Near-field hydrodynamic interactions determine travelling wave directions of collectively beating cilia
Cilia can beat collectively in the form of a metachronal wave, and we investigate how near-field hydrodynamic interactions between cilia can influence the collective response of the beating cilia. Based on the theoretical framework developed in the work of Meng et al . (Meng et al . 2021 Proc. Natl Acad. Sci. USA 118 , e2102828118), we find that the first harmonic mode in the driving force acting on each individual cilium can determine the direction of the metachronal wave after considering the finite size of the beating trajectories, which is confirmed by our agent-based numerical simulations. The stable wave patterns, e.g. the travelling direction, can be controlled by the driving forces acting on the cilia, based on which one can change the flow field generated by the cilia. This work can not only help to understand the role of the hydrodynamic interactions in the collective behaviours of cilia, but can also guide future designs of artificial cilia beating in the desired dynamic mode.National Natural Science Foundation of China http://dx.doi.org/10.13039/501100001809Wenzhou InstituteBeijing National Laboratory for Condensed MatterAlexander von Humboldt Foundation 100005156Max Planck Societ
Regarding the Dates of Birth and Death of Li Meng-Yang : Ming Period Poet
In this paper, the author has confirmed the dates of birth and death of Li
Meng-Yang, a poet of middle period of the Ming dynasty in China.
The author has referred his poems and literature as well as letters written
between him and his friends, and critically reviewed various views and arguments
about his lifetime compiled over the past four hundred years.
In conclusion, the author has determined the date of his birth and death as
follows according to lunar calendar. Li Meng-Yang was born on the 7th of
December, Cheng-Hua 8 (1472), and died 30th of December, Jia-Jing 8 (1529).departmental bulletin pape
Analyzing Interpersonal Metafunction through Personal Pronouns in Song Ci Jiang Cheng Zi. Ji Meng
Interpersonal metafunction has been studied in the four translated versions of Song Ci Jiang Cheng Zi. Ji Meng through contrastive analysis with the focus on personal pronouns. It aims to find out that the use of different personal pronouns connotes different interpersonal meaning and test the feasibility and applicability of Systemic Functional Grammar to discourse analysis. It also helps people who love Song Ci better appreciate this Ci-poem from a different angle

ELITE land surface temperature: Landsat LST over China (2005.1)
The Essential thermaL Infrared remoTe sEnsing (ELITE) product suite currently has four types of products, including land surface temperature (LST: clear-sky and all-sky), emissivity (NBE: narrowband emissivity; BBE: broadband emissivity; and spectral emissivity), the component of surface radiation and energy budget (SLUR: surface longwave upwelling radiation; SLDR: surface longwave downward radiation SLDR; SLNR: surface longwave net radiation), and the component of Earth’s radiation budget (OLR; outgoing longwave radiation; RSR: reflected solar radiation). The spatial-temporal resolutions of the ELITE products are mainly determined by the employed satellite data sources. For more information about ELITE products, please refer to the website (https://elite.bnu.edu.cn).
This dataset is the ELITE Landsat LST dataset over China generated by the radiative transfer method (Cheng et al., 2021). Firstly, a new scheme was used to determine the real-time Landsat 5/7/8 narrowband emissivity . Then, the MERRA2 reanalysis product was used for thermal infrared data atmospheric correction (Meng and Cheng, 2018). Finally, an LST product with 30m spatial resolution was generated using the radiative transfer equation method.
