In Vivo Local Drug Delivery of Non-electroactive Species
No full textPressure ejection is the controlled expulsion of substances using applied air pressure from pulled multibarrel glass capillaries. The technique is frequently employed in neuroscience for the localized delivery of reagents to select brain regions of interest. Our lab has recently adapted a method to prevent unintentional leaking of reagent into the recording site. Here, those principles have been adapted to allow the local delivery of non-electroactive substances in vivo. A pressure-ejected system was coupled to fast scan cyclic voltammetry for real-time monitoring of ejections and a dye was introduced into the pipet barrels for visualization of ejection progress. This study shows that the dye had no effect on the electrically evoked dopamine response. Additionally, it shows the method proposed is applicable for fabrication and local employment of electroinactive reagents delivery of in vivo

The Oberlin, Ohio Project
No full textOberlin, Ohio showcases a wealth of history, embodied in notable sites and famed edifices, as recognized by the National Register of Historic Places, the National Historical Landmarks program and even the National Historic Chemical Landmark program.
Founded in 1833, concurrently with Oberlin College, the city played an important role in the prohibition and abolitionist movements, and was a part of the Underground Railroad. This rich history is graciously remembered and proudly celebrated in the present.
The Oberlin, Ohio Project was started in January of 2011. The project incorporated many of the photographs within the Cleveland Press Photograph Collection of the Special Collections Department in the Michael Schwartz Library at Cleveland State University. This work was completed by Kent State University School of Library and Information School graduate student and Oberlin Heritage Center member Jonathan D. Herr as part of a culminating practicum experience.

Second harvest-is there sufficient stubble for biofuel production in Australia?
No full textIdentifying the location and amount of grain crop residues (stubble) in Australia is necessary for determining the viability of potential biofuel plant locations. We combined 22 years of crop statistics with harvest indices and land use to arrive at spatially explicit stubble productivity figures. Stubble quantities using different focal radii and from different seasons provide an insight into the feasibility of its use for bioenergy. We focus on areas where the stubble concentrations within a 50 km radius were at least 500 kt per year; the amount suggested for a viable lignocellolosic bioethanol facility. The outcome of this study has been to show, for the first time, where there are large amounts of stubble in Australia. Whether the supply of stubble is sufficiently constant over time and indeed available at a price that is economic for a biofuel plant must be subject to future work.Alexander Herr, Deborah O’connell, Michael Dunlop, Murray Unkovich , Perry Poulton And Michael Pool

quadratic variation of the noise is globally finite and the nonlinearity is
defocusing,we prove that the solutions scatter at infinity in the
pseudo-conformal space and in the energy space respectively, including the
energy-critical case. Moreover, in the case where the noise is large,
non-conservative and has infinite quadratic variation, we show that the
solutions scatter at infinity with high probability for all energy-subcritical
exponents
