Moral Good, the Beatific Vision, and God’s Kingdom Writings by Germain Grisez and Peter Ryan, S.J.. Edited by Peter J. Weigel
For close to half a century, the work of Germain Grisez has been highly influential, and his writings continue to receive considerable attention from philosophers and theologians of diverse viewpoints. His co-author for this work is the professor and noted moral theologian Fr. Peter Ryan, S.J., currently the executive director of the Secretariat of Doctrine and Canonical Affairs of the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops (USCCB). These two eminent scholars explore fundamental questions about Christian eschatology, moral theory, the purpose of human life, and the promise of human fulfilment. The authors examine Christian teaching on the final destiny of persons, investigating the meaning of God's kingdom, the hope of the beatific vision, and the centrality of moral goodness and divine grace in one's final end. This work is an ideal source for students, scholars, ministers and lay persons interested in basic questions of Christian theology, the philosophy of religion, ethical theory, and Catholic doctrin

The Transcription of Czechoslovak Dissent: the Contribution of Sylvie Germain
This paper looks into the novel transcription of recent historical events of Czechoslovakia by the French author Sylvie Germain, who witnessed the precarious situation of Czechoslovak dissidents in Prague during the Communist era and the Velvet Revolution in 1989. Far from making a fascinating story open to political considerations out of it, Germain privileges thinking about the meaning of freedom not conditioned by external circumstances.
Exploring multi-banked shared-l1 program cache on ultra-low power, tightly coupled processor clusters
L1 instruction caches in many-core systems represent a siz-able fraction of the total power consumption. Although large instruction caches can significantly improve performance, they have the potential to increase power consumption. Pri-vate caches are usually able to achieve higher speed, due to their simpler design, but the smaller L1 memory space seen by each core induces a high miss ratio. Shared instruction cache can be seen as an attractive solution to improve per-formance and energy efficiency while reducing area. In this paper we propose a multi-banked, shared instruction cache architecture suitable for ultra-low power multicore systems, where parallelism and near threshold operation is used to achieve minimum energy. We implemented the cluster ar-chitecture with different configurations of cache sharing, uti-lizing the 28nm UTBB FD-SOI from STMicroelectronics as reference technology. Experimental results, based on several real-life applications, demonstrate that sharing mechanisms have no impact on the system operating frequency, and al-low to reduce the energy consumption of the cache subsys-tem by up to 10%, while keeping the same area footprint, or reducing by 2x the overall shared cache area, while keeping the same performance and energy efficiency with respect to a cluster of processing elements with private program caches

AbstractIn this article, Raoul Germain Blé reviews the common places on African poverty broadcasted by French media. His theoretical background is the theory of social representation. The author's aim is to study the radio, T.V, and press productions about black Africa elaborated by French media. To achieve this goal, Blé shows the vagueness implied in the notion of poverty, considers the weight on the constitution of social representation related to this continent that the common placs about Africa transmitted by the media have, and enumerates the main common places on Africa transmitted by the French media. Alfter showing television as an ideology in itself, the author hopes that, sooner that later, the process of internationalization and globalization will allow the citizens of the world to be real witnesses of the different lifestyles coexisting in our planet.RésuméEn partant des notions derivées de la théorie des representations sociales Raoul Germain Blé rement en question dans ce article les lieux communs que le médias français diffusent sur la pauvreté en Afrique noire.
Excavations undertaken since 1991 in advance of gravel extraction at Bucy-le-Long "La Fosse Tounise" (Aisne) have produced substantial traces of two Neolithic settlements, the earliest dating to the Paris Basin Late Bandkeramik and the later to the Villeneuve-Saint-Germain group. Despite the close proximity of lon- ghouses belonging to the two successive occupations, assemblages from pits do not appear mixed. Ceramic and lithic finds, as well as carbonised seeds, from the lateral pits of two neighbouring longhouses (dating respectively to Late Bandkeramik and Villeneuve-Saint-Germain) are compared. Although some differences are underlined, the evidence points to a certain degree of continuity between the two periods. Ilett Michael, Constantin Claude, Farruggia Jean-Paul, Bakels Corrie C. Finding faith in novels by Sylvie Germain
5 Synopsis This thesis focuses on the analysis of three novels by the contemporary French writer Sylvie Germain, who is not only common theme of searching for faith, which appears in the title of the thesis. In addition it is joining two other topics: 1 Relationship with Judaism and Christianity and 2 Topic of deformed childhood. Attention is devoted to Judeo- Christian myths and symbols in the text corpus and the way that Sylvie Germain is transforming and reinterpreting them. The study is concerned on mythologic and symbolic potentials and the underlying topoi of religious discourse, which, however, beyond its meaning outside of religion to all spheres of human existence. To this end, the use of certain interpretive methods of depth psychology and the closely related hagiotherapy. The paper also used knowledge of theology and theological hermeneutics. The last methodological total, whom the author of the work uses, is Bakhtin's-Kristeva's concept of intertextuality where there are analyzed texts associated with their hypotexts in intentions of Sylvie Germain. Keywords: Judeo-Christian tradition and mythology, religion, symbols, childhood, depth psychology, theological hermeneutics, intertextuality, hypertext, hypotext, literary transposition, enlightenment
