Cooperative processes in complex networks with imperfections
Examples of cooperative behavior in complex networks with inherent or created imperfections are in the focus of study in this thesis. The complex networks represent real world systems where a number of entities cooperate through their interconnections. All entities and their interactions have some unique characteristics that determine the overall dynamics of the system. Therefore, the main topic of the thesis is the study of some of the effects of the uniqueness of the individual entities on the dynamical behavior of real systems, the effects of the neglecting of some physical aspects during modeling and approaches of combining the distinct qualities of individual models of nonlinear systems in developing better representation of the system of interest. The analyses show that model imperfections should lead to appropriate adaptation of the learning procedures used for state and parameter estimation in modeling. Furthermore, approaches of interactively combining imperfect models can lead to improvements in nonlinear modeling of real world phenomena. The study of synchronization and consensus in complex networks revealed some of the effects of the uniqueness of entities and their interactions, which can alter the convergence rate or introduce some new interesting behavior
Cooperative Phenomena in Networks of Oscillators With Non-Identical Interactions and Dynamics
The incipience of synchrony in a diverse population of phase oscillators with non-identical interactions is an intriguing phenomenon. We study frequency synchronization of such oscillators composing networks with arbitrary topology in the context of the Kuramoto model and we show that its synchronization manifold is exponentially stable when the coupling has certain properties. Several example systems with periodic linear, cubic and sinusoidal coupling functions were examined, some including frustration and external fields. The numerical results confirmed the analytic findings and revealed some other interesting occurrences, like phase clustering in a synchronized network of strongly coupled oscillators. We also analyze the effects of the topology by considering random weighted network
Memristor-based filtering applications
The use of the memristor as a programmable resistance permits the realization of memristor-based analog circuits with flexible features. This work gains some insight on memristor-based filtering applications. Adopting a PSpice implementation of the recently-introduced Boundary Condition Model (BCM) for memristive nano-structures, we analyze basic first-order low-pass and second-order band-pass memristor-based filters, whose frequency characteristics may be finely shaped through simple auxiliary programming circuitry. In particular, programming phases, dependent on some control system, respectively enable the desired modulation of the cut-off frequency and of the quality factor of the frequency response of the low-pass and of the band-pass filter. This study represents the first step towards a systematic design of memristor-based analog filters. © 2013 IEEE
The art performance by Miroslav Hornicek
The dissertation introduces the art performance by Miroslav Hornicek. It reflects the collage creation which Miroslav Hornicek devoted more than twenty years. The author introduced the gift of improvisation and humor into his collage. Many of them look like graphic, some of them remind the theater scene. He often repeats the same motive such as eye, sisters, theatrical costumes, sculptures, senses and body organs. It is interesting that despite his work he did not consider himself like the artist. He created many collage, he found inspiration in the creation of Max Ernst, Toyen, Jindrich Styrsky and Jiri Kolar. In relating with Jiri Kolar it is possible to search a certain similarity. From the poet became the artist, collage maker. Miroslav Hornicek was primarily the actor who has also found a way of life in creating collages. Miroslav Hornicek wrote to some of his collages names and interpretations. This material is very important for trying to understand his theater scenes and a tangle of something "incomprehensible", because of collages effect on the viewer. Finally, the dissertation aims to look at his art creation as a whole, highlight the exhibition activity and introduce Miroslav Hornicek not only as the actor, writer, dramatist, director and also the artist with an incredible imagination..
Synchronization analysis of networks of identical and nearly identical Chua's oscillators
In this paper we analyze synchronization in networks of identical and nearly identical Chua's oscillators. Using time-domain simulations and the Master Stability Function (MSF) approach in time and frequency domain, we show that losses can lower down the coupling bounds for which a given network of oscillators synchronizes. We also show that by using the extended MSF losses reduce the synchronization error when the oscillators are nearly identical, i.e. there is a bounded mismatch of the parameters of the oscillator

Although the field of editing and dramaturgy of the films is abundantly mapped in theoretical texts, the film editing profession is often neglected. A notable example of a neglected "genius of film editing" is a Czech editor Miroslav Hájek. Miroslav Hájek is the author of editing of more than 400 films from the period beginning with the Czech post-war film and stretching until late normalization era. The thesis deals with the institutional context of the editing profession and tries to briefly map the life of Miroslav Hájek. The editing style and the quality of Hájek's editing are shown in the analysis of the previously banned film Squandered Sunday. The work is complemented by an interview with Drahomíra Vihanova, who completes the topic of my thesis in her own distinctive way.Ateliér Audioviz
The Miroslav Krleža Lexicographic Institute Retrospective Bibliography of Articles Catalogue: It’s Structure and History
U prilogu autorica govori o ustroju i povijesti nastanka Kataloga retrospektivne bibliografije članaka Leksikografskoga zavoda Miroslav Krleža u Zagrebu, pod vodstvom dr. Mate Ujevića. Ističe njegovu nemjerljivu kulturnu, znanstvenu i stručnu vrijednost pohranjenu u oko 8 000 000 bibliografskih kataloških listića, za razdoblje od kraja XVIII. st. do 1945. godine. Naglašava potrebu njegove zaštite i spominje njegovu elektroničku revitalizaciju. In this paper the author has presented the history of establishment, development and structure of The Miroslav Krleža Lexicographic Institute Retrospective Bibliography of Articles Catalogue (RBC) in Zagreb. The RBC evolved following the design and editorship of Dr. Mate Ujević. The author has presented its unique and undiminished cultural, scientific and artistic value as well as its competent performance. The Catalogue stores about 8 000 000 bibliographical index cards and covers the period from the end of 18th century to 1945. The author stresses the essential need to protect and consequently revitalize the RBC in electronic media. In this way we will be able to preserve this exceptional monument of Croatian national heritage
