Core Self-Evaluations and Self-Leadership: Exploring Their Interplay and Impact : A Hidden Driver of Job Satisfaction?
Abstract Title: Core Self-Evaluations and Self-Leadership: Exploring Their Interplay and Impact Level: Bachelor's Thesis in Business Administration Author: Layth Amer & Hugo Kark Supervisor: Emilia Kvarnström Date: May 2025 Aim: The aim of the study is to examine how Core Self-Evaluations (CSE) and self-leadership correlate, and whether and how these factors predict perceived job satisfaction among Swedish employees at work. Method: The study employed a quantitative design using a survey distributed via social media targeting employees in the Swedish workforce. Responses were analyzed with correlation analysis, ANOVA, and regression analysis in the statistical software JASP. Results and conclusions: The study shows that higher levels of CSE are linked to greater self-leadership, and that self-leadership in turn has a weak but positive relationship with job satisfaction, whereas CSE unexpectedly correlates negatively with job satisfaction. Younger participants exhibited higher CSE than older ones, but no age differences were observed for self-leadership or job satisfaction, and among the CSE components it was mostly self-esteem that drove the connection with self-leadership. Responses were analyzed using the statistical software JASP. Contribution of the thesis: This thesis provides an integrated understanding of how CSE and self-leadership interact and influence job satisfaction. By combining these concepts into a unified model, the study addresses previously identified research gaps and offers practical implications for organizations aiming to promote employee well-being and motivation. Suggestions for future research: Future studies should include a larger proportion of older respondents and ideally use a longitudinal design to examine development over time and across different career stages. Key words: Self-leadership, Core self-evaluation, job satisfaction.

Critical edition of the chapter Al-Nawazil in the book "Kitab al-Hiyal" by Abu al-Layth al-Samarqandi
The book al-Naw?zil by Ab? al-Layth al-Samarqand? (d. 373/983) is regarded as one of the most important books in the field of Islamic Jurisprudence. This work is a compilation that involves the legal opinions issued by the experts of Islamic Jurisprudence of Balkh and Samarqand in the third and fourth centuries A.H. But one should point out that these opinions do not occur in the major reference books of the Hanafite School of law. Al-Samarqand? included in this compilation the opinions of six distinguished Hanafite scholars from the regions of Khurasan and Turkistan. This book contains a chapter called ?Kit?b al-Hiyal wa al-Makh?rij?, i.e., the Book of Circumventions, in which two-hundred and forty legal issues are discussed. This study is composed of two chapters. In the first, I spoke of the biography of the author, including his teachers, his students, his works as well as the socio-political upsetting in which he was born and raised. In this chapter, I also talked of the science of circumvention in general terms. In the second chapter, I provided a critical edition of the text of the chapter ?Kit?b al-Hiyal?. I tried to restructure the text by comparing its two manuscripts existing in the Süleymaniye Library in Istanbul. I added some useful explanations on Islamic legal terms in footnotes, providing biographical information about the scholars occurring in the text. I also pointed to the credits given to the book and its author in the later Hanafite literature
Comparison of Two Biodegradable Polymer Coated, Drug-Eluting Coronary Stents Paclitaxel vs. Sirolimus, with 6-Years Clinical Follow-Up: BIOPRESS (BIOdegradable Polymer REgistry Smt
Abstract: Background: The safety and efficacy of drug-eluting stents has been shown in randomized trials, but some controversy exists regarding which stent, sirolimus-eluting or paclitaxel-eluting is more effective in unselected real-world patients. Therefore, we investigated, long term safety and efficacy of paclitaxel-eluting stents (PES) compared to sirolimus-eluting stents (SES) when used without restriction in unselected real-world patients. Methods: We created a prospective, open label, non-randomized, multicenter registry and analyzed data on a consecutive series of all patients who presented to our institution with symptomatic coronary artery disease between July-2004 and June-2006 and who were treated with the Infinnium ® PES or the Supralimus ® SES. All enrolled patients were divided into two groups based on stent type. By outpatient clinic visit and telephone interview, we obtained up to 6-years clinical outcomes including death, myocardial infarction (MI), stent thrombosis (ST), target lesion revascularization (TLR), target vessel revascularization (TVR), and major adverse cardiac events (MACE, the composite of cardiac death, TLR, TVR and ST). Results: In total, 571 patients were treated with either the Infinnium ® PES (n=276) or the Supralimus ® SES (n=295). Baseline clinical and angiographic characteristics were almost similar in the two groups. The six-year clinical follow-up was completed in 529 patients (92.6%). Total 1.4 % in-hospital major adverse cardiac event (MACE) were recorde
Benefits of Exercise Training For Computer-Based Staff: A Meta Analyses
Background: Office workers sit down to work for approximately 8 hours a day and, as a result, many of them do not have enough time for any form of physical exercise. This can lead to musculoskeletal discomforts, especially low back pain and recently, many researchers focused on home/office-based exercise training for prevention/treatment of low back pain among this population. Objective: This Meta analyses paper tried to discuss about the latest suggested exercises for the office workers based on the mechanisms and theories behind low back pain among office workers. Method: In this Meta analyses the author tried to collect relevant papers which were published previously on the subject. Google Scholar, Scopus, and PubMed were used as sources to find the articles. Only articles that were published using the same methodology, including office workers, musculoskeletal discomforts, low back pain, and exercise training keywords, were selected. Studies that failed to report sufficient sample statistics, or lacked a substantial review of past academic scholarship and/or clear methodologies, were excluded. Results: Limited evidence regarding the prevention of, and treatment methods for, musculoskeletal discomfort, especially those in the low back, among office workers, is available. The findings showed that training exercises had a significant effect (p<0.05) on low back pain discomfort scores and decreased pain levels in response to office-based exercise training. Conclusion: Office-based exercise training can affect pain/discomfort scores among office workers through positive effects on flexibility and strength of muscles. As such, it should be suggested to occupational therapists as a practical way for the treatment/prevention of low back pain among office workers. </jats:p
Cellular Radiosensitivity, Radioresistant DNA Synthesis, and Defect in Radioinduction of p 53 in Fibroblasts From Atherosclerosis Patients
Abstract
Earlier studies have suggested that both cancer and atherosclerosis may follow a common pathway in the early stage of development and share certain risk factors. One report indicated that the gene responsible for the radiosensitive, cancer-prone, multisystem disorder ataxia telangiectasia (AT) may increase the risk of developing ischemic heart disease. The present studies were carried out to find similarities, if any, between atherosclerosis patients and AT homozygotes or heterozygotes (ATHs) in their cellular/molecular response to ionizing radiation, which acts as a carcinogen as well as an atherogen. Fibroblast cell strains developed from healthy subjects and from AT homozygotes, ATHs, and atherosclerosis patients were compared for (1) survival, by the colony-forming assay and (2) DNA synthesis inhibition after irradiation, determined by [

proteins, analyzed by flow cytometry. Fibroblasts from the atherosclerosis patients as a group, compared with the healthy subjects, showed enhanced sensitivity to chronic (low-dose-rate) irradiation. A majority of the cell strains representing atherosclerosis patients exhibited varying degrees of radioresistant DNA synthesis (RDS), with roughly 33% showing an AT-like and the rest an ATH-like response. All cell strains with an AT-like and one quarter with an ATH-like RDS were found to be defective in the radioinduction of both p

Tercüme-i tefsir-i ebu‟l-leys es-semerkandî : rahmân, vâkıa, hadîd, mücâdile ve haşr sureleri (inceleme-metin-dizin-tıpkıbasım)
Kur’ân-ı Kerîm, Tefsir, Eski Anadolu Türkçesi, Ebu’l-Leys es-SemerkandîOld Anatolian Turkish is a written language that Turkish people created after having migrated to Anatolia in the XI-XIII centuries and put it into form in the XIII-XV centuries. In this period so many religious books were translated and especially the translations and the interpretations of the Qur’ân were done. The main inspiration of these translations is seen as the translation of Abu’l-Layth al-Samarkandi. The work that we studied on is the translation of Abu’l-Layth al-Samarkandi into Turkish. In this study the translations of Rahmân, Vâkıa, Hadîd, Mücâdile and Haşr Suras that appear in 153b/ 182a leaves of the 143th volume of the work registered in 140-143 numbers of Nuruosmaniye Collection of Süleymaniye Library were analysed in terms of language properties. The copy date of this work, which was written in XV century and reflected the period of the old Anatolian Turkish was recorded as 1024-1026 years according to the muslim’s calendar. The translator is İbrahim bin Yûsuf. Our study consists of four sections including analysis, text, index and facsimile. The analysis section includes the actions of Turkish people for the translation and interpretation of Qur’ân, the importance of the interpretation of Abu’l-Layth al-Samarkandi the authors to whom this interpretation was attributed, whom the translation of the interpretation belonged to and the description of the copy reviewed. In this section in which the information about the work and its author were given, the phonetics and morphology properties of the given text were focused on and some findings about the vocabulary were determined. In the text section Suras that appear in 153b/ 182a leaves of the 143th volume of the work were turned into translation and the Verses and the Hadiths were shown with their Arabic scripts. In the index section all the words in the text were given with their contextual meanings and the idioms were shown under a different title with their meanings. In addition, which language the words belonged to was determined and the words that had the phonetic change were compared in this section The facsimile section consists of the facsimile of the copy that we studied on. The translations and the interpretations of Qur’ân are extremely important documents that enable us to follow the historical route of Turkish in terms of lexicology and syntax. This work, which was enhanced with rumours, is a very valuable work in terms of Turkish language. KEY WORDS: Qur’ân, Interpretation, Old Anatolian Turkish, Abu’l-Layth al-Samarkand
Clinical Presentation, Predictors, and Outcomes Among Mineralocorticoid Receptor Antagonist (MRA)-Eligible Acute Heart Failure Patients in the Heart Function Assessment Registry Trial in Saudi Arabia (HEARTS)
Mineralocorticoid receptor antagonist (MRA) therapy is indicated after myocardial infarction in patients with acute heart failure (AHF) with an ejection fraction ≤40% and lacking contraindications. We analyzed clinical presentations, predictors, and outcomes of MRA-eligible patients within a prospective registry of patients with AHF from 18 hospitals in Saudi Arabia, from 2009 to 2010. For this subgroup, mortality rates were followed until 2013, and the clinical characteristics, management, predictors, and outcomes were compared between MRA-treated and non-MRA-treated patients. Of 2609 patients with AHF, 387 (14.8%) were MRA eligible, of which 146 (37.7%) were prescribed MRAs. Compared with non-MRA-treated patients, those prescribed MRAs more commonly exhibited non-ST-segment elevation myocardial infarction, acute on chronic heart failure, past history of ischemic heart disease, and severe left ventricular systolic dysfunction; were more commonly administered oral furosemide and digoxin; and had higher in-hospital recurrent congestive HF rates. Mortality did not significantly differ ( P > .05) between groups. In Saudi Arabia, 37.7% of eligible patients received MRA treatment, which is higher than that in developed countries. The lack of long-term survival benefit raises concerns about systematic problems, for example, proper follow-up and management after hospital discharge, warranting further investigation. </jats:p
Prevalence of obstructive sleep apnea among patients with coronary artery disease in Saudi Arabia
AbstractBackgroundDespite the association between obstructive sleep apnea (OSA) and coronary artery disease (CAD), few studies have investigated this issue in Saudi Arabia.ObjectivesThis study aimed to identify the prevalence of OSA among CAD patients.Subjects and methodsThis was a cross-sectional (descriptive) study conducted at King Abdul-Aziz University Hospital in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia from April 2012 to December 2013. All consecutive patients referred to the cardiac catheterization lab for coronary angiography who exhibited evidence of CAD were included in this study. This study was conducted in two stages. During the first stage, each participant was interviewed individually. The administered interview collected data pertaining to demographics, comorbidities, and the STOP-BANG questionnaire score. The second stage of this study consisted of a diagnostic overnight polysomnography (PSG) of 50% of the subjects at high risk for OSA according to the STOP-BANG questionnaire.ResultsAmong the patients with CAD (N=156), 128 (82%) were categorized as high risk for developing OSA. PSG was conducted on 48 patients. The estimated prevalence of OSA in the study sample was 56.4%. Approximately 61% of the documented sleep apnea patients suffered from moderate to severe OSA.ConclusionThis local study concurs with reports in the literature indicating that OSA is very common among CAD patients
