generaliziranega modela reliefa oz. višinskega profila v povprečju premajhni in jih je zato potrebno za primerljivost z referenčnimi vrednostmi v povprečju povečati za 20 %. Vsota odstopanj od izračunanih referenčnih vrednosti skupnih vzponov pa je v povprečju najmanjša pri metodi določitve s 5-metrskim pragom poenostavitve višinskega profila.In this thesis, we discuss data on the total ascent along 250 recorded GPS tracks, situated in western Slovenia. GPS tracks were recorded with a simple single-frequency code GPS recorder Qstarz BT-Q1000P with distance criteria of 10 m from the previously recorded point. From all recorded GPS tracks, we calculated the total ascent in different ways, namely directly from the recorded ellipsoidal heights, using different thresholds of height profile simplification, with the help of Google Earth in view mode of the recorded GPS track “Absolute” or “Clamped to ground”, meaning on the SRTM 90 m, and by laying the GPS tracks on DMV 1 m data from a recent recording of Slovenia with ALS, which we used as a reference. We evaluated the suitability of a particular method of etermining the total ascent and empirically determined correction factors to ensure comparability of data with reference values and their mutual comparability. Based on the aggregated processing of 250 recorded GPS tracks, we found out that the total ascent, calculated from originally recorded, uncorrected GPS tracks, has to be reduced for 20 % on average, to get a value that is comparable to the reference. Total ascents, obtained with Google Earth in view mode “Clamped to ground” or calculated by the simplification threshold of 15 m, are on average too small due to more generalized terrain model or height profile, therefore it is necessary to increase them for 20 % on average to ensure the comparison with the reference values. It turns out that the sum of deviations, calculated by comparing each total ascent to its reference value, is on average the smallest when total ascent is etermined using 5 m threshold of height profile simplification

    ABSTRACTThe article is focused on Kopitar’s work in linguistics and oral tradition at the age of enlightenment and romanticism and on his contribution to the South Slavic publications of folk narratives and linguistics, especially from the perspective of his cooperation with Jacob Grimm and Vuk Stefanović Karadžić. Jernej Kopitar (1780–1844) was a Slovene linguist, censor and scriptor in Vienna and was one of the founders of Slavic studies and the author of the renowned first Slovene scientific grammar book Grammatik der slavischen Sprache in Krain, Kärnten und Steiermark (Grammar of Slavic languages in Carniola, Carinthia and Styria 1809). He was also the translator of the Freising Manuscripts (Brižinski spomeniki). As an accomplished philologist, Kopitar maintained contacts and kept correspondence with numerous intellectuals of that period, notably with Josef Dobrovský and the great German philologists Jacob and Wilhelm Grimm. Some of their letters have been preserved to the present. As a mentor to Vuk Karadžić, whom he encouraged to publish literary folklore, dictionaries, and grammar, he introduced Karadžić to Jacob Grimm who took Karadžić under his guidance. Kopitar and Grimm occasionally participated in Karadžić’s publications and introduced his work to Europe. The article focuses on the cooperation among the Grimm brothers, Jernej Kopitar and Vuk Karadžić.IZVLEČEKV članku je predstavljeno delo Jerneja Kopitarja na področju jezikoslovja in ljudskega slovstva v času razsvetljenstva in romantike, predvsem sodelovanje z Jacobom Grimmom in Vukom Stefanovićem Karadžićem. Jernej Kopitar (1780–1844), slovenski jezikoslovec, cenzor in skriptor na Dunaju, je bil eden od utemeljiteljev slavistike in avtor prve slovenske znanstvene slovnice Grammatik der slavischen Sprache in Krain, Kärnten und Steyermark (slov. Slovnica slovanskega jezika na Kranjskem, Koroškem in Štajerskem, 1809). Prevedel je Brižinske spomenike ter izdal Kločev glagolit (1836). Bil je razgledan filolog in si je dopisoval s številnimi izobraženci tistega časa, med drugim z Josefom Dobrovským ter Jacobom in Wilhelmom Grimmom. Bil je mentor Vuka Karadžića in ga je spodbujal k pripravi izdaje ljudskega slovstva, slovarjev in slovnice; pri nastajanju marsikaterega Karadžićevega dela je tudi aktivno sodeloval. Predstavil ga je velikemu nemškemu filologu Jacobu Grimmu, ki je Karadžićevo delo strokovno usmerjal in mu utiral pot v svet.     Razprava obravnava študijo primera uprizoritve Hlapec Jernej in njegova pravica v režiji Žige Divjaka, ki je nastala leta 2018. V prvem delu se osredotoča na specifičen format »dramskega besedila« v tej dokumentarni uprizoritvi, od koder izhajajo tudi nadaljnje analize dokumentarnih prvin in njihovih učinkov na ravni besedila, tekstovne strukture, likov, dramaturgije in navsezadnje zaznave zunanjega pogleda (občinstva, javnosti). Bistvena značilnost projekta je uporaba (remodulacija) prvoosebnih pričevanj, ki vpeljejo princip dobesednega (verbatim) gledališča, v tokratnem primeru gre za posredovanje neposrednih izkušenj s polja aktualnih prekarnih delovnih odnosov. Pripovedovana izkustva iz prve roke razgrnejo uvid v nevid(e)ne delavske populacije, ki so v razmerju do sodobnih »gospodarjev« (tajkunov) presenetljivo usklajene z razumevanjem odvzemanja pravic delavstvu, kot ga je dojemal Ivan Cankar. V drugem delu članek uprizoritev umešča v analitični diskurz, ki preči sociološke, politične in psihološke poglede na obstoj revščine, razredizma in razrednega sramu. V luči sodobnih kulturoloških teorij in umestitve Divjakovega Hlapca Jerneja v širši družbeni aspekt se pokaže, da prepletanje dokumentarnega gledališča in tematiziranje sodobnega delavskega razreda (problematičnih prekarnih razmerij) vzpostavljata izjemno pomembno umetniško pa tudi družbeno gesto; ta sočasno raziskuje učinke specifičnega režijskega koncepta, vnosa realnega v umetniški dogodek, in uveljavi kritično refleksijo izbrane tematike ter njenega umeščanja v javni prostor.The paper analyses the introduction of the themes of poverty, social exclusion, classism and class shame into the field of contemporary Slovenian drama in the form of a case study. The documentary theatre production The Bailiff Jernej and His Rights (Hlapec Jernej in njegova pravica), directed by Žiga Divjak, was created in 2018 as one of the many events marking the 100th anniversary of the death of Ivan Cankar, the author of the work of the same title upon which Divjak based the performance. Divjak’s documentary reinterpretation of Cankar’s short story The Bailiff Yerney and His Rights performs an engaged gesture of empowerment of the invisible and underpaid working forces, who are thus given a voice in the public sphere. Divjak draws central thematic motifs such as precarious work, workers’ rights, subordination and poverty from Cankar’s “social tale” and, through the gesture of documentary research, transposes them to the present time, thus affirming the idea of the deep-rooted existence of the proletariat, even if, with a time lag, it appears today in a different form and with altered effects. The attribute is precisely the “play”, which could also be described as a “dramatic text” since the dramatic is inscribed into it not in terms of form and dramaturgical elements but as the essence and effect of documentary narratives

    Deformable object animation using reduced optimal control

    Keyframe animation is a common technique to generate animations of deformable characters and other soft bodies. With spline interpolation, however, it can be difficult to achieve secondary motion effects such as plausible dynamics when there are thousands of degrees of freedom to animate. Physical methods can provide more realism with less user effort, but it is challenging to apply them to quickly create specific animations that closely follow prescribed animator goals. We present a fast space-time optimization method to author physically based deformable object simulations that conform to animator-specified keyframes. We demonstrate our method with FEM deformable objects and mass-spring systems. Our method minimizes an objective function that penalizes the sum of keyframe deviations plus the deviation of the trajectory from physics. With existing methods, such minimizations operate in high dimensions, are slow, memory consuming, and prone to local minima. We demonstrate that significant computational speedups and robustness improvements can be achieved if the optimization problem is properly solved in a low-dimensional space. Selecting a low-dimensional space so that the intent of the animator is accommodated, and that at the same time space-time optimization is convergent and fast, is difficult. We present a method that generates a quality low-dimensional space using the given keyframes.     The legal nature of the Slovenian special tax on undeclared income

    This paper deals with Slovenian special tax on undeclared income and attempts to determine its legal nature by presenting and analysing the regulation. The author believes that this public levy is actually not a tax since it lacks the financial purpose that each tax should have, according to the jurisprudence of the Slovenian Constitutional Court. Since the rate at which the special tax on undeclared income is levied exceeds the tax rates applied on declared income, and therefore the taxpayer's burden is higher, the author claims that the discussed tax is actually a mixture of compensation for the lost tax revenue and a legal sanction, with both deterrent and retributive (punitive) purpose, which is imposed on the taxpayer for not declaring the income
