Ranking of Croatian Researchers from Several Disciplines using Google Scholar Database
No full textUsing the h-index and the total number of citations in (natural) sciences, techniques and humanities in this article the best 10 Croatian researchers is ranked. The list may be formed based on the h-index and the total number of citations, given in Web of Science, Scopus, Publish or Perish Program and Google Scholar. Data for the first 10 researchers are presented. Google Scholar is the most complete. Therefore, to define a single indicator, h-index calculated by Google Scholar may be a good and simple one. The author chooses the Google Scholar database as it is the broadest one

Sperner type theorems with excluded subposets
No full textLet F be a family of subsets of an n-element set. Sperner's theorem says that if there is no inclusion among the members of F then the largest family under this condition is the one containing all ⌊ frac(n, 2) ⌋-element subsets. The present paper surveys certain generalizations of this theorem. The maximum size of F is to be found under the condition that a certain configuration is excluded. The configuration here is always described by inclusions. More formally, let P be a poset. The maximum size of a family F which does not contain P as a (not-necessarily induced) subposet is denoted by La (n, P). The paper is based on a lecture of the author at the Jubilee Conference on Discrete Mathematics [Banasthali University, January 11-13, 2009], but it was somewhat updated in December 2010. © 2011 Elsevier B.V. No full text 1883.június 6-án baleset történt egy pécsi építkezésen, melynek következtében 2 munkás meghalt, 10 pedig különböző súlyosságú sérüléseket szenvedett. Ez a hír önmagában még nem lenne túlságosan érdekes, hiszen építési balesetek gyakran történtek a dualizmus korában. Ám annak köszönhetően, hogy a korabeli sajtó a balesetet követő büntetőper tárgyalását teljes egészében közölte, jól rekonstruálhatókká váltak az események. Ez a cikk az építőmester életútjának és a per kimenetelének segítségével azt mutatja be, milyen hatást gyakorolt ez a szerencsétlen eset Piátsek Gyula munkásságára. Különös aspektusa a történetnek, hogy a pécsi Széchenyi tér 16. számú épület falának leomlása miatt gondatlanságból elkövetett emberöléssel megvádolt mester 20 évvel később azzal gyanúsította meg a városháza terveit készítő Lang Adolf budapesti építészt, hogy az épület számára túlságosan vékony falakat tervezett, és félő, hogy az épület összedől, úgy, mint a Lang által 1875-ben tervezett fővárosi Stein-palota
Massive Open Online Courses in Education of Robotics
No full textRecently, the requirement for learning is constantly increasing. MOOC – massive open online courses represent educational revolution of the century. A MOOC is an online course accessible to unlimited number of participation and is an open access via the web. Mayor participants in the MOOCS are: Coursera, Udacity (Stanford, since 2012) and edX (Harvard, MIT, since 2012). In this paper two MOOCs are considered: Introduction for Robotics and Robotics Vision, both from the Queensland University of Technology, Brisbane, Australia
Cloud Robotics Model
No full textCloud Robotics was born from the merger of service robotics and cloud technologies. It allows robots to benefit from the powerful computational, storage, and communications resources of modern data centres. Cloud robotics allows robots to take advantage of the rapid increase in data transfer rates to offload tasks without hard real time requirements. Cloud Robotics has rapidly gained momentum with initiatives by companies such as Google, Willow Garage and Gostai as well as more than a dozen active research projects around the world. The presentation summarizes the main idea, the definition, the cloud model composed of essential characteristics, service models and deployment models, planning task execution and beyond. Finally some cloud robotics projects are discussed
Rankings Scientists, Journals and Countries using h-Index
No full textIndexes in scientometrics are based on citations. However, in contrast to the journal impact factor, which gives only the ranking of the scientific journals, ordered by impact factor, indexes in scientometrics are suitable for ranking of scientists, scientific journals and countries. In this paper the h-index, h5-index, the World ranking the top of 25 Highly Cited Researchers (h > 100) and the ranking of 25 scientists in Hungarian Institutions according to their Google Scholar Citations public profiles are considered. These indexes (h5-index) are applied for making of the list of top 20 publications (journals and proceedings) in the field of Robotics. The World ranking is done of the best 50 countries according to h-index in year 2014. Data are obtained from the portal Scimago
